i watched this show under saturday as a kid when i spent weekends with my grandmother and grandaddy. i would put on a show and dance for my grandaddy. watching the lawrence well show is one of my best memories. I miss my grandaddy so much(he passed january of this year, 2024), and we loved watching this show so so much
The Lawrence Welk show was the Classiest weekly program to grace the TV screen for 30 yrs. This level of talent and entertainment in music, song and dance is just not done in 2023 and will probably never be matched. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL !
I remember watching the Lawrence Welk show when I spent the weekend at my grandparents house as a kid. ❤
Me too! So many memories!
Peace & Life Everlasting with Jesus 💝
Pray for guidance and wait Patiently 💝
They were all so beautiful, so talented, pleasant & nice.
Very talented musicians in a very anesthetisizing setting
It's just a privilege to watch shows from the best era of music, i suppose.
My parents loved watching this show. It was great to watch something wholesome, not like today. Thanks for allowing this to be watched.💙😊👏
Watched the show with my grandmother. ❤❤❤❤❤
i was very young sitting at my grandparents knee watching this show with them. They never missed an episode. Me and my sister dancing around mocking, would crack them up...until i bumped into the table with the glass figurines, then fun time was over.
Nothing like the quality of the 70s and80s!!
It’s really a HUGE shame that they hardly ever air programs from 1955-1968!
They use to…. All the 60s shows did have reruns but only in the 80-90s. Nowadays they only show 70-80s shows
This was a wonderful episode and picture I don't see PBS televise them in a long time. 😇🎼
I was visiting my dad yesterday and he only gets a few TV channels where he lives and one of the PBS channels showed an episode at about 10 or 11 am so its still on in atleast some areas
Wow that marimba playing was literally one of the most impressive things i think I've ever seen.
Thankyou and grateful.
Neither one of the PBS stations carry Lawrence Welk in my area.
Soon there will be none...
Grammy sure loved on our black and white TV
I rememeber watching this w my grandparents, what awesome , amazing memories ❤️
This was my Saturday afternoon lineup when I was a kid in the 70s. Started off with Rat Patrol, then Victory at Sea. After that was Star Trek, MASH, Wild Wild West, Hee Haw, Sha Na Na, and Lawrence Welk. The lineup ended with Happy Days and Lavern & Shirly. Or Barney Miller, depending. Now, I am not a professional critic, but that is one STELLAR lineup. Oh, it varied depending on the season and what holidays were going on, but that's pretty typical. My dad was the Lawrence Welk fan. Our TV antenna was on this tower bolted to the house. To get the best picture, he sent me up to the roof with a pair of Channel Locks. My brother would stand at the window to relay the orders. I would turn the pole slowly and my brother would yell "STOP! Back up a little...RIGHT THERE! No...back more...THERE! Tighten the clamp!" while my dad watched the picture. lol Sitting in the living room eating off TV trays and I was also the remote control. We had channel 6 (NBC) 8 (CBS) and 13 (ABC) and if the weather was good, we could get 4 (PBS) out of Ft. Wayne. That was a rare treat. Don't get me started on the awesome Saturday morning cartoons and shows...!
I love the pianist and conductor. Performers seemed happier back then.
My Dziadek and Babcia adored his music specials...me too!
Norma Zimmer can clearly be heard on Bing Crosby's original White Christmas. The largest selling record of all time. Bing was regular watcher of the show, too.
I recently recognized her in the background of Bing's "Adeste Fideles" as well.
There are more but I just mentioned the most famous.@@LawrenceWelkLPs
The wipb logo is the station I watch on in Muncie Indiana
Thanks for another great video! Is this the one that will be airing on PBS tonight?
Was on every Saturday night on CBS during my first few years of school. That was sure television than. Back then when a person who was spreading their legs and having children and collecting, they would certainly hear about it from their parents. Back then parents got to punish you as long as you lived under their roof.
My grandmother used to watch this show.🧵🔊
And I’m Doonice 😂
I always hoped Welk would invite Black Sabbath to be on his show. That would have been cool!!
Maybe if they had invited him to join them on tour first he would have reciprocated...
Only fools rush in "is a religious tale!!!
As a kid in the 60s , couldnt stand this show lol😅
I didn't like it either but have been watching it for the last 35 years or so.
And I'm Dooneese
That one girl needs to get bangs
