Oh Mandy Hun, you put Gracie Lou ANYWHERE YOU WANT I lost my Hope last year and my Rusty this March. Like you i had my Babies cremated and even got their footprints. I have both their boxes and prints on my dresser now but they started on my nightstand or anywhere i needed them to be. I even snuggled with their blankets for a bit because it had their scents on them. If anyone calls me crazy...let them. I have lost 21 family and friends since 2010 so any haters can pound sand. I can tell you this..the pain of loss doent end, whether it be for flesh or fur, but i found the more i think about all the love we shared the pain seemed to lessen and my heart healed more. Your sharing of your Sweet Gracie Lou with all of us helped my heart heal too so thank you for sharing her with us. Everyone grieves in their own way and we love you and want you to ease your pain any way you need. Put Gracie Lou next to the camera in the cupboard so she can be in your videos supervising you and making sure you put enough cheese in every meal. Still praying for ya. Sending big hugs to all of you. 🤗💖🙏🐈🌈💖
@@MandyintheMaking I understand because it hurt me physically as well when my dachshund Max passed away in my arms 4 years ago 😭 . Hugs and prayers to you ♥️
@@MandyintheMaking😮I know what you are feeling cause I truly miss my catPeewee was a very sweet like Gracie I'm sure she misses you and your husband / son as well I'm glad you and your family are safe God bless you both and your son ..
We lost our kitty moma that was her name she was 18 years old June 5th this year 😭 ..I miss her soo deeply.I Pray for y'all everyday .So glad you got power back on and your safe 🙏...
Fur baby parents, we all get it Mandy. I lost my Frazier 18 months ago. I felt not so alone after I finally laid him to rest. He's right here by me all the time. 🐶 🐾 ❤ blessings 🙏
I don't think having Gracie near you is weird at all. I put both my kitties' ashes on a shelf above my bed. So many of us are pet owners, and know exactly how much Gracie meant to you. You do what brings YOU comfort. I think we can all feel your pain coming through our screens. In time, it won't be so raw. You will always miss your Gracie, but eventually, it won't be quite so painful. Like Steven said, it's going to take some time. We never forget them. I do believe we will be reunited with them one day! That makes my heart happy. 🤗
I have FIVE…yes, 5…of my babies ashes and pictures in our home office. These sweet kitties were our fur babies from the mid 90s through 2020…all inside cats ( not all at the same time) and all lived from 10-17 years.
My daughter said that you need to get another Kitty. She said you have to go to the shelter and get one. My Allison has CP and she is 34 years old, but in her mind she is only 5-10 years old. She misses seeing Gracie. We lost our kitty a year ago August. It took us until this past February and now we have a new kitty. He is a orange kitty named Roni. (like macaroni). Blessing you you and your family and I am so glad that the hurricane's didn't harm you and your family
I’m so so sorry for your loss. But I agree one of the best ways to honor our fur baby that has passed and to help our heart heal is to rescue another in their honor ❤️
Your daughter is not wrong. Nothing like adopting a new cat to give all that leftover love you have for the fur baby that crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 😘
I am so glad you brought Gracie Lou home. Every time I see her picture, I get a huge lump in my throat and I start to tear up. That is how special she was to everyone.❤❤
I love yall so much. I had my husbands cremanes for about 6 months. I have a necklace with a tiny bit of his ashes in it. I recently wore it to my grandson’s graduation from basic training so his Papa could be there. When my father in law passed away I put my husband’s urn in his casket. It’s what we decided to do a few months before my husband passed. He loved his Dad so much and I wanted him to be happy. I’ll be buried next to them when the Lord calls me home. God bless y’all and sweet Gracie is right where she would want to be❤❤❤❤❤❤

Girl! Not strange AT ALL!! She has your heart and always will. I lost my sweet Samantha, a West Highland Terrier, Feb 5 of this year. I was devastated and cried a river of tears. The minute they brought her home to me (5 days later), it was like the world had been lifted off my shoulders and heart. I have created a little memorial shrine to her and her brother Roscoe (I lost him 5 years ago). I talk to them every time I walk past their shrine. They are my only family. Bless you and your family and friends going through the devastating Helene storm!
