Vince, I've been repairing laptops for years. You won't believe how many times I have taken apart a laptop because it wasn't working, then just reassembled it to have a fully working machine. Reseating components can clear faults. Machines are so sensitive that the slightest error can cause lots of problems.
Been dabbling in repairing my daughters 2ds. Ordered a new charging port. Bought a solder/desolder set. All because of your videos. Recieved the charging port got the old one apart and desoldered... removed to realize that I ordered the wrong port. Lol. Got another one coming. Been using her sisters 2ds to charge her battery while I wait. Anyway thanks so much for these i had no idea you could re-download software that was originally packaged. Bought my son a used 2ds and now he's got mario cart 7 too. Much love, keep up the good work! I always learn something new from these.
Jackpot with these 2. It looked to me like there was just a button stuck or sticky with the freaky one, which got solved by swapping cases. Nice and easy fix by swapping parts and some spares left for the next one. Great job and merry christmas to you and your family Vince.
I honestly love these videos! To me, eBay-fixes is like mystery gifts/boxes/loot/things: you don't know what you get until you open/open/check/. It's just awfully exciting! (Of course, that makes me a sucker for random loot distribution in games, which I *know* is not cool). Every new video of the "Trying to FIX it"-category is like another round of uncertainty, excitement and wonder! I honestly am addicted! I just hope you'll keep these videos up well into the next year, that my hunger (and maybe other peoples' hunger) for RNG fixes may be sated.
I enjoy your vids vince, they are sometimes quite dark so it’s nice to see you using a light. If you use premiere pro you can get rid of the flicker when you’re fast forwarding 👍🏻
Merry Christmas vince. Just want to comment to say you inspired me a little. I've bought a broken mini dirt bike and I'm going to repair with very limited experience. Best part was, it only cost me £20 and parts are super cheap.
✨🎄🎈Merry Christmas to Vince, his family and all his TH-cam friends from DownUnder.🎈🎄✨ Vince, maybe Mrs Vince might let you set up a workbench somewhere in the New Year. That would be nice pressie. 😉👍
I wonder if the case was somehow pushing on the shoulder button before and that was making it go crazy? Which is why it was fixed when you swapped the case.
Hey Vince big fan of your channel. I would love to know what do you do with all the fixed consoles??? Do you keep them for your kids or resell them if so where do you sell them? Thanks and keep up the good work
Is there anychance to get a dedicated video that shows what to look for in regards to getting a fixable device? I'd love to buy some broken stuff and fixing them but I never really know what to actually look for and what to avoid.
😃 The scrolling and none of the buttons working is usually caused by either a dirty or broken touch screen. (Not the actual screen, the plastic layer over it.) It's a very easy fix and cheap too!
Great video and I may of asked before but how do I get my 2ds to play smash because when I load in it freezes or sometimes right before I can start a match it keeps loading is the system just to slow
My 2ds has had two main problems through its 5 year life. The first issue I had within a year that was that when I powered it on the screen would stay black and the power button would be a solid blue no matter what I did, I sent it into Nintendo to repair under warranty. I got it back several days before scheduled, the battery was fully charged(it was about dead when I sent it) and it was fully updated to the latest software. The second problem happened a little more than a year ago, the volume slider stopped working and the system was stuck on max volume. I tried putting the knob back onto the slider, but that didn’t work. Eventually I got it replaced last Christmas by a Pokéball New 2ds xl.
I replaced a top screen on a ebay nintendo dsi took it apart a few years ago and left it then i watched a refurb by elliot at the retro future and decided to carry on bit of a pain to do the top screen but got it done ande it now works fine though the camera is not working quite right but i am not taking it apart again
Merry Christmas, nice one mate can u do some of the ps4 controller fix, recently I'm facing issues with my headphone jack on the ds4 i tried to reset the controller and it's not working if u have a free time just do some of the controller fix, take care lots of love from INDIA
Do look forward to your vids, that "can do" positivity is refreshing in this moody day and age, got a Samsung phablet here with a smacked screen and an overdischarged battery if you want something to play with :) I got a reball on my daughters Xbox 360 to do in the new year, funny as I have had my 360 for donkey years and not a problem and she picks hers up on the cheap and it dies within a week lol Now got two of the four Wii's I bought in a joblot of Wii stuff now working and thanks to your vids m8 keep it up :)
the games are coded into the systems, if you wanna claim them you can swap your main 3ds to it then swap back after a week and your main nintendo account will claim it so once you move your account back over to your previous 3ds you will take it with you. easy. i bought a super mario 3d land special 3ds and i moved over to it and claimed the game, i never knew it was there but i reset it to factory settings swapped to it and i got it free... its w/e i had it as physical but now i have both digital and physical! what a bonus. :)
I think the crazy behaviour looked exactly like continous input from either the joystick or the d-pad. So my bet is that, there simply was some kind of dust or grind stuck in either of the two and some movement fixed it.
You see these are the problems that you face when you're filming shiny screens. I'm not the best at pausing and playing videos to get the exact frame. But I was able to see your face at 7:16
I love watching your videos actually I think all your processes work if you are better off your best to watch actual videos of repairing all types of electronic or items so just try that out for yourself and see how you go on trying with your repair vids ok hope you enjoy buy
Great vid, but you might want to unlink the account there, you'll lose the games (mario kart and super mario bros) but if the original owner got a new 3ds and wanted to play the games they've bought, they can't unless the old console is unlinked and they'd have to go to a lengthy process to unlink the account with customer support.
@@aidanstanding i think you can just remove the account from the settings i read on an article noting steps to take before selling the system. That only transfers data with account
Considering my eyesight is bit knackered and 3d would prolly not work for me i would probably get 2ds... shame 1st generation (that is quite affordable now) was made in this weird tablet shape. I did heard good things about how comfortable is it to hold in hands from people though.
OK small tip, please convert the audio to mono since most of the time you are only audible on one speaker (mostly the left). Since this is a tech video we don't really need stereo sound.
when the analog is disconected from the motherboard or when it's faulty it goes like this , no motherboard problem , only the analog , you can test my theory by disconecting a analog from motherboard and you will see that it goes like that
can someone help me, I got a 2ds the same as the video, but it is defective, it does not turn on, already tested the battery with a multimeter and it is 2.69V, ie it is almost fully charged, I wonder if He has a fuse or something that might be the fault. thanks in advance...
I'm having a problem with a 2DS. It seems to be going into sleep mode like there's a loose connection or something because when I tap the corner where the sleep mode switch is it'll go back on. Does anybody have any ideas what's going on? I'd really appreciate some feedback thank you.
Maybe stop doing the system updates to them? Having an older firmware is only ever a good thing as if you're reselling them they tend to be more sought after.

Yay! These trying to fix videos are some of my favorite things to watch!

Great job! Have a wonderful Christmas Vince and a Happy 2019!

This is odd... at 26:45 why does the 2DS splash screen says 3DS?? I've never seen that :D

I’m guessing this was filmed a while ago because he said 250k subscriber give away. But idc its still a great video, good job 👍🏼

Hi there :)
I have a question. Does nintendo 2ds or 3ds (not the "new nintendo" work without battery plugged to wall?

Why does the eShop say "Nintendo 3DS" when you launch it?
The 2DS has exactly the same Software and almost the same internals as the old 3ds. Really just no 3d functions... ;)
Nice work... I like the 2ds
It could be a jittery screen. Happened to my mums ipad ruins the device. It maybe to do with something else not sure though?

Nintendo 2DS is a pretty decent handheld console, especially after installing the softmod.
