During the entire exam, at random points every like 2 minutes or so, a popup surprise question would show up in the bottom right corner and youd have to answer it in 10 seconds or it deducts points. If you need anything, just send me an email to ask_arbel@jobtestprep.com and I'll do my best to help. Good luck! Arbel
I also have my test coming up soon too! I had no idea how to study for it so I used Lumosity for a while just to exercise my brain and after finding a few videos about what to expect online, I’m definitely tailoring my “studying” as best as I can! Super nervous LOL
The only issue is my test is not in-person...I didn't know that I would be selected for additional testing. I've never taken a test like this, so I don't know what to expect. I have until the 17th to open and take it. And there will be 2 additional test if I pass this critcall test...there will be writing and excel, that much I was notified of when they emailed saying I was selected as eligible for employment.
I'm hoping the JobTestPrep is HARDER than the test. My test is tomorrow.. I've been doing this prep for a week now every single day. I have finished it all and prioritization and memory of vins are my concern. I do have a question. On the keyboarding, do they do they show errors as you type as in the study guide? Thanks also for the great guide. If I pass, it will be due to JobTestPrep..
You probably took the test already but I took mine today; to answer your question I would say the test prep is a little more difficult than the actual test. It depends on the department you're working for at the end of the day but everything in the testprep was not on the test. Everything on my test was included in the test prep though. On the keyboard portion of the actual test no errors are shown as you type (or at all).
First of all, are you sure you'll be tested on math skills? Not all places use that part of the CritiCall. In any case, I definitely understand. Every one of us has strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend practicing our CritiCall pack to brush up on your skills. Among common and less common modules you will find prioritization practice tests and mathematics prep - basic, intermediate, and advanced - www.jobtestprep.com/criticall-test-practice
Are you referring to the ECOMM test? www.nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/ntn-test-ecomm.cfm If so, I do believe that the CritiCall preparation is a good substitute for the test - www.jobtestprep.com/criticall-test-practice You can also check the general Dispatcher Test Preparation page - www.jobtestprep.com/dispatcher-test-prep There are many similarities between these PrepPacks and the ECOMM test, so they will help you practice the necessary skills to ace the ECOMM test, although it won't be in the exact same format as the actual test. Also know that many previous customers preparing for the ECOMM test purchased one of these two PrepPacks.
The wording on the Waste collection question doesn't make sense. The vehicle turns left two blocks AFTER 55th st. which makes sense to turn onto 53rd. But the wording "Then turns left AFTER three MORE blocks" would mean the vehicle would turn onto 47th ave. not 47A ave. the wording should be the same as before like "the vehicle turns left 2 blocks 49th ave."
I am going to do this test on 29th august . I am still very bad at data entry. I passed all other modules but finding this very hard. I mean lot of information to enter in very restricted time period . Any suggestions would be really helpful... thanks

