I am from Germany. So I have never heard of Laurence Welk before. But now as a recommendation of you tube I discovered that wonderful warm-hearted show . I like watching it very much.
We HAD to watch Welk because in the 60s we had one TV set and my parents watched every Saturday night. We kids despised it & thought it was corny & boring. I enjoy it now because of the memories, & because its family entertainment that is sadly lacking on media today. Most people I know would prefer this to the garbage on tv today.
Very sad that Henry Cuesta's son, Henry (5:50) was later shot and killed at age 17 by a robber when he was working at a movie theater. That was his only son.
Love Sandi hosting.....her little granddaughter, Raquel, Jenni’s daughter, died of a brain tumor a few years ago at the age of 16. Such a beautiful child! Henry Cuesta, Jr. ......sweet little boy, tragically killed during a robbery where he was working at a theater. These memories, I’m sure are treasured by their families.

Joe Feeney's performance of "O Holy Night" and Norma Zimmer's rendition of the Gounod/Bach "Ave Maria" were outstanding.
I remember watching the show in the 1970s on chec 6 a shame they switch to pbs 9 the channel i never watch. but I am glad he left some great music
I always loved the kids of Lawrence Welk's musicians on the Christmas shows. I wonder what they are doing today almost 40 years later. Thank you.
