I run Patagonia MT's on my 97F250HD, and love them. Many big name off roaders swear by the milestar Patagonia MT's, and Matt from Matt's offroad recovery swears by them. Especially in rocky, sandy trails.

Matt used to run Goodyear Duratracs as his go to tire to bring home the bacon. He did a segment as to why he now runs the milestars, and he switched not because they are the best, but because they are best in the sand. He explained the Patagonias were able to go down to extremely low tire pressures and floated the sand the best. His son Rudy still runs the Duratracs on his XJ. And as most who watch them know, they get the job done and are a good indication as to what really is what when work-horsing your tires.

Im at the 1 year mark with these tires on a 99 k1500 with 1 ton sas. ZERO ISSUES. 60% highway/40% offroad . I rotated at around 5000 mi and didnt have any cupping. worked excellent on snowpacked and icey roads in Montana. over the summer they did the exact route of the 2020 ultimate adventure. Mud,rocks, steep inclines on loose gravel, water crossings and even an abandoned railroad tunnel. no problems. currently aired down and handling deep snow during Montana elk hunting season like a champ. worth ever cent.

I'm running the 37 12.50 17s on my 2016 Ram Power wagon, loaded with tools and supplies it weighs 9800, and I love them. They wear ok, no cupping, and I have rotated mine 3 times in about 18000 MI. I've had them to Moab Utah for a total of about 2 weeks worth of Wheeling on two separate trips, driving there 7 hours one way. I frequently pull a 30 ft toy hauler, a 35 ft Forest River windjammer travel trailer, and when I'm not doing that I pull a 4,500 lb dump trailer that has a mini excavator in it that weighs 8300. The last MTs I had on this Power wagon were 35" Cooper stt pros and they got shredded on the rocks. Now I've went on two separate trips on the same rocks with these patagonias and they're not even damaged, so I would say they're probably the best Mt I've ever had specially for $250 a piece.

I run 35x12.5 R15. since Feb on my truck as a daily driver and These tires are the best quality in my opinion! I bought mines on Amazon for 740 all 4 free shipping. I've taken them to the snow and mud and they do not disappoint! You need to run them on max psi so they don't wear out un evenly, and yes the tires grip really good!! It doesn't have that cheap plastic feeling to the tire. I'd recommend these tires to anyone, it's a great quality tire at the best price! Yes they do great in the rain and I have a 6inch lift! They are still quiet on mine.

I have the Milestar Patagonia LT315/70R17 M/T on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I have over 57,000 km on this unit, and had them on a traded in Sport S that had 27,000. I rotate them every 3000 km, and they work great in the minu 35 C cold and deep snow in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I love this tire, and I plan to go to a 38 inch tire after I can afford to install the Teraflex 4.5 inch lift this coming winter. I had to get the tire pressure right, at 37 psi, to get the best flat wear pattern.

I heavily considered these Patigonia's while building a wheel and tire package for my CJ-7. I ended up going with the Dick Cepek extreme country instead and for my needs I think that was the right choice. I recently picked up a set of Kenda Klever AT2's for my Sequoia and I have to say so far I like them a lot better then the KO2'S I had previously. Love these videos, nobody else show the tires features up close with a detailed explanation. Keep up the good work!

@@CampusautoCo I will give my thoughts so far about the Kenda Klever at2. I only have about 6k miles on the Kenda's so far but I have had the chance to drive them in just about every condition. I live in north Idaho so we get pretty significant winters. These Kenda's replaced some bfg KO2's that only had about 10k miles on them. I replaced the KO2's because I had a vibration at highway speeds that I couldn't get rid of after several attempts to rebalance. In deep snow the Kenda's are better then the KO2's, in snow deeper the 4 or 5 inches the Kenda's dig much better. The KO2's tended to make a hole for themselves and just spin. On the hard packed/icy roads the Kenda's are WAY better. The KO2's would spin easily while accelerating and would lock up easily while braking. The Kenda's are much more manageable in these conditions. In the mud the Kenda's perform well and tend to clean out much better then the KO2's, they are no mud tire but they will do their job as long as you don't get too crazy. At freeway speeds both of these tire are about the same with a slight increase in noise with the Kenda's but not much. The Kenda's are much smoother over rough roads. I will give the KO2's some love as far as durability as the sidewalls do appear to be a little tougher but the Kenda's seem on par with other tires I have used in this category, the KO2's just seemed to have a very stout sidewall/carcass. All in all I would definitely recommend the Kenda Klever AT2's over the BFG KO2's based off of my experience, the Kenda's perform better in almost every way and are roughly 1/2 the price. The Kenda's also come with a 50k-60k treadwear warranty ( depending on load range) and they are mountain/snowflake rated. I think these Kenda's could become a very popular tire once availability becomes better.

Had a set of these years ago on a 2015 Ram 1500 and now just bought a set for my JKU build. It's a 2014 and I didn't want to stick a ton of cash into it and had decent luck with these years ago even in the MN winters. Are there better options? Absolutely!! But, for the $1200 installed price they are hard to beat and I agree with the "try it" conclusion.

I know its a year old video but my 2c. I was considering these tires for my 03 f250 super duty 6.8 v10. For a "budget tire" in the size I wanted (285 75 16) they were damn near the same price as the bfg ko2's I was replacing. A bit more looking at different options I came across the thunderer trac grip m/t and thought they looked pretty rad. Read the limited reviews I found on them and surprisingly they were pretty good. After some searching they were cheaper but not much less than the milestars. Then just by chance after looking online for a good price I looked at Walmart and they had the thunderer trac grip on rollback and I bought them at 120.00 each in 285 75 16. With tax it was 522 and change with free shipping to the store. I mounted them myself and my tire shop charged me 100 to balance them since I didn't buy them through them. So 622 bucks and 3 years later they still look great. I work in construction and have hat them in every condition you could throw at them and they have been great. I think I've rotated them 2 times in the 3 years. They are a little noisy but I like that kind if stuff. I highly recommend them if you can get a deal like I did. If you're paying 225 to 250 a tire for a "budget tire" there are so many better options out there with name brands. All in all I'm extremely happy with them definitely exceeded my expectations.

