Her art is "strange" in a magnificent and unique way. Her songs have layers, she is the opposite of obvious.

One of the most beautiful songs ever made.

This is her all time best song for me. There’s a lot of contenders but this is the one I’ll listen to any time, even when I haven’t listened to Björk for a while. I don’t think I’ve ever skipped it.

She’s absolutely superb. Björk is such a phenomenal artist in every sense with an extraordinary creative range that harnesses and conveys emotions so powerfully.
Would definitely recommend exploring more of her work, maybe live performances like these of her earlier work:

I recently got to see her live and 20+ years later, she can still do it just the same as you see here. Stunning.

Same here, it was shocking how well preserved her voice is

    • @razrv3lc
      @razrv3lc ปีที่แล้ว

@@mariotoro6927what’s really shocking is that she had nodules, had surgery to remove them, and her voice sounds practically the same still. Usually that surgery will change a voice, at least a little.

She produces all of her own stuff and writes and arranges much of the orchestral/string arrangements. This performance was completely acoustic but she is a complete pioneer in electronic music and sampling as well. A true musical genius.

    Nice reaction.
Weird? Yes some kind of weirdness in her music and stage presence.
I follow her since her debut album, called Debut (1992), with a very good song, Human Behavior.
She is rather versatile in her music, Artpop, avant garde, electronica, experimental music, pop, jazz.
    Seen her once, was impressed.
Still listen to her music once in a while.

You couldn't have picked a better intro to Bjork than this live performance on Jools Holland's show. Please listen to the other song she did that night, Bachelorette. The live vocal is extraordinary and mesmerising. It's on TH-cam, include Jools in the search and check she is wearing the same dress ;-)

Lmao your live reaction is so me. It’s a lot of 🤨🤨🤨🤨 then when you’re past the first 30 seconds or so you realize how emotional the music is. She’s real

This entire album is amazing. Bjork in general is one of the few artists that hits me right in the feels so consistently, whether live or studio recordings. I recommend All is Full of love, the music video version, but focus on the music, as great as the video is the music is stunning.

I had the pleasure of seeing Bjork live in 2008 and she had at least half of the audience holding each other and crying. She's absolutely perfect. I'd look into some of the Royal Opera House performances. She, like Aurora, is best experienced in live performances, although her videos are always interesting and beautiful. You should also look into some videos of Bjork talking about her music. I think her and Aurora are very similar in a lot of ways, and I believe Aurora cites Bjork as an inspiration.

Your comments are exactly how I felt, but maybe couldn't articulate as well, the first time I heard her. What you picked up on with her being in tune with non-materialistic things, is absolutely true. Her music is almost a sonic expression of nature and really speaks to her upbringing in Iceland. In the studio version of this she actually samples the cracking and shifting of glaciers and mixes it into the percussion. My favorite song of all time and I'm so lucky to have seen her perform it last month. Great review!

I first heard bjork when I was 18 - i think the first thing i heard was 'regina' with her in the sugarcubes and also 'birthday' which was also her in the sugarcubes. And then when she went solo - joga is one of my favourites definitely. she does sound like she's channelling some sort of otherworldly energy; I get that. She just lets go.

You definitely understand the great performer that she is. I would recommend reacting to more live versions of her songs, for example:

A TV show performance of So Broken with killer vocals

    Thanks for this video.
Most people fail to appreciate Bjӧrk's music because of her "weirdness" or whatever.
You, instead, let the music sink in and really felt it. And yes, once you get Bjӧrk, it's damn rewarding.

I have seen performances where she moves quite randomly. I think that she has no inhibitions and lets her body do, whatever it wants to do. It's like children when they dance, when they still haven't learned sense of ridiculousness. You'll know what I mean, If you chech a performance when she was with Tapi Tikarras. Not 100 % sure about the name of the group.
