    This is amaxing, congratulations on this achievement. I was one of the people who voted for it to become a LEGO set. I am revisiting this video to show my son who still builds LEGO. I bought a Moomin advent calendar so now have a set of figures that need to be housed and i remembered this project. I am unsure right now how we'd get the bricks we need. If anyone reading this has any advice, i'd gratefully accept it.

    Amazing! It's a pity that Lego rejected this idea.

    Made a LEGO Ideas account just to support this. You did an amazing job, despite all the limitations. It looks like an official Lego set! All it needs is some official Moomin Lego Minifigures :D Perhaps we'll get to see some of those if this becomes a reality. There is potential for so many more sets too, like a small Snufkin's tent set, the Witch's hut, Snork & Snorkmaiden's home, the floating theatre, Snork's flying ship... I would buy them all honestly lol

    • @Bonefoot
      @Bonefoot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you so much for doing that! Additional sets would be amazing, but I think those would be a bit too niche to get 10 000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, so it would probably have to be a direct collaboration deal between Moomin and LEGO if it were to ever happen. However, I'm personally considering building more Moomin related things just for myself, for fun. ^^

    • @KuutinKujeet
      @KuutinKujeet 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, that's what I was thinking. If this does get the attention of Moomin Characters and they start working on an actual series of Moomin Lego sets :D but just the Moominhouse would be honestly amazing.

      @@TheLukaszencja It'll cost you a fortune to get all the parts, but the way you do it is you make an account on bricklink.com, then open my Moominhouse file with Studio 2.0 and login to your bricklink account on that software, then you can import the digital design into a bricklink wishlist, and with that wishlist, you can go and start buying the parts you need on the bricklink website. Sounds complicated, but it's quite simple. The hardest part is finding sellers who have the most amount of parts you need for the least amount of money. A single seller isn't going to have all 2999 parts, so you need to buy from multiple sellers, so you have to do a lot of comparing to make sure you're getting the best prices for each different kind of part.

    This is amazing! So much detail, despite the smaller dimensions. Excellent work! Have you got a video showing the larger version? How many pieces was it originally?
    I found you via reddit bc I was searching for moomin stuff after being nearly a year into my de agostini subscription to build the moominhouse. Very excited for that, but it's a loooong subscription, just over 2 years! At @ £1200 😳
    I wonder how much lego would have charged for yours? 🤔
    I'm honestly pretty shocked that lego didn't pick up your idea...I would have thought that a collab between them and moomin would be very profitable for both sides, especially if they made smaller kits for the other residences/characters etc.
    Keep your eyes open for them stealing your idea! Read the small print on your submission...AFAIK, after so long, ideas submitted to a company becomes their property, and they can release it without cutting the originator in.
    I would have bought it if they had approved your submission, I'll boycott it if they steal it tho! I think you'd have a LOT of support if that was to happen as well. Hopefully it won't!
    Great to see your build in detail, thanks for sharing it 😊

    • @Bonefoot
      @Bonefoot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I haven't done a full-on video about the larger Moominhouse, but I did show it off a little bit in this livestream, 1 hour into it: th-cam.com/video/P_ZNQKY_sFk/w-d-xo.html. That prototype version is around 5500 pieces.
      Since my Moominhouse submission has ~3000 pieces, the final version would've probably cost anywhere between 250 and 350 euros in stores.
      I think LEGO and Moomin fit together perfectly too! I think the biggest reasons for them not approving the idea was the big size of it, and also the fact that Moomins are virtually unknown in North America, which is a big market for LEGO.
      I would love if LEGO did decide to make Moomin sets later on! I don't mind even if they would take some ideas from my set. I just want LEGO Moomin sets!
      Thanks for the comment! ^^

    This is very great build, but if you don't know yet, the room next to Moominpappa's office was shown in episode 65 "The Fancy-Dress Ball" when Snorkmaiden and little My went there searching for wigs.

    • @Bonefoot
      @Bonefoot  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Good spotting! I think I missed that when I was designing the build, but I do remember it now. Fortunately, there wouldn't have been any space to recreate that room anyways, so I don't think my design would have changed, since I would have still wanted to prioritize making Moominpappa's office as accurate as I could.

    • @Bonefoot
      @Bonefoot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oooh, exciting! I would love to see pictures of your Moominhouse when it's done!
      There is supposed to be a way to get Studio 2.0 to automatically generate building instructions, but I could personally never get it to work, so I unfortunately can't help with that.
      The way I built it using Studio 2.0 is extremely cumbersome, but basically I just kept using the feature that makes the bricks you select invisible. I would start with the ground floor section at the very bottom of the build, take a look at the entire floor directly from the side, use my mouse to select everything except the very bottom row of bricks and make them invisible. I would then build the very bottom of the house and after that, I would reset the invisible bricks and this time make everything invisible except the two most bottom rows of bricks. And slowly build the entire house like this, going one layer of bricks at a time. It is quite annoying, but it worked.
      You can see me doing it this way in this timelapse video: twitter.com/Bonefoot/status/1323903370776764416
