Really enjoyed this. I'd personally use a drill bit that has a hole saw to make the cave entrance. I think that'd be easier but if you don't have one your technique was on point.

Would you drill a pilot hole first (if your hole saw bit doesn’t have a built-in bit for that)? The convex shape of the coconut seems like it could prove to be a dangerous issue with a whole saw

I used a drill too. Better control so you can design it the way you want.

so ummm....i may have just stuck the coconut in without boiling will my fish die?

It is not necessarily to boil the coconut shell. The most important thing is to remove the coconut flesh and wash the shell clean.

Will the water inside the shells become stagnant and become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria? I'm just curious

This is a good question. I would say no given if you created the jagged edge on the bottom there should be plenty of water movement in there.

What about drilling three holes on the top of the shell.

It would be way easier to just buy a circular drill bit for a few bucks

Missed a crucial step: eat the coconut meat and wash it down with coconut water.

    • @Sche-D

Like, that was all I could concentrate on the entire video, why save the milk when you're going to be wasting the meat....and I opened a coconut with a wine corker & the back of my kitchen knife...seriously....I think it's a new drill he's trying to show off his new drill , hehe
