Power-A Super Mario "Enhanced Wired Controller" Unboxing and Use! Beautiful, but Many Compromises!

  • Today, I am unboxing a new Nintendo Switch controller I received as a gift; the officially licensed Power-A Super Mario Enhanced Wired Controller! This controller mimics the design of the official Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, making it very comfortable and pleasing to use. It also has special mappable buttons, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack! It does, however, have many downsides, such as no wireless or undocked play, no motion controls, no Amiibo, and no haptics. But hey, the print on the controller still looks pretty awesome, so join me as we see what exactly this controller has in store!

      Wired controllers are good but they have lots of downsides and For both worlds I ha both wired and wireless and as wired has a headphone jack but you cannot recalibrate it so u would have to fix it manually which is pretty sad feels lighter and only works on tv unless u got a adapter but otherwise it’s a pretty good controller But if you have any money I recommand a wireless controller you will love it

    Bro Nice review. I have 2 doubts:
    1. Will it work with PC just like normal controllers? X Input mode.. can you try in your pc once?
    2. What do you mean by not analogue triggers ? Means like if I press half trigger "the car" goes slow and if I press fully "the car" will go full throttle?

    • @VarietyEntertainmentStudios
      @VarietyEntertainmentStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. I have no idea if it will work with PC or not, I don’t have any PC games
      2. The triggers not analogue basically means they act as buttons. The Nintendo Switch doesn’t support analogue triggers anyways so

    Great video. I wonder if the buzzing from the headphones were from the fact that they were Apple earbuds. They are wired differently so maybe that caused it, just a theory. Thanks for posting!

    • @VarietyEntertainmentStudios
      @VarietyEntertainmentStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found it informative! I have used those exact Apple earbuds connected directly to the Switch itself and haven't experiences any buzzing sound that way. But I usually just connect to Bluetooth audio on my Switch or use the TV speakers when docked, so it's not an issue anyways. But yeah, it's possible some headphones may work better, I'm not sure.

    Hey! Do u know if mario oddisey and mario galaxy have motion actions?

    • @VarietyEntertainmentStudios
      @VarietyEntertainmentStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, yes they do! Mario Odyssey uses motion controls to do specific cap throws and the like, while Galaxy uses motion controls for a variety of things in the game, primarily as a cursor.
      Mario Odyssey is completely playable without motion controls if you choose, whereas Mario Galaxy does require them in quite a few sections. So Odyssey is playable with the controller, but Galaxy is not for the most part.
      Hope this helps!

    Is the controller worth it? I want to buy another controller so I can play with 4 players, but I don’t want to buy another wireless pro controller because it is expensive (I have one already). And I don’t want to buy new Joy-cons because I know that the Joy con drift problem will happen to me again. I want to buy the wired controller, but I’m afraid that it won’t work/last long.

    • @VarietyEntertainmentStudios

      It has worked fine for me so far, hasn’t broken yet, but then again I don’t use it often so it doesn’t have much wear on it. It’s up to you whether it’s worth it or not, but just keep in mind that motion control based games won’t work with it

    • @VarietyEntertainmentStudios
      @VarietyEntertainmentStudios  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It certainly is! I was playing a bit of Mario 35 and Tetris 99 last night, two games that obviously don’t use motion controls and don’t have a heavy focus on haptics, and I was very impressed! It’s definitely a much more comfortable experience than the JoyCon grip as long as it’s a game where you don’t mind not having rumble. It’s just unfortunate no motion controls are included so you have to use a different controller for games that require it. Hopefully I’ll have a more thorough review later after I’ve had more time playing on it!

      I’ve had no stick drift yet, and I’ve done some research on this controller and confirm that cases of drifting are very few and far between. Any analog sticks have the possibility to drift, that’s just the nature of modern controllers, but the analog sticks in these Power A controllers lack the more obvious design flaws in the JoyCon, and therefore are significantly less likely to drift