We just lost our special big orange cat Kevin yesterday. He will be returned to us too. When he comes home, we will honor him on a special shelf in our bedroom. You are not strange. Don't apologize for loving a fur family member! 💗
It’s so hard loosing our fur babies, and we have 3 that have a special shelf with a picture and their collar hooked in the front of their urn . I don’t think it’s weird either, it’s how we honor the ones we love . Sorry for your loss ❤fromTX
Having Gracie Lou wit you in the box IS NOT ODD !! Our Bailey is in her box on top of the mantle in our family room. Every time we use the fireplace, she is there. It reminds my wife of the comfort our family felt watching TV and sitting by the fire while Bailey (she was 13) sat with us ! You wouldn't be human if you didn't get emotional !! Prayers and hugs, Many and Steven Love you guys !!
I have a Kali Jean wall in memory of my pup who passed in 2020. Look at it every day! With all the love and years Gracie Lou gave you, missing her and memorializing her is perfectly natural!
Our Bear Levi passed two years ago this coming December. I am staring at his "little precious box" as we speak while watching you. As strange as it may seem, it will give you great comfort to have her there with you. I'm so happy that she's home with you.

My husband and I lost our fur baby Gemi on Sept 02 , and she had a baby blanket that she used to cuddle and chew and rock herself to sleep whenever all three of us were together, and ever since she's been gone her baby blanket sits beside me in my spot on the couch, in bed, it brings me some comfort. We felt comfort when we brought her ashes and urn home as well. I can definitely relate. It's so heartbreaking losing a part of the family.

Mandy I’m right there with you! It’s how odd that it gives comfort to. I lost my Lilly the week of Thanksgiving. She was absolutely best dog I have ever had. It’s 11 months and I’m still broken hearted. My heart goes out to you. And yes we must realize we need time. I still have tears. I feel like y’all are my family. What comfort I get when watching you and family making meals. Thank you for crossing paths with me ❤️
All of these look delicious and I will definitely be trying them! 😊 I didn't think it was weird to have Gracie Lou with you while you were cooking! I know from experience that having your fur baby's remains close, it brings you comfort. ❤❤
Wish I could do mire to help others but when your on S.S. you don't have anything to spare but you and your family bring me comfort. Husband has congestive heart failure (we been married 46 years) and every little bit of happiness means a lot!
Having kitty with you is wonderful. I did that for my daughter's 20 yr old cat that was very special. She still has her and she has moved with her 3 times...love never ends!
I know how important it is to have our babies with us….we lost our 2 ship-tzus within 1 yr of each other (mom n daughter) I find it so comforting to have them both “ home”….wishing you all peace…..thanks for all the recipes, luv watching your family interact…blessings
I'm so happy you have Gracie Lou back home where she belongs. It's not weird at all. It's your love for your fur baby.♥ You have a blessed day sweet lady.
I am terribly sorry to hear about Gracie Lou....i always enjoyed that you shared her with us....I have always had pets, and my life has been SO much richer for it. You keep her ashes wherever you need to keep them, I keep my first dogs ashes on my mantle, and I TATTOOED his paw print on my leg; keeping her in the kitchen with you is not at all weird. 🥰 LOVE watching your show. love the simple delicous food you share, and I love that you involve your whole family.
I used to work for a pet crematory and cemetery in Goose Creek SC. It is not strange wanting to have your babies with you. We have 2 of our yellow labs in their picture urns on our headboard. Hope you find comfort in having her home and it helps sometimes to bring a new fur baby in to the mix !!
Not odd at all, Mandy. I'd put a tiny slice of cheese on her beautiful little wooden box! We loved her sooo much. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in AZ and E Minister ✨️ 🙏🏻 ❤️ ✝️
You keep Gracie Lou anywhere you need her to be! I love knowing she’s right there with you! ❤ Also, it looked like you used a garlic press after peeling. Did you know that if you’re using a garlic press there’s no need to peel it?