@@JobtestprepUk Thanks for the info! Yes, I had the second stage last Tuesday and the third and final stage is an interview. I am waiting for the results for stage two. which was data entry. I will have to see what my result is and if I pass.
@@JobtestprepUk So I got my results and I didn't get through! So I'll apply again next year. Can I ask, how long the subscription is for your material? I think the UK version would benefit me more..
Hello Sarah, I get how you feel- I used to get test anxiety all the time. Please remember that you approach the test to give it your best performance, and that's all that is going to happen. Good luck!
Hi! Use of the CritiCall Test depends on the police department or agency you're applying to, but some of the biggest departments in Texas use it, like Austin, Houston, Dallas, and more. Good luck!
The question specifies the whole route the vehicle is taking and it's stated that after the last turn left the vehicle empties the first trash can. The last turn is from 47A Avenue to 54th Street, and the nearest trash can is between the city college and the dormitory. Because the parking lot is the farthest from the container, of the four options given to you, it is the least likely to use the aforementioned waste container.
I'm only 14 but I want to become one, is it possible that I can like to call them (after COVID-19) and do something like a sit along. I'm in Ontario Canada so it may be different here.
Are you talking about a 911 dispatch sit along? If so, there's a good chance it will be possible. Many institutes encourage citizens to come to a sit-along or a ride-along. I suggest you go to your local police department website, see if you can find answers there, and if you don't find any, send them an email and ask them nicely if that would be possible. Good luck! Arbel
Roads to be paved in the future - It is simply a way to confuse you and make the question slightly harder. And I apologize, it should have been "future" and not "futere", I can't believe I missed it. Arbel
I believe it's very important to prepare yourself for the test. It's not just to get better and improve your skills, it's also to get used to the kinds of questions and the time pressure. You want to familiarize yourself with the test and just wing it on test day.
There are many more sample questions on the CritiCall page but the full practice tests are only inside the pack - www.jobtestprep.com/criticall-test-practice
@@kimberlysanchez3025 this guide pretty much explained the gist of it, but I found that the channel The Raspy Dispatcher did a very solid job of what it was exactly like! Map portion of it was very straight forward, the part where you have to type a bunch of stuff and also respond to the emergency call at the bottom was very challenging but I got through it! It’s an easy test but has very challenging and hard sections
I just applied for the job 2 days ago in new york waiting to hear back im already stressing and it hasn’t even been a week lol im already watching videos and trying to practice very nervous
The Map makes zero sense to me, the truck takes a left after going 2 blocks? But in the picture the truck is turning right? and why wouldn't it stop to pick up garbage at the parking lot when it drives right pass it ?
For the first question, if you look from the truck's perspective, going down 50th Avenue, it turns left on 53rd Street. If you turn around the map in your head you can see it. For the second question, the question is "which location is the least likely to use the waste container?" From 04:22 to 04:28 you can see the exact route the truck is taking, before reaching the container, the one between the city college and the dormitory. Because the parking lot is the farthest from the container, of the four options given to you, it is the least likely to use the aforementioned waste container. And there could be a chance that the vehicle would stop to pick up garbage at the parking lot on its way, but that's not the question.
Yes. The minimum typing speed required from a 911 dispatcher candidate is set by the agency you’re applying to. Overall, it ranges from 15 to 50 WPM (Words per Minute), or 4500 to 15,000 KPH (Keystrokes per Hour). The cutoff score can be around 2,100 KPH in some cases. For 911 dispatchers, it’s recommended to reach typing speed of 35 WPM and to be able to type for at least 5 minutes.
@@JobtestprepUk My county department requires a minimum of 35 words per minute. In mph pre-exam typing test, I was rated at 64 wpm with 98% accuracy. I attribute that to using my wife's laptop and I don't like that keyboard. I've been tested at 95 wpm (after corrections).
I just took the CritiCall test yesterday. I know that I aced the typing portion, because I AM fast and accurate, having been previously tested at 95 wpm with 98% accuracy. However, in my opinion, the limited verbal instructions given by the proctor and the on-screen instructions in the data entry section could have been better. For the first two or three (I can't remember) sections of the data entry portion, I didn't know what to do with the pop-up scenarios as to "which agency should the call go to?". Once I realized that they wanted me to click on something and make a choice, it became more difficult to keep up with the audio of what to enter into the boxes. Let's just say that I completely did not click on an agency for those first three, and let's presume that I did so correctly on the remaining ones. Would that significant affect my test results negatively or, presuming the rest of the test was above average, would I be OK?
Thank you for sharing Mark, this is very helpful information for the rest of us. To answer your question, it can hurt your score a bit, but I do believe that if you've only missed three questions, and the rest of them were answered correctly, you should be OK. Please keep us updated, good luck 🤞
