The light has an interior battery that charges with that cable. Like just about all other phone devices, they give less than a **** about those with kids who protect their phones with an Otterbox, so the clip doesn't work for me... but I digress.
The LED light does have an internal battery, the USB cord is to recharge. My light came basically fully charged... Hold down the button on the side for approx 2 seconds and then press it to change the brightness. Which in my opinion is pretty bright. Its alot brighter than I was expecting... And then hold for approx 2 seconds to turn off...
I bought this kit today and the light is rechargeable, I charged it for a hour or so and if you hold the button in for a few seconds it turns on, and you can toggle between 3 light intensities. My bracket though, the hot shoes are plastic, whereas they are metal on yours.

I bought a boyer vlogging kit from Walmart and I'm not seeing a big difference from the internal mic. I also noticed that the red light on the microphone is less bright when it's switched to phone mode and the microphone is connected to my iPhone via an adapter. The red light is much brighter when I switch to camera mode.
The feedback is common, sadly. But that’s with a lot of mics. I have a Comica shotgun mic that was $60 that’s similar. I found that the further you are from it the less feedback
Today I added narration to my imovie. Sound really sucked. Went to the local W-mart and purchased this kit. Man, improved the audio +100%. 👍One thing. Either they should include the iphone adapter and charge an extra $9.00, or, let the store personel know to inform the customers "your'e going to need this adapter. I had to make a 2 trip to a local Target. 😣 But, for the quality improvement, it was worth the hassel.
Whats that white attachment you have connected to the mic jack ? I have the same kit but my phone won't pick up the mic . . wondering if that white attachment is something I need to get to make it work ?

Squirely LLC I don’t, I had a slight static that wasn’t really too noticeable in mine, but it wasn’t enough to make it a dealbreaker. Not sure why yours is digitally glitching

I didn't even notice, but it was better than the phone mic...I picked it up for the tripod & was surprised the mic/light cage can't be tightened down. It's just free swinging all the time which could be a problem of you want to carry it to get walking shots
Update...I got it right. Just had to tighten until I thought it would break...and then a little bit more. I think some plastic was in the threads. But it works & locks now

Are you making the same mistake I made and plugging the mic into the EARPHONE OUTlet. You need an adapter that plugs into the phone charging port. Cost $9.00 at Target.
No no this microphone with Tripod is nothing nothing nothing it’s useless plus the tripod itself is not so wonderful because we can use the phone 📱 vertically…I only like the light 💡 with this tripod

I got it. The audio on my video narrations is 100% better. No overhead echo. Directional mic works excellent.

That is a 3.5 mm to lightning cable adapter. They’re like eight bucks at Walmart. That’s if you have an iPhone with a lightning charger port

As long as you unscrew the flat nut to the lowest position, screw on the phone, then screw up the flat bottom nut. It’ll lock in place

There literally is no set up. If you don’t have a 3.5 mm Jack, use an adapter, and plug it into your phone. That’s it