Is it me or is Steven seeming to be sweeter to you than usual? I can tell he is trying to comfort you with all that has been going on. God bless from Massachusetts
Grief is all the love in your heart ♥️ I always get so hungry when I watch your videos . I’m glad you were spared major damage from the hurricane. My brother lives in Sarasota and I’m waiting to hear from him 🙏🏼
Aww, so glad Gracie Lou is home. She loved being with you in the kitchen, so it's only right that she should be there with you. God bless you and your family.
I totally understand wanting Gracie Lou home. We had to put down my daughter's childhood dog and best friend about a month ago. When she got him back, it felt better. We miss him everyday. ❤❤
She belongs with your family. My cat has been gone 15 years and l still have his blanket. I keep it on my bed. I miss him. He was a good boy. The best rescue buddy.
Oh Mandy, how you are feeling about having Gracie back is not odd. My little girl crossed the rainbow bridge this summer and I had that same feeling when we brought her home in a little box very similar to Gracie’s…feeling your loss and pain.❤
Gracie Lou spent so much time with you in the kitchen. Doesn't seem strange to me at all that you would put her on the counter. Sending you all big hugs and prayers. 🙏✝️
Oh my gosh Mandy...talking about Gracie Lou, brought back so many memories of our little westi poo. Her name was Lacy Jane. We got her from a puppy, she was my little girl. She was 15yrs old when we had to let her gain her wings 2 yrs ago this November. Like you, we had her cremated and brought back home. We keep her in our bedroom along with her favorite red ball and her fancy coat that she loved to wear. When the coat came out, she knew she was going somewhere...lol. She is missed dearly everyday, but knowing she is here with us brings such a comfort and our house feels like home again. Bless you and your family as you try and move on from here. She was one very lucky little kitty to get all the love and "cheese" any kitty would ever want or need!!! Hugs from Canada!!!
Thank you Mandy for sharing. I make something similar to the chili mac. When I was growing up my Mother called it Goulash. When I was a new bride, 55 years ago, I would make it once a week because my husband loved it. King Ranch Casserole is one of our favorites too. Glad you have your sweet Gracie home with y’all again.❤️✝️🙏🇺🇸
KING RANCH CHICKEN is the Official Casserole of the Great State of Texas. Its name comes from King Ranch, one of the largest ranches in the United States. The recipe is definitely a Texas creation, and pays homage to one of our finest Texas ranches.
Perfect timing! Gonna make one tonight & put the leftovers in the freezer. You’ve been going thru difficult days with pizzazz & class. You’re a great example for the rest of us. Keep up the good work. ☮️ Blessings!
It’s so good to see you back online, I enjoy watching your family so much. Mandy, it’s not weird to want Gracie Lou with you. I had a “soul kitty” years ago and I still miss him, I have dreams about him sometimes. I think that’s why your kitty loss hit me so hard. Love y’all.
So happy to see you back in the kitchen. Feel free to do or talk about what brings you comfort. We all need to grieve in whatever way helps us. I'd like to try the chili mac with quinoa pasta to increase the protein and reduce carbs🙂
Having Gracie Lou with you is not odd to me. My husband died two years ago and I have his ashes here with me at my apt where I can see him and think of him anytime. When my time comes, I will be donated to Southwestern Medical School here in Dallas to be used to train new doctors. When they're done, they will cremate me and I will be placed in their cemetery along with my husband's ashes. Many people consider this a strange choice, but I believe it is a useful way to be disposed of, a necessity for all of us.
I think it’s wonderful that Gracie Lou is hanging out with you….I definitely do the same thing with my Maggie Mae! ….we love our fur babies ….much love to you❤️
Whoever suggested your spurtle was a boat paddle must have a mighty little boat! Can’t wait to make these dishes. So sorry about Gracie; our sweet babies bless our lives so much. Wishing you well as you continue to recover from Helene.