@@JobtestprepUk I received my score yesterday. All it said was that I scored "84", but there was no breakdown of the individual segments of the test. I'd like know which parts I was stronger or weaker on. The way it works in this department, there are at least six -- maybe nine? -- "standing" levels with "1" for scores of 95 and up, "2" for 90-94, "3" for 85-89, "4" for 80-84, and so on. So, I'm in "Standing 4". I also do not know how many scored in each Standing level. There may be NOBODY in "1" or "2". That's possible. There are eight openings, two being lateral transfers and six actual openings for new hires. They'll go with Standing 1, and then 2 and so on until all spots are filled. We'll see.
@@kb6kgx I see, fingers crossed there aren't too many higher levels. It's a shame they don't specify how you did in each section. I do know that in some places you get a detailed score report.
You can always study hard and I'm sure you'll do fine. But yes, the practice of being a 911 Dispatcher involves a lot of writing, which needs good spelling, of course.
Hi, you can find memory recall tests and reading comprehension practice tests in our CritiCall Practice Test PrepPack - www.jobtestprep.com/criticall-test-practice
How do you pass the Prioritization section? That part made absolutely NO sense to me. Also, there were two parts to Call Summarization. I passed one and failed another. What is the criteria they grade on?
The official information regarding the Prioritization section is: "The ability to evaluate and analyze information in order to prioritize or categorize incidents. Test takers are presented with multiple-choice questions that ask them to choose the priority status of a series of situations based on decision rules they are provided." I would say this part should be somewhat intuitive with decision-making skills coming in handy. Read the instructions carefully and try to understand the emergency team priorities. Regarding the Call Summarization section, there are two versions, like you said. This is the official information about them both: First version: "The ability to hear, comprehend, and summarize audible information. Test takers listen to a short story and enter notes about that story into a computer. They are then asked to summarize the story by answering multiple-choice questions. Multi-tasking is also measured using a decision-making task." Second version: "The ability to hear, comprehend, and utilize audible information while accurately entering that information using a keyboard. Test takers listen to a simulated telephone call and enter detailed information into the computer. They must then respond to a series of multiple-choice questions about the information they heard by using the information entered into the computer and/or their memory. Multi-tasking is also measured using a decision-making task." You can see that the first version is by using notes and then recreating the story you hear, while the second version is more like the actual 911 call taker duties - listening to a phone call and typing the information simultaneously. From what I know, the cutoff score is between 65% and 75% success - how much information you got right out of the total amount of information. I believe you mostly just need to pass, but it's always good to get a higher score. By the way, there is also a third version of the Call Summarization, implementing more multi-tasking questions: "Similar to the Call Summarization 2 test, it contains more decision making/multi-tasking items. Its score reflects a combination of the accuracy of the data entered and the responses to both the multi-tasking and multiple-choice items." I hope you find this helpful, let me know if you have any more questions.
the map answer makes no sense. how can the college use the waste container when it is PAST the container on a one-way street? a truck would have to go AROUND THE BLOCK to use it
If I understand what you are saying, the college uses the waste container like every building uses wast containers, without trucks (janitors use it for example). The truck is only for the city to collect the garbage from the waste containers. I'm sorry if I misunderstood your point.
I know I'm biased, but I do believe our program is tremendously helpful in passing the CritiCall test. If you have any specific questions you are welcome to send me a direct email - ask_arbel@jobtestprep.com
One tip I can give you is practicing with the "Num Lock" on, so you can work with your right hand on the numeric keypad, and do so on the test. It's much faster than working with the numbers at the top of the keyboard, and it goes along well with the letters. Good luck! Arbel
Are you expecting me to pay $40 for a test program, where spelling is essential, and you have the word "Future" spelled incorrectly? Yikes. Edit: I also took your practice test and you have another spelling error on question 7/10. "A man calls in reporting about his loud neighbors. e claims..." e does what now?! I did get a perfect score with plenty of time remaining. Also, from experience, our 911 center does not ask "what is the nature of your emergency" as their first question. They ask for the location of the emergency. This is done on purpose that in the event the call is lost they can still dispatch an emergency crew to location as a means to identify the issue and assist immediately.
You are completely right about the spelling, I'm very sorry about that. It should have been "future" and not "futere", I can't believe I missed it. Regarding the spelling error you found in our pack, can you recall the exact practice test and category? I'll get it fixed ASAP. And about your correction, it is very interesting, is it true for all 911 dispatch centers, or is it possible it's different from place to place? And if you are referring to the multi-task questions we offer when you need to choose the right agency, we tried to mirror the real test as close as we could.
@@JobtestprepUk It was smooth! What got me was the multi tasking between the audio and the bottom right hand corner questions. Wishing for the best! Currently waiting on the results.

