@@hoemendo3011 this is how you do that - select restore from your computer when you connect with recovery mode. You will need to have the appleID information to bypass activation lock.
this was the video that finally got me into DFU mode on an iPhone 11. I think what was more clear in this video and what did the trick for me was not immediately hitting volume down after the screen goes black like a lot of instructions imply, but reaching that full 10 seconds holding down the side button first.

I had an ex demo phone that had never been used, this worked perfectly on an 8 plus thanks so much, I had to click restore twice, the first time I did it it said it wasn’t able to restore and I began to panic but then clicked it again and it worked perfectly.

Kiruthika Sritharan, as long as the iPhone can be power on, you can do restore or recovery etc. it is better to have your iPhone already backup before you proceed the restore or recovery.

Kiruthika Sritharan, no matter the iPhone locked or unlocked, while iPhone is power on normally, you can have your iPhone restore, recover etc, the setup menu will guide you of what next and what to do.
Also, another question. But if u have to attach it to a computer, does it have to be a MacBook?

If you didn't manage, just power it off then hold both the volume up and volume down and plug in the cable till you see the connect to iTunes logo.

Just worked on my 8 Plus. Seeing the swipe to shut down is fine. Just continue the process. You HAVE TO count exact 10 seconds then releasing the side button while maintaining the volume down button. Otherwise it won't work.

I had the same issue. Try DFU exit steps. Connect to computer. Then start iTunes and on your device do the following: volume up, volume down and hold side button until device starts. Then restore.

I think I get it. Apple is worried about failing schools, so they decided to make everything 10x harder so we have to figure it out and study more. Next, they are gonna remove the charging port so we need to find a way to make our phone solar powered. It's genius!

this fixed every issue i had with my phone thanks so much man i almost thought my phone was a goner and had to get a new one because it was stuck on the apple logo and couldnt force restart for it to get back to normal tried many times many tutorials didnt show how to exactly pop up the recovery screen mode on pc just that id have to wait till the logo pops back up but yea my pc wouldnt update or restore on recovery mode so i did it in dlg and restored everything and it worked after a billion tries but thanks to this video it made every step more clear and easier even apple couldnt really help was thinking id have to unscrew my phone or something to actually reset from inside my phone to stop the apple logo but thank God i didnt
