Mike Rodriguez glad you got it to work. I remember how excited I was when I got my Homepod but when I got back to my hotel room, boom “connection error”. I was so frustrated! I searched for hours to find a solution.

Ok this worked for me... so what you do is just connect your iPhone with LTE into your mac. DO NOT CONNECT TO THE HOTSPOT ON MAC THROUGH THE TOP TOOL BAR... Go to System Preferences -> Network and then you should see the option to connect to the iPhones Hotspot through USB through that menu... Next you go into System Preferences -> Sharing then turn on Internet sharing by checking the box and check the box on the lower right menu and check everything just to be safe. Set the name of the shared network AND BE SURE TO EITHER CHANGE THE PASSWORD OR KNOW THE PASSWORD THAT THEY PRESET. And then you can go onto your iPhone and connect to your macs network with the name and Password you set and then you should reset your HomePod by disconnecting the HomePod and then plugging back in. pressing and holding the top until siri prompts 3 beeps.. and you should be set.. it might take a bit to reset but it should do the trick!