If you need anything, just send me an email to ask_arbel@jobtestprep.com and I'll do my best to help.
Good luck!

I also have my test coming up soon too! I had no idea how to study for it so I used Lumosity for a while just to exercise my brain and after finding a few videos about what to expect online, I’m definitely tailoring my “studying” as best as I can! Super nervous LOL

Thanks man. This was helpful
I just purchased your program. My test date is on 12/13/2022. Fingers crossed..
How'd it go?
I take it this week I hope I pass
did you pass?
@@marilynnavarrolopez293 no lol because I type kinda slow but thats why but I am gonna retake it because my typing as gotten better
Taking it this Friday so nervous
Wow, good luck! Of course, I recommend practicing beforehand. Let me know if you need any assistance (at ask_arbel@jobtestprep.com).
Heyyy I study your free critiital tests examples & I pass woot woot.
Congratulations! We're happy to hear!
i need help with the math and prioritization part
First of all, are you sure you'll be tested on math skills? Not all places use that part of the CritiCall.
In any case, I definitely understand. Every one of us has strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend practicing our CritiCall pack to brush up on your skills. Among common and less common modules you will find prioritization practice tests and mathematics prep - basic, intermediate, and advanced - www.jobtestprep.com/criticall-test-practice
Does this practice test still exist? I need it
Is this the same test you take with NTN for the Emergency Communications test?
Are you referring to the ECOMM test? www.nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/ntn-test-ecomm.cfm
If so, I do believe that the CritiCall preparation is a good substitute for the test - www.jobtestprep.com/criticall-test-practice
You can also check the general Dispatcher Test Preparation page - www.jobtestprep.com/dispatcher-test-prep
There are many similarities between these PrepPacks and the ECOMM test, so they will help you practice the necessary skills to ace the ECOMM test, although it won't be in the exact same format as the actual test.
Any suggestions would be really helpful... thanks

Can I buy and use this software if I'm in Ireland? Or will it only work in the U.S.?
Hi Peter. Yes, you can definitely use our site no matter where you are. All the practice tests are online, and you don't need to download anything.

Hello Sarah,
I get how you feel- I used to get test anxiety all the time. Please remember that you approach the test to give it your best performance, and that's all that is going to happen. Good luck!
Does this apply to Texas
Hi! Use of the CritiCall Test depends on the police department or agency you're applying to, but some of the biggest departments in Texas use it, like Austin, Houston, Dallas, and more. Good luck!
Tjaing the test kn the 7th
4:24 why is "A" the answer here? Is it because the truck was on the right side of the road here? So he didn't bother with the very first trash can?
Good luck!

@@JobtestprepUk Thank you, also one last question how old do I have to be to do a sit along with a 911 dispatcher, is it over 18, or 16?
@@bambifuzzball5138 I'm not sure, I couldn't find information on that. You should ask your local 911 dispatch center.

I have my test next month do I have to study for the multiple choice?
I believe it's very important to prepare yourself for the test. It's not just to get better and improve your skills, it's also to get used to the kinds of questions and the time pressure. You want to familiarize yourself with the test and just wing it on test day.

