I just realized i forgot to mention the ash of war actually adds frostbite build up as well as the lightning buff for the duration of the buff as well!

Sad that it only lasts 30 sec. Btw the one thing that bothered me about this vid is that you never land the lightning strike at the end of the ash of war, and for me it does upwards of 900 damage in that one hit
@@JerryCNorton All Ice lightning attacks do frostbite, including Frozen Lightning Spear, and the Dragon Katana.
what system do you play on? tempted to see if i could fight you once i'm out of my hotel, but i'm unsure if you'd even show up on my game lol.

I had so much fun with this thing in low level invasions, spinning slash is great aoe burst against ganks and I think the flat damage buff helps a lot more at that level too

Spinning slash is nasty because of the staggering it does. It is indeed a very good anti gank tool.

The dovahkin cosplay was amazing, he should have added some of the dragon spells to make it better.
That first invasion was pure comedy. Also it seems like you had your flask ready from the start but never got to use it. You got reverse flask memed.

You should try out the Ornamental Straight Sword sometime. It’s charged heavy attack after the Ash of War is insane.
Great vid as always! I really like the power stance halberd moveset! I’ve used the spear talisman with it because I find that combining a running L1 into a running R1 seems to work more often than a jumping L1. Then you get the bonus damage from the thrusting poke of the R1. Would love to see you try some colossal weapons soon!

Can we just stop and consider a few things here? As far as I can tell, Chase is just about the best souls player I've ever seen. He deliberately avoids op and cheese builds. You don't quite realize just how good he is unless you watch other players. He's super entertaining to watch. Even if I didn't play Elden Ring I'd still watch his stuff. Plus, he's never toxic. He's like super wholesome and stuff. I mean just consider all these things. Like even if I was playing, got invaded, and lost, I'd never feel toxically disrespected if it was him. This is just a game, yes, but what if the world was filled with bros like him? We'd all be better off srsly.

Helphen's Steeple is a pretty cool weapon, using ghost flame to inflict frostbite pretty quickly, while getting a damage increase as well.
Not to mentions it’s one of the best looking weapons in the game.

I just wish the buff on this (and it's katana-based cousin) lasted longer than they do. Only 15-ish seconds is so short!
At least this thing does IMMENSE damage when you do it's full AoW combo, unlike the poor katana version...
Speaking of which, I'd love to see the dragonscale blade in a showcase sometime soon! Such a cool weapon.
It's just such a shame it gets over-shadowed by the shinier katanas...If it's buff wasn't so short it'd be great, too...
In terms of fashion I like the dragonscale blade the most, sobI end up using that when I feel like using a katana

Sometimes I get visions of actual sword fights happening like some of these duels with people running around in random directions and circles randomly jumping and poking at each other and it never fails to make me laugh 🤣🤣🤣

I think it's great when people don't go for buffs. Most weapons are already ridiculously strong, especially with the ash of war system. Makes for much more tactical fights.

I honestly really want to see Chase using knifes. From what I’ve seen, they aren’t great auxiliary weapons, but maybe he’ll be able to make them work

Broooo, the blue lightning weapon art/buff on that halberd is the coolest thing I've seen on any ER weapon. What a beauty
Blue Lightning is one of my favorite new 'elements' in ER for sure, such an awesome new effect!
If you initiate jump attack right on the jump ,the animation is instant and the player will back off seeing it so early, if you time your heavy r2 or your dual wield L1 attack right when you land a jump, it'll do the jump attack animation while on your feet, throwing off your opponent thinking your jump faking, usually gets them everytime. I use it alot with my dual fire & ice lances 🔥❄️
That last host killed the twin Jelly needed to unlock that dungeon. So for killing Jelly Chase played with his food.

i feel bad for the miranda guy, he killed the jellyfish, it was actually a puzzle for the wall downstairs, he is not a mage build though, so the talisman down there might be useless for him.
Thinking flamberge could potentially be interesting. Could mess around with the occult infusion, see what shenanigans you could get up to with that.

I think the reason that the black flame wall on the first duel didn't do much is because the black flame *seems* to do more physical than fire damage.
Could be talking out the wrong end here to, but black flame incants feel like they need a small buff ):

@22:07 I believe that's Godrick's grafted dragon, or whatever the fist weapon you get from his remembrance is called. I don't think I've ever seen it being used! Pretty neat.

On that halberd the weapon art is actually amazing.
The first swing is not exactly slow and if placed well, can surprise and stun lock multiple people at the same time, and once that's done the follow up is pretty much guaranteed to hit a specific target, all for an insane amount of damage. Sad to not have seen you use that but it's fairly easy to accomplish
I actually win quite a lot of duels with it. The weaponart can be landed more often than you'd think since you are able to delay the second part for quite some time catching many aggressive players off guard. Since many build are more or less glass cannons i tend to even oneshot a surprising amount of players if i land the complete aow (not an optimized build from my side though i just think the weapon looks cool)
I wish the Black Gargoyle Halberd had a special holy version of Spinning Slash, instead it just had disappointment.
If this weapon had the swordspear moveset it would literally be perfect
This weap is legit. The length of the AoW is reasonable. Frost/with lightning is unreal. Pre-nerf/patch, this wep, AoW with the pully crossbow put out INSANE numbers on any and all bolts.

This could just be me but I would love it if you could add the location/drop rate of the weapon you are showcasing in the video
I'd like to see some greataxe showcase sometime. Personally I really like the look of the Longhaft Axe. I've had good success with Waves of Darkness in invasions(especially if they don't respect your spawn-in i-frames), and Beast's Roar/Flaming Strike seems decent for duels as fast-ish options to pressure people at range and force them to approach, since the axes obviously don't have much range themselves.

I'd love to see you use the Antspur Rapier. Bleed infused is probably the most legit way to do it but I love infusing it with poison and just having fun with it in invasions

I think it has some potential for a good invasion weapon, because the L2 buff is quick and it buffs both swords. Also, the unique R2 you get when it's buffed is mad fun.

Another good build for this weapon is use a frost halbred in second hand, since the buff also adds frost to the dragon halbred. Ive been using the banished halbred with frost as it still gets a C in str and dex.
That fist weapon chase is called the grafted dragon you get it from godrick the grafted sadly it’s one of a kind where you don’t get two. You need to get a copy of it

Roar guy had Highland Axe in his off-hand which buffs all roars. I’m pretty sure he could have two-handed and had the Highland Axe on his back and still gotten the buff

I've been terrorising low levels with this thing for the last week or so. My build has 30 VIG and 19 END with 62 poise at level 30 without using Radagon's Soreseal so you are obscenely tanky and this weapon hits like a freight train thanks to it's flat damage buff + frost.
Your running attack got poised because your poise damage is divided between each L1 attack.
I’ve been waiting for this one. I love the design of this weapon I’m using it on my second play through
I loved using this weapon in part of my playthrough. So much fun but unfortunately got beat by the Glaive/Black Flame Tornado set up
