Pixel 9 pro is great while I had it but still got my 8 pro because I haven't pay it off and Google wasn't going to give me full trade in value because of that.

As an iPhone user I gotta say Google tempts me every year when they launch the pro Pixel phones. Might be getting closer to a switch back to Android.

So I just ran geekbench on my 9 pro XL and got 1925 single core, 4604 multi core...

The modem being better this generation definitely makes a pretty large difference. Not particularly fond of application opening tests because for the most part phones have been more than fast enough now for years. The cellular connection though has been significantly better than the last three year's worth of Pixel phones.

13 still beats most new andriod phones as an overall phone and has beast battery life, but I would honestly wait for the 17. Depends on what phone you have now, if you wanted to try andriod then go Pixel.

The benchmark scores will slightly improve when geekbench gets apo optimisation
Right now I have a i13 Pro Max and when it completely fails I’m gonna go with the Google Pixel series. I think Apple is really jerking its customers around with overpriced hardware. Especially when it comes to putting 60Hz on a smartphone in 2024 being sold at $800-$900 that’s just outright robbery.
I truly believe Google will focus on performance on their next model cause they really nail it down with the AI and hardware side. Now they need to focus on ONE THING

I think Google has nailed AI from a long time ago. It’s literally now performance. They need to catch up on with the Pixel phones and I’m rooting for Google and Pixel which is my favourite Android phone by far.

Don’t know why he is getting a low score on geekbench. I just ran geekbench test on mine snd i got 1913 for single core and 4593 for multi core.

The fact is that go with what you use your phone for. If you're a hard gamer or do a lot of video editing concurrently, then it's best to go for the Samsung. But if you do normal everyday tasks casually and you love the pixel's software and feel, like me 🫠, then the pixel's your best choice.

Their chip will be better when they switch to TSMC next year however the entire speed thing is overated now. For 85% of people you will never experience a speed boost difference in usage not to say faster chips aren't welcomed.
I will keep my 8 Pro for at least another year.
The g3 has one core more its a nine core g4 is octacore.

At least on my monitor the pixel 9 screen on videos looks super spot on white balance. Like white point is really really white, not blue, not yellow, just super correct white.

hi just bought an s24 ultra 5 days ago the battery sucks i cant finish the day without charging it im in 60 hz dark mode lower screen res and 5g turned off extra brightness off i did all that and more still drains fast
Your equipment must be defective, with everything at maximum it lasts me a day and a half and I usually play among many things. You should take it to warranty.

Tensor G4 won't last 7 years . Speed difference between 8 and 9 pro is negligible.

How could that be if the Tensor from last year lags 1year nothing was done and. Now rhey bring the same exynos but remove one core.
Lags in scroll are not accapable if that is my 99/% doing on a phone.
The main point here is that there are few compelling reasons to upgrade from the 8 to the 9. They are almost identical in terms of CPU, GPU, NPU, and cameras. While the 9 has 4GB of extra RAM, it's not currently being fully utilized. Considering that the 8 Pro is available for around £500 new on eBay and the 9 Pro XL for £850 (already discounted), I would suggest saving money and opting for the older model. The upgrade is very minor - people often criticize the iPhone updates, but it could be argued that the iPhone 16 Pros are a much more substantial upgrade than the Pixels and even the S24U. this time around.