I'm so sorry for your loss, I don't know what id do if I lost my baby Oscar he is my baby love, you are handling this with amazing grace. You and your family are in my prayers.
Hi Mandy, Thank you for the warm recipes.. And you are not strange...Gracie was a family member...and a you tube sensation...when I pass..the family will find 7 boxes like yours..Abedago.. kibo..franny..Gracie.. Lucybug..Ozzie..and Bingo.. All rescue dogs..we currently have talkeetna..and duffy.... Nine rescue dogs in our married life. .everytime one passes..I think..my breaking heart can't handle it again...I somehow think..but..my heart hurts harder when I know there's dogs in need...so...don't mind what others think.. Bless you and your family...❤❤
Oh Mandy I have never made it out the office before i was a puddled up mess. Sadie and Rusty are in compostable burlap bags with wild flower seeds and Bella is in a beautiful box is a velvet bag like your Gracie lou. I can’t bring myself to bury my fur babies but Bella will get buried with my husband because he loved his white fluffy kitty. Tis the season for belly warmers.❤️🙏🏻👍🏼
Love is love, loss is loss and grief is grief. Do what you need to do during this time. No apologies. And not odd to keep Gracie close. We have several of our angels in our bedroom.
You are not weird for keeping Gracie Lou with you! We have a pet cemetery that we started in a special part of our yard because they didn’t offer cremation for pets when our furry family started passing away. I had to add our beloved dog named Siete (that’s Seven in Spanish) in early September. 😞 He is next too the other 6 dogs we had when he adopted us and I imagine them all playing together in heaven! My husband is with them too. 😞
I'm so glad that Gracie Lou is back home where she belongs. She will always be with you and give you comfort. I have one of the garlic rollers...got it many, many years ago before they came up with different garlic devices. Sometimes, the older ones work better, don't they?
Oh dear, that brought the tears.. Anyone who has lost a pet that was as close as Gracie will totally understand. I have 2 of my pets in urns on my window sill beside my desk. They are always there.
Mandy, I feel you. I lost my love, Peanut, on Sept. 19. I understand the "having them home" feeling. I am going through this with you at the same time and I'm hugging you! I was a mess when I didn't have him home. I was comforted knowing he was home when I got his urn and footprint. He sits right in front of me on my TV stand. I still sleep with his blanket. I miss him terribly. It isn't weird or crazy to have them wherever you are. *Hugs*
So happy to have Gracie Lou back home and in the kitchen with mom. Absolutely nothing strange about that, we all loved her and miss her greatly.

Thank you for crossing paths with me ❤️
I love gracie lou is back home. I love your channel.
Thank you Tiffany ❤
All of these look delicious and I will definitely be trying them! 😊 I didn't think it was weird to have Gracie Lou with you while you were cooking! I know from experience that having your fur baby's remains close, it brings you comfort. ❤❤
Boy that last one has got me really pumped with the look on your faces and the excitement in your reviews!!!😊❤
Wish I could do mire to help others but when your on S.S. you don't have anything to spare but you and your family bring me comfort. Husband has congestive heart failure (we been married 46 years) and every little bit of happiness means a lot!
Hello Miss Linda, God hears Prayers and knows when they come from a sincere heart. May God bless you and your husband, sweetie.
Aww, now I got all teary eyed seeing sweet Gracie Lou ❤
You put Gracie Lou where ever gives you and your family comfort. God Bless you and yours from Alabama
I'm so happy you have Gracie Lou back home where she belongs. It's not weird at all. It's your love for your fur baby.♥
You have a blessed day sweet lady.
I’m sorry about Gracie Lou. I always enjoyed seeing her interact with you and the guys. I’m thankful you are safe from the storm.
Also, it looked like you used a garlic press after peeling.
My brother lives in Sarasota and I’m waiting to hear from him 🙏🏼
Prayers up🙏💕
Is he okay?