@@kimberlysanchez3025 this guide pretty much explained the gist of it, but I found that the channel The Raspy Dispatcher did a very solid job of what it was exactly like! Did you pass?
How did it go?
The Map makes zero sense to me, the truck takes a left after going 2 blocks? But in the picture the truck is turning right? and why wouldn't it stop to pick up garbage at the parking lot when it drives right pass it ?
For the first question, if you look from the truck's perspective, going down 50th Avenue, it turns left on 53rd Street. If you turn around the map in your head you can see it.
For the second question, the question is "which location is the least likely to use the waste container?"
From 04:22 to 04:28 you can see the exact route the truck is taking, before reaching the container, the one between the city college and the dormitory.
Because the parking lot is the farthest from the container, of the four options given to you, it is the least likely to use the aforementioned waste container.
And there could be a chance that the vehicle would stop to pick up garbage at the parking lot on its way, but that's not the question.

Do they count they count the typing speed?
I wanted to become one (I'm 17) one I'm finished school but then I seen spelling and taught, well that's me done, I'm not great at spelling 😒
You can always study hard and I'm sure you'll do fine. But yes, the practice of being a 911 Dispatcher involves a lot of writing, which needs good spelling, of course.
Do you have any information were I can find reading comprehensive and memory recall
The official information regarding the Prioritization section is: "The ability to evaluate and analyze information
in order to prioritize or categorize incidents. Test takers are presented with multiple-choice questions that ask them to choose the priority status of a series of situations
based on decision rules they are provided."
I would say this part should be somewhat intuitive with decision-making skills coming in handy. Read the instructions carefully and try to understand the emergency team priorities.
Regarding the Call Summarization section, there are two versions, like you said. This is the official information about them both:
First version: "The ability to hear, comprehend, and
summarize audible information. Test takers listen to a short story and enter notes about that story into a computer. They are then asked to summarize the story by answering multiple-choice questions. Multi-tasking is also measured using a decision-making task."
Second version: "The ability to hear, comprehend, and utilize audible information while accurately entering that information using a keyboard. Test takers listen to a simulated telephone call and enter detailed information into the computer. They must then respond to a series of multiple-choice questions about the information they heard by using the information entered into the computer and/or their memory. Multi-tasking is also measured using a decision-making task."
You can see that the first version is by using notes and then recreating the story you hear, while the second version is more like the actual 911 call taker duties - listening to a phone call and typing the information simultaneously.
From what I know, the cutoff score is between 65% and 75% success - how much information you got right out of the total amount of information. I believe you mostly just need to pass, but it's always good to get a higher score.
By the way, there is also a third version of the Call Summarization, implementing more multi-tasking questions: "Similar to the Call Summarization 2 test, it
contains more decision making/multi-tasking items. Its score reflects a combination of the accuracy of the data entered and the responses to both the multi-tasking and multiple-choice items."
I hope you find this helpful, let me know if you have any more questions.
I take mine tomorrow I’m extremely nervous

Did you pass?
the map answer makes no sense. how can the college use the waste container when it is PAST the container on a one-way street? a truck would have to go AROUND THE BLOCK to use it
If I understand what you are saying, the college uses the waste container like every building uses wast containers, without trucks (janitors use it for example). The truck is only for the city to collect the garbage from the waste containers. I'm sorry if I misunderstood your point.

I type maximums of 80 words per minute, but data entry is really difficult for me :( It's the switching between numbers and letters that gets me.
One tip I can give you is practicing with the "Num Lock" on, so you can work with your right hand on the numeric keypad, and do so on the test. It's much faster than working with the numbers at the top of the keyboard, and it goes along well with the letters.
Good luck!
Arbel
M
it's a long test, make sure you have a mouse.
In the "map" section, the word future is not spelled correctly. Also the host continually referred to the test as critcal, not criticall
the spelling part of this test has me worried. i'm terrible with spelling.
Ugh, wish me luck. My turn tomorrow! 😬
How did it go?
@@JobtestprepUk It was smooth! What got me was the multi tasking between the audio and the bottom right hand corner questions. Wishing for the best! Currently waiting on the results.
