I'm also a Latter-day Saint. I was so impressed with how kind he was about her religion. Frequently there's at least some jab or put down or "ugh" moment about the need for sleeves. This really warmed my heart.
I'm LDS too, and the part that bothered me the most was that it was backless. For a temple marriage ceremony, it would need long sleeves and a full back. I don't think she realized that.
@@nancywhite5629I was thinking that too! They made a big deal about sleeves but then had a wide open back. An active latter-day saint wouldn't have an open back.
She's doing it in the place she's from, and with her mum! I understand why, even tho ofc there is so many more options in utah. I'm from NZ and I find NZ style much more "me" than the "utah style" if that makes sense
The title of "bride REFUSES to show off her shoulders" is so unnecessarily dramatic. It is a preference for religious purposes. Chill with the clickbaiting.
Too bad about the short sleeves. I had dresses with those sleeves when I was a very little girl. The long sleeves flowed beautifully and were chic IMO. Well, yes, I don’t have to wear it.
What’s with the big tulle bow? I understand the need for modestly, half of my large family are LDS, my dad is from Utah, but I don’t like that weird bow.
second dress muchbetter than the first.. however, just my opinion, it was ruined by the short sleeves.. but its her choice. it was classic and beautiful. much better, with the long sleeves.
There are! I’m LDS and there are gorgeous LDS owned boutiques that specialize in modest wedding dresses. Kinda surprised she didn’t go that route honestly!
@@CAC_1985 I'm LDS from Australia, there are no such things here or you have to order them in from the US which can be expensive as you aren't sure about fit and it's hard to return. I custom made my dress as I'm a fashion designer, so would have done that anyway, but all of my LDS friends here will often just alter an existing dress by putting sleeves on an existing gown or also get a custom made dress.
I like the square neckline but nothing else. :P. The long sleeves gave it a little style - the short sleeves just look off... maybe because the bottom of the sleeve lined up with the top of the square neckline making a very long line across her chest and arms. The poofiness of the short sleeves did not go with the dress. Anyway - it was awkward.
The tied bow at the upper back is a disservice to the otherwise lovely dress. It cheapens it. Hopefully it was a temporary clasp of sorts and the dress closure was finished property
Lots of brides wear their temple clothes - a simple white dress- in the temple and then put on their wedding dress for celebrations after- that’s what I did :)
Young, sweet, naive woman. Swept away in a fast whirlwind romance. Being taken away, far away from friends and family. Religion is a big part of the pending nuptials..... My spidey senses would be screaming. This never sits well with me!
Actually, Mormons are not Christians, but I appreciate their modesty. I wonder if she was wearing her special garment. She'd have to have a special dress to cover that.
The long sleeve was so much more stylish. The shorter sleeve reminded me of a child's dress.
Like Cinderella
Yeah I think the longer sleeve was better to. It looked gorgeous
She seems like a child.
🌟100% agree
The bow in the back , is more noticeably wrong.
I personally...
Liked the long sleeves better
Me too!

You were so respectful of her religion. That was so incredible. Thank you!!
I know we all loved the long sleeves but I’m just so happy that one touch up made HER feel better 💐
Cutting up 3 dresses to make one, that had to be expensive.

@@gwengold8154yep. The back is completely unacceptable for a temple wedding.
@@gwengold8154actually, the square neck more than likely wouldn’t cut it either.
@@dawnlovedobermans yes, I was thinking that too. It's a little low for a neckline.
She would've had a lot more options in Utah. Local shops cater to her needs. I also loved those longer sleeves 😍

Tan really seems just so warm and beautiful. I am from Utah and I feel proud to have him here!
So nice to finally see a dress with sleeves
Was so elegant with the long sleeves. The short sleeve makes it look like a child's confirmation dress.
Jay! I was so surprised and appreciative of how you talked about the LDS people. Often people won't go into that much detail! You're lovely!
As someone who has been bullied for my religion, I really appreciate how respectful and accommodating this guy was!!!
This was the best episode of this show I have seen. It was so respectful of her religion and she looks beautiful 😍
It looked better with the long sleeves.
I LOVE and am immensely appreciate how respectful and knowledgeable Tan is to our religion. 😭🥰 Thank you.
That bow though.😮
Yes, the big bow in the back.
Why?
Again, it makes her look like a child even more.
The title of "bride REFUSES to show off her shoulders" is so unnecessarily dramatic. It is a preference for religious purposes. Chill with the clickbaiting.
Long sleeves gave the Heaven kind of feeling.. it made her look like a rockstar bride in heaven. I absolutely loved the long sleeves.
Ruined a perfectly stylish dress by ripping the sleeves...
He gave the customer what she wanted.
But she wanted short sleeves and it's HER dress...
I loved the bow - it gave the dress a unique touch.
To each her own...need to respect the wishes of the bride❤
How noble of you lol
The puffy sleeves and bow made it a child’s dress!😂
I'm surprised she could have the open back. I thought it was supposed to be covered. The long sleeved dress was beautiful!
Depends on how active she is also you can have an open back but you’d have to wear a shirt underneath
Apparently she's not getting married in the secret temple sealing ceremony.
I liked the longer sleeves
So impressed with his respect for her religion and what she wanted.
Tan shows love