@@MandyintheMaking I feel in my heart like he is but I can’t reach him as power must be out feel better when I do
The loss of a fur baby is so hard. Sending you big hugs and comfort while you grieve.
So happy Gracie Lou is home with all of us. I have my Sheltie Pebbles and my Grey Tabby Bam Bam with me. So I don't think it's weird at all. ❤️🙏
Oh Mandy, how you are feeling about having Gracie back is not odd. My little girl crossed the rainbow bridge this summer and I had that same feeling when we brought her home in a little box very similar to Gracie’s…feeling your loss and pain.❤
God bless Miss Gracie Lou, she can sit anywhere she wants as long as she brings you comfort. ❤
Not odd!!! You do you!!
It is not weird at all .❤.. she was part of your family..she can continue to watch over you making your delicious meals..😊
My sweet Lab used to sleep in my bedroom closet. She’s now resting on a shelf in the closet. It’s not strange to anyone who’s loved and lost a pet.
It’s so good to see you back online, I enjoy watching your family so much. Mandy, it’s not weird to want Gracie Lou with you. I had a “soul kitty” years ago and I still miss him, I have dreams about him sometimes. I think that’s why your kitty loss hit me so hard. Love y’all.
So glad Gracie Lou is home with y’all. ❤
So happy to see you back in the kitchen. Feel free to do or talk about what brings you comfort. We all need to grieve in whatever way helps us.
I'd like to try the chili mac with quinoa pasta to increase the protein and reduce carbs🙂
All the quinoa based pasta I looked at still had high carbs. What brand are u using?
Having Gracie Lou with you is not odd to me. My husband died two years ago and I have his ashes here with me at my apt where I can see him and think of him anytime. When my time comes, I will be donated to Southwestern Medical School here in Dallas to be used to train new doctors. When they're done, they will cremate me and I will be placed in their cemetery along with my husband's ashes. Many people consider this a strange choice, but I believe it is a useful way to be disposed of, a necessity for all of us.
When my Dad died , he donated his body to science and my Mom wants do the same thing.
I think it’s wonderful that Gracie Lou is hanging out with you….I definitely do the same thing with my Maggie Mae! ….we love our fur babies ….much love to you❤️
My son and I watch your videos all the time....we sure miss seeing Gracie Lou. Still praying for you to find peace and comfort. ❤
So glad Gracie is home. I have the same box with my Josie in it and I’m so thankful she is here. Many hugs to you and your family.
You and your family are in my prayers.
so nice to have Gracie in the kitchen!
You back love to you and you'r family God bless🙏
Hi Mandy,
Thank you for the warm recipes..
I understand the comfort of having her home. When my Ollie boy came home the hole in my heart got a little smaller
Always love the videos Mandy, Peace and Love from Georgia❤
God bless you and Gracie. Put a little cheese out for her in memorial
Casseroles look yummy!
Love and miss you, Gracie Lou 💔🥰
I'm so glad that Gracie Lou is back home where she belongs. She will always be with you and give you comfort. I have one of the garlic rollers...got it many, many years ago before they came up with different garlic devices. Sometimes, the older ones work better, don't they?
Yes, yes, YES! You keep Miss Gracie Lou right there in the kitchen with momma! God bless y'all! ❤❤
I think of Gracie every time I here the word cheese
Same for me🧀
Oh dear, that brought the tears.. Anyone who has lost a pet that was as close as Gracie will totally understand. I have 2 of my pets in urns on my window sill beside my desk. They are always there.
I Miss u talking to Gracie in the kitchen and her sweet meow
Glad things are getting better each day and you have your precious kitty close to you. Everything looked so good. I think the 3rd one would be my fav.
*Hugs*
I feel you, only difference is mine is my mom’s and husband who were cremated are in my kitchen
I'm so sorry you lost Peanut. Only two days after I lost my Gracie Lou. :( I still sleep with her blanket, too. It brings me so much comfort.
