Hi guys! My name is Sammie & I am a homesteading wife, a homeschooling mom & a granny.
We live on a 10-acre small hobby farm in Oklahoma, and we have 7 children with 4 still at home. We grow & process a majority of our meat supply & grow an organic garden that supplies us throughout the year by growing & preserving.
We are also blessed with many wild edibles growing on our land to forage, eat & to also use medicinally ~ I show you how to harvest, use & preserve some of them.

Wonderful, concise, informative video. It's mid-August, and here in NY goldenrod is just starting to bloom. It grows very abundantly here, and horses do not eat it (I mow my pastures anyway, but it is in the fencerows and on steep banks. I have a ton of it drying! It's going to rain all day, but I have lots of herbs to play with and make oils and tinctures. Elderberry, comfrey, and some ripe peaches for a cobbler, too. Thanks!

This is a really great question, and I have been looking to find
an answer. In my mind, I say why not do it now before it's completely dead. I haven't found anything that says it's either beneficial or harmful at this point. I'm trying to think of an example to myself.... I wouldn't pick & eat cilantro if it was dead, but I might if it was turning a little brown. I'm going to have to say, it's your call. I literally can not find the answer.
