In Canada, 2023, the Canadian .01 cent piece is no longer legal tender. Not accepted anywhere. I have hundreds of them & I’m using them as 1:72 bases for individual figures. I also have sheets of thin styrofoam & a hot wire cutter. I’ve a large nail with 1 penny crazy glued to the nail head. I press the nailed penny into a piece of styrofoam cut to hold x2 figures front & x2 figures back for little squares of 4 figures each. Works well enough. Fun painting up the base to reflect ground.
Hey your the reason for Covid cpin shortages 😁...just kidding lol they do make decent bases. I like metal washers cause I can use sheet magnets for storagethe n transport/organization.
Well done thank you very much i like it...best way i have seen i really dont want to put a lot of figures on one card board ect... this will work for my Diarama of waterloo now off i go looking for the washers ... slots....or maybe a wsher that has a very small hole ..any way you have a great idea.... Cheers..

I tried the washers and they worked really well! It helps me build the miniature army I always wanted. :) I've got a question though. How do you base cavalry? I don't find it ecstatically pleasing to glue two washers together.
lol Here I am looking at a vid on how to base 1/72 figures while I cut off their bases in order to make'm more realistic. I know of some brands that used to deliver seperate bases, but most of them come based anyway, right ?
Thank you for this tutorial. I am going to use 1/2" washer bases for my 1/72 scale soldiers and wanted to know how you mount teams. For example I have Mortar, Bazooka, Machine Gun teams with 2 to 4 miniatures. Do you glue multiple washers together or use a different base?

Washers? Why not use penny coins - no hole, and they cost literally a penny each, much cheaper even than washers. (Could be slightly illegal though).
It is mate, don't deface the crown. I like the washer idea, have been using them since this video came out.
You can glue a small piece of thin plastic card onto the washer to close the hole.

Buy washers from the pound shop
Hey buddy how's it going hope u are well n painting. ..You bud..John.
How many millimetres high are the figures you buy?
+Tom Plant
Hi Tom, the figures are 26 mm approx.
what size of washer do you use for 28mm?
I use 16mm outer diameter. 1.2mm thick. The plastic figures figure tips only after 45°. Try different sizes, to find what works for you.
This guy uses 20 mm diameter washers, he did an army for me a while ago, nice job. He is a very busy bloke at the mo.
Yeah I'd rather just dunk everything which has colour in grey paint
Non si capisce niente
