That sealer you found along the top is called "Dum-Dum" and it was installed at the factory to avoid rattles and metal to metal between the fender and frame.
Becuause it's yours, not thier car, they don't care, It's a pinch weld, IDK why "mechanics " "tire" insist on jacking from there, OR the differential, one kid at a tire place did it in front of me! I was very adamant he is not to do that, he looked confused, said the ALWAYS DO IT, I said use the damn frame jack spots to lift my vehicle. Unfortunaly many vehicle mfr manuals say to lift it there too. I suppose they don't give a hoot who destroys your vehicle. They're just waiting for your next vehicle purchase.
The reason why the manual says it is because that what YOURE SUPPOSED TO DO!!! Jacks even have a slot for pinch welds. It’s the strongest outermost part of the vehicle smh 🤦🏻♂️

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely be replacing it with some sort of rubber sealer, just not exactly sure on the thickness needed
thanks for the vid
Those things that are bent up are called pinch welds
Can’t I just take the fender and the light bucket together?
