They are quiet too! I had a set of these on a Ford F350 4x4 crew cab diesel and they worked absolutely fantastic! I just put a new set on in November to replace the original ones. I put those tires through hell and back and never failed me. I will out these on my JT when it comes in. I absolutely love these tire and would recommend them to anyone. I out my first set on about 3 years ago and nobody knew nothing about them at the time. My tire guy recommended them to me and I trusted him so I kept him out them on my truck. I am so glad I did and thank him for introducing me to this brand tire. You are spot on with everything you said about them. Thank you for sharing my friend.

I get that load rating I have read some review that said they where squirrley towing a trailer irk what truck they had or how much air in the tire or they may have had all the weight on the back of the trailer for all I know I have a Chevy 2011 1500 I have fierce attitudes mt right now 285/70/17 they are around 1000 for 4 if I get the milestars 6-700 install

The brown is an ozone agent that comes from within the tire to protect against UV rays. My BFG KO2's are really brown too. Adam's Tire and Rubber Cleaner does a good job of cleaning up the browning or at least making it less brown. If you top with a tire dressing it will make them look black....even if applies sparingly so you don't get sling.

Hi There, I currently run the BFG KO2's but have been looking at the Patagonia for a little while as a replacement. The only thing I am unable to confirm is the tires snow/ice performance. I drive in the Sierra Nevada range in the winter time, and many times there are chain controls. I generally never have to use chains on my KO2's which are snow rated and marked as such on the tire. Could be powder, slush, or very cold icy conditions. Appreciate feedback!

Just an FYI, Yup larger tires can have balance issues,, I run commercial tires--hard to balance right. Run centramatic ballancers behind your tires, you will hyper balance them and get more miles out of your tires! Mud tires actually have a harder compaound than all terrain type radials, you will see more chipping and feathering on an all terrain than you will on a mud tire. Mud tires wear longer..

the brown is the anti aging chemicals same as metzler tires. they claim they don't fully cure till a few good heat cycles. but after you say 7,500 miles should be good. so sidewall is still preventing dry rot.

It all depends on a persons driving style and maintenance. I am easy on my Jeep and am very strict on maintenance with that said though I think you can get alot of life out of an mt tire if you do regular maintenance ie rotations balance if needed and allighnments. I took them off after a year and sold them. Rode great at first and then wore terrible despite rotating. Had alignment checked and it was within acceptable limits. Road noise got loud and at low speed could practically feel every lug as it hit the pavement. Maybe a good tire for a heavier pick up truck but on a 2 dr JK, it was like driving a dump truck. Sold them and bought some Dick Cepek trail country EXP’s, an aggressive A/T and soooooo much better.