yeah, I liked everything about the dress, but the bow
Yeah it’s not my fav haha
As long as she feels beautiful, and it’s paper white, all will be well and right. ❤️
The long sleeves made the dress look beautiful.
Would have left it puffed added sparkle to sleeves and made it long lace sleeves! Then it's perfection!
They said sparkle. There's no sparkle.
Accessories add sparkle. That said, I haven't seen many LDS brides wear bling.
long sleeve wedding dresses are my favourite
second dress muchbetter than the first.. however, just my opinion, it was ruined by the short sleeves.. but its her choice. it was classic and beautiful. much better, with the long sleeves.
I'm very sure the LDS will not accept a fairly backless dress
If she wants to wear her temple garments under it she probs got it altered in the back
So it’s ok to have an open back. But no shoulders on show….
Yeah, if she’s getting married in LDS temple the back would need to be covered as well 😅
I preferred the short sleeves on the gown, beautiful!🙂
Wow the bride is really beautiful
I believe modesty in dress includes NOT wearing a low back dress.
What is up with that ridiculous bow?!?! Ruins the whole thing!
Surely there are bridal specialty shops?
There are! I’m LDS and there are gorgeous LDS owned boutiques that specialize in modest wedding dresses. Kinda surprised she didn’t go that route honestly!
She wanted to shop with her mom. Maybe a modest or LDS shop wasn't nearby.

3 dresses and that's what they come up with 😮🤔😒 sorry 😢
The back is totally open. Lol. I'm assuming they are planning to put fabric in there cause that's for sure not temple ready with the back open.
I loved the long sleeves🥲🥲 but I’m glad the bride got what she wanted
What would have happened if she didn't like the dress...? Who pays?
I love Tan!!!!

# 1 is for an old lady.
#2 for a nun and with short sleeves for a child 😮
Wow, absolutely beautiful
The tied bow at the upper back is a disservice to the otherwise lovely dress. It cheapens it. Hopefully it was a temporary clasp of sorts and the dress closure was finished property
I didn’t like any of the dresses. They could have found better long sleeve dresses and modest.
Sad looking dress
The saddest looking dress was Meghan Markle's ill fitting and plain wedding dress. That was an utter mess considering it was bespoke and cost 1000s!
Sad looking dress, sad looking young lady.
I love her dress! 💗
Looks lovely, but could she have moved her hair out of the way, so the dress could be seen! Nice job. 😊
While the sleeves are lovely - short or long, she needs a back for the dress as well..
I prefered it with the long slevves better.
Otherwise underdatand her wishes
She s a beautyfull young woman
What if she didnt like the dress though 🗿🗿🗿 would they still make her pay for it? that was a massive risk
Open back doesnt work. Having a laege bow there wontvwork for temple either.
Lots of brides wear their temple clothes - a simple white dress- in the temple and then put on their wedding dress for celebrations after- that’s what I did :)
Don’t the dresses have to be a certain shade of white?
No. Just white. And modest.
No.
No to the short sleeves not as nice as the usual dresses
Ummm…. “Bland” is the only thing coming to mind🤷🏻♀️
Those sleeves look too tight around her arm 😮.
Wow!!
That’s gonna be expensive
????covered shoulders but a bare back seem contradictory.
no !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very plain, unattractive dress. I'm glad she liked it though & wish her the best.
She will need a back on that.

She is endoctored.
INDOCTRINATED.
No the dress is so boring. It could be so so much better.😮
Actually, Mormons are not Christians, but I appreciate their modesty. I wonder if she was wearing her special garment. She'd have to have a special dress to cover that.
They are though.
The bow is too high at the back, it needs to be a fraction lower, you shouldn’t be able to see it from the front, peeking over her shoulders.