I wheel in the South East and have heard about and seen these tires quite a bit. General consensus is they are very good in the west and drier climates for crawling etc. But are not very good in wet or muddy conditions. It's got a little patina on it and I'm going to keep it as stock looking as possible. I think those tires would look good on there. It's kind of a farm truck but it's got nice trim and this funky factory hard vinyl roof that reminds me of rhino liner. I found out from the VIN number there was not too many of them made. I've been running these for almost two years on an F150 with a 12" Bulletproof lift, 10" Atlas springs in the rear with Sulastic springs/shackles, that I use as a daily and pull a 20ft car hauler. I still have well over half tread left on mine and they feel much better in the rain and snow than other tires I've used similar in size, tread, etc. Before I had these I had Nitto's, and Toyo's and neither one rode as well nor lasted as long. Both had way more road noise than these as well.
Make sure you run enough pressure in these though or you will have the feathering issue that other's have had. These are crowned tires and need to ride on the center portion of the tread not all the across like say a Toyo M/T. As for balancing I just use beads in mine and have never had an issue. I think I put like 10 oz or so in each tire if I remember correctly.

"You're living the high life if you've got Patagonia tires" LMAO!!
One thing I learned about these tires from Lite-Brite was concerning air pressure. They're made to have a crown and only really run on the center rib on the pavement, so if you try to do the chalk test to get an even contact with the ground, you'll be running pressure that's actually way too low for the street.

Got 38" paties on my '84 1 ton chevy they are good. 33-35psi all the time no matter what you used to do w deflating mud tires for highway(bc hybrids need to ride down the middle why they are quiet)

  • @jayknot6684
    @jayknot6684 2 ปีที่แล้ว

If you find yourself needing to rotate them that often it's more than likely because you are running the wrong tire pressure. If you run too low a pressure on a crowned tread like this one that's one of the issues you can have along with feathering and cupping. You should be running on just the middle of the tire and not all across the tread.

I bought a set about 4 yrs ago, put them on a jacked up dodge i use for running to the lumber store, taking the boat to the lake and for driving in the snow here in Michigan. I probably put 15-20 thousand miles on them and never rotated them. I sold the truck and they still had decent tread on them, only slight cupping, and the set was under 500 dollars mounted and balanced from discount. I found them online and had to order them, but i liked them better than the $1,100 dollar BF Goodrich all terrains and they were barley louder on the highway driving 80. I'd buy them again.
Im looking for a all terrain for my tundra to pull a small converted cargo trailer, I'll be driving out west from Washington down to Montana into Nevada and back thru utah. What do you recommend for a lot of highway driving and going off road too? I've looked at the grabber at/x and hankook dynapro, but just started looking. Im looking thru your videos for a all terrain video, and thought I'd give my two cents on this tire. I'd give them a 4.5 out of 5 star.

Yeah, I loved this tire too... until I needed it to perform properly when it ran low. The tire looks good and performed well - until I it started to go low on the highway. I was going 65 on the open highway when I felt a shimmer. As I began to realize I might be getting a flat - boom, it exploded on me! I’m lucky it was a rear tire or I may have had a serious injury. When I say it exploded I’m not overstating what happened. Absolute catastrophic failure. Wish I could post pictures here. I’ll never trust this tire again.

@@KurNorock My post was not about YOU, your experience or your opinion. This post is MY experience. Out of the hundreds of tires I’ve owned and driven on in my relatively long lifetime, this is the only tire that ever exploded while I was using it. You are 100% incorrect in that this IS extremely specific and IS extremely unique to MY experience. If YOU have a different experience then go make your own productive post somewhere and try to help others. Don’t just pull some flippant comment out of your ass, with hopes of getting noticed, by posting a completely incorrect assessment of MY personal experience and MY personal post, which I chose to make so others will have some additional input to analyze while making their decisions. I’m sure your mom thinks you’re important and believes that your opinions matter, so you can feel good about that at least, but good grief I’d think you’re old enough to know better than to randomly spew out your lame ass opinions and expect people to pay attention to you. Too quiet in my opinion. If I’m going to have M/T’s, I want to be heard a mile away if I’m on the pavement lol. If I want quiet tires, well I just wouldn’t get M/T’s. Just my personal preference. Price point is great. Rock crawling and snow capability is great. Super quiet (which to me is a negative). I think this is a top choice for a more off-road focused vehicle/person who is going to be chewing up rubber like skittles. In my opinion, if you’re not competing, DOT PAT’s are very well rounded and you won’t be impacted as much financially when the time comes to replace.

Ok tire fans, here's the real truth about the Patagonia MT.
Its an average to good tire that when it was $ 280.00 for a 37x12.50x17 it wasn't a bad tire.
But there is no effin way it is a $ 400.00 dollar tire.
Now for the low down from a Patagonia customer. That's me. I've now run three (3) sets of the 37x12.50x17 over the last two and a half years.
You will get about 25,000 miles before they are down to the tread bars/ If all you want is a ''slick rock'' crawler for the Moab area, its not all that bad. But if you expect to get more than 20,000 to 30,000 miles out of it then forget this tire. It just doesnt get it, any more than a Joe Biden supporter thinks it was a good idea to vote for that clown.
