basicly vtuber company, did some research appearently it boomed during 2019 ish and birthed several companies. Nijisanji, voms, hololive, vshojo just to mention 4 of them. Nijisanji is roughly 70+ vtuber streamers and hololive is 40+ if the wikis were anything to go by. You also got holocure which is basicly a better vampire survivors but free and fanmade. Interesting as some of them are REALLY popular. Gura from hololive appearently have 4 million subscribers and reached a million within a year. That is impressive.
Also an important note for anyone watching. Because this is a Hololive fan game, they legally cannot monetize it because the characters are property of Hololive Ltd. So you can play it for free if you really wanna. Hololive fan games are usually huge labors of love and worth playing even if you know nothing about the community. There is also a Hololive Vampire Survivors-like called Holocure, which itself is just really dang fun. Give it a try.
Can agree, Holocure is great! I should probably get the update... and much like Keith, I have 0 idea who any of them even are. But it's still a very well put together game.
25:24 Your definition of combo is really interesting to me because it's so different from what I think of. We typically call those sequences of attacks "strings" in fighting games.
Sure, I'm in no fighting communities and don't know vocabulary, and I'm trying to communicate with someone who doesn't know that there are attacks that can come after each other lol
Well, this is a thing. I don't know much about Hololive either (other than it's a Japanese VTuber agency), and the only one of those I'd heard about was Korone (the dog one) because of the Eekum Bokum meme (apparently people just really liked the way she says "Eekum Bokum").
No more characters at the moment, however it has been confirmed at least three more will be added. There is also a single player roguelike mode somewhat comparable to "World of Light" from Smash, and you can unlock items and try to complete the collection from that mode. Every character also has 3 unlockable "cosplays" (color palettes) which can be obtained from beating the Arcade, Single player mode and playing Online respectively, and there is also a secret stage that can be unlocked.
Goddamn. I don’t know the first thing about Hololive, but I've gotta respect the dedication. This game is clearly a labor of love.

@@Solus749 What's crazier is that gura reached 1 million subs in just a little over a month after her first stream
Bird just impenetrably no-selling the combo discussion was just as fun on the rewatch as it was live.
Toaster will be so betrayed that you played fighting game without him
he messaged me and told me they were playing this when I was at a work dinner :(

i dont remember if this was part of the holoindie but they do allow monetization for some games, the developers choose not to
28:00 - this is Mukirose, Aki's avatar in ARK. Mukirose = Akirose (Aki Rosental's nickname) + Muki (masculine).
Muki muki is omonatoepia for "muscular", not masculine.
The opposite of muki muki is muchi muchi - fat

@@KeithBallardA Oh yeah I get that. Sorry if I came off as rude or pedantic. Just thought it was an interesting little tidbit

didn't have this in my bingo card for today
Oh man i haven't seen any hololive content in a while
Yeah right Keith, you're not fooling anyone.
Watching people who have basically 0 fighting game skill play this is hilariously chaotic.
It is wild going from professional fighting game streams to this. Is there more content to unlock of other vtubers?

lol this is so random 🤣
I hope Mori Calliope gets added to the roster!
it's really fun to watch people who plays fighting game that doesn't know how to play the game
....I have no idea who any of these people are.
Oh man, Korone is in this game? I wish i was good at fighting games.
I like this game very much.
That's so strange seen someone who doesn't know vtubers playing this
