If you think the season 1 doll is scary, a bunch of season 2 endings are downright TERRIFYING because those are the ones that take place in a DARK classroom with the lights OUT and sometimes ZOOM INTO HIS FACE where his pupils look like BOWLING BALLS. I feel like they really softened the eyes by season 4.

What episode's the one where the doll's in the dark?
“May I Help You”, “The Dentist Always Makes Me Smile”, “Having Tens of Fun”, and “Grown-Ups for a Day” both take place in the dark and zoom into his face. The ones I listed from first to last are the ones that are from most to least terrifying. “Red Blue and Circles Too” and “Alphabet Zoo” also take place in the dark, but don’t zoom in on his face, so they’re not as intimidating

The Season 7 doll looks like he's flirting (the big smile with low eyebrows or whatever gives it away LOL😆)
And the Season 5/6 doll looks like Barney's trying to grab something and I just wanna hand it to him LOL😆

The dolls used from season 7-onwards are not Barney dolls, they’re Barbie dolls disguised as dinosaurs LOL
I grew up with seasons 4-8, but the Barney doll from seasons 2-3 is my favorite because he's so well put together. One of my favorite shots of that particular doll was from the season three episode 'On the Move,' at the end, where Barney has his arm up waving at Kenneth and the others goodbye. Such perfection!
The armature they placed with that doll was underused but added so much personality at the same time ☺️
@@HedgeOnStage I agree! They definitely should've used it more, but when they did use it, the effect worked so well.
I actually like the season 1doll for nostalgia reasons as well as the charm of the early-season jank. The season 2-3 doll is "my" Barney, and the Barney's Big Surprise doll is up there for me as the kind of merch most of us would love to have.

but i would also say that the season 1 barney doll never really scared me that much as a kid growing up,
it's still my favorite to this day, along with the 1988 barney doll, and season 2 thru 3 barney doll too.
i honestly would of love to have a Barney 1990 Plush with the white string teeth someday.

I like almost all of the Barney dolls. Here are my rankings as follows.
1: Season 2 and 3, Barney doll ( of how it was the cleanest and nice-looking dolls, as well as arm positioning.
2: Hit era Barney doll The lather with a different face As well as the ability to Have the arms positioned in some episodes of season 7.
3: A 2-way tie between season 4 and 6 Lyrick Barney.
4: 1990 Barney.
5: The original trilogy 1988 Barney.
My thoughts on the Hebrew and Korean co-production dolls of Barney are all right The main one that they use is all right For what it is, although the face could have been a little bit better And there's one alternate version of the Hebrew doll which adapted eat, drink and be healthy from season one And there was another version in season 2 of the co-production, which it is more square than the previous version and the arms are curled in word and the feet is upturned.
The main one from the Korean out of station is also all right Although it may be a bit unsettling at times and for this alternate version from the adaptation of our Earth our home is Oh, my gosh, it is quite uncanny and it had not aged pretty well I mean, look at this, it had a wider mouth! Not to mention that the head is big, and the doll has a stand connected to its tail to make it stand up unless if you look a little bit of the information on the wiki.
Also, I am aware that there was an alternate doll for rehearsals for season one named Stutman as you explained on one of the many faces of the Barney dolls video 2 years ago overall, a pretty good ranking of least to most favorite Barney dolls.

A couple of those dolls from the Lyrick era; the first one you talked about after the Season 2 doll was actually only used in the 3 home videos made when Season 4 was just starting; "Camp Wannarunaround", "Barney's Adventure Bus", and "Good Day, Good Night". The next one was actually one of 3 from Season 4; another one they used in that season looked like the Season 6 doll but with slightly longer arms pointed more outward than towards the body; the third one also looks like Season 6, but is more hunched over, like the first one; you can see it in "Tree-Mendous Trees" and in "Let's Play School"; this doll also became the main one in Season 5 and the first couple in Season 6. The last one was used in most of Season 6, and in the first episode of Season 7, before getting replaced by the prototype they only used for like 2 or 3 episodes, and then the one that pretty much kept being used until the end of the show. The Season 6 doll was also used in "Barney's Christmas Star", the first Season 7 home video [even though Barney was voiced by Tim Dever, still using the deep "Bob West" Barney voice].
Hopefully that helps clear things up a bit.

@@HedgeOnStage And those last 3 HiT dolls were in the right order; The one you said was the worst was actually the first one they used after the Season 6 doll; They only used it for like 2 or 3 episodes until it got replaces by the one with the wider mouth for pretty much the rest of the series [although the Season 6 doll did show up one more time in a late episode or home video]

Let’s all agree, by the HiT era, the Barney doll basically became a Barbie doll (Barney became Barbie-fied), am I right? LOL Also your comments about the sad-looking season 7 doll really make me laugh 😂

My daughter was born in 1993 and she still has the Barney that i bought for her. His teeth are beige but otherwise he's in great shape.
I don't really have an opinion on any of them after season 3. I stopped watching the show regularly after season 2, but I saw a few episodes of season 3 at the houses of family friends who had younger children. So I haven't the dolls from seasons 4 through 14 actually on the show, just images on the Barney Wiki. Honestly, just looking at the images of the later Barney dolls, I have to say that I prefer the ones from The Backyard Show to Barney & Friends season 3. Not just because those are the ones I grew up with, but because on an aesthetic level, they look more visually appealing than the later ones do.

@@HedgeOnStage As I watched your video I also thought about which Barney doll I would've wanted when I was a kid, and I think my six year old self would've wanted either the first Backyard Gang doll, the second Backyard Gang doll, or the season 2/season 3 doll.

I love this video so much I do agree that dolls from the Lyons Group era are great and the prime Barney doll from seasons 2-3 is perfect the hit era is ok though I do agree that one doll is looking so sad XD season 1 doll to me looks cute amd the dolls from the Lyrick era is good even know he do look weird now since you mention about the elbows XD still great video and cant wait for more Super-Dee-Duper!content from you and excited to see your thoughts for rhe rest of the Lyrick and Hit eras 😂❤

I have a LOT more respect and love for the original 1988 BYG doll now, but I used to think it looked like the earless lovechild of a dog and a horse
Most of the HIT ones look like a plush for a cartoon character, and its not that good
21:50 this was actually the prototype season 7 doll. At 18:52 is the season 6 doll. My favorite doll is probably the season 6 one.
21:40: probably because he had to deal with these kids for a whole new batch of seasons. That, or he already new about the CG show

Barney has overseas co-productions like Sesame Street?
There were a few different productions you can view episodes of on YT now that were done overseas
They were mostly just episodes of the first few seasons but done in their languages, and entirely filmed and produced elsewhere
