Completely agree with the neighborhood system. Especially since they described that as being a core feature 2 years ago. Being able to share a neighborhood with your friends. The furniture itself needs to be intractable. Not being able to sit on chairs, lay on beds or mess with knick knacks is really depressing.
Fixes: 1. Better character creation: Beards and body types. 2. Non-MTX cosmetics: I get that it's free to play, but I would like some of the clothing and cosmetics options to be obtainable through quests. They can still have the cash shop, they could even sell fancy furniture there, but not all of it should be locked behind a paywall. 3. Workbench: I agree a favorites tab or a crafting queue to make more than 20 arrows at a time. 4 Swimming maybe diving. 5. Interactable furniture. 6. No time gating: Shorter craft times, halve grow times/water 2 times a day, and replace house timer with more steps/materials.
The lack of a minimap is definitely a big lapse of judgement. Since everything looks the same, they need one. It would be fine without one if they had landmarks or buildings looked different.
Mini map was the first thing I said to my friends. Also, maybe a recipe book you can look at while you're out farming in case you forget what you need.
Interact with furniture's? Swimming? recover stamina when you stop in middle of climbing? more animals to hunt? mini boss where all players in a server can fight together? community events like in harvest moon where you can race your pets? chicken derby? horse racing? there's so many things to add. the Problem is either the Devs doesn't have the skills to code this or they have this idea in mind but will implement it slowly to keep players logging in. Hopefully players don't get bored before that happens.
Agreed. So much is missing. So little has been added aside from minor additions since the alpha. Actual engaging mechanics are lacking. Boss fights won't happen they have been pretty stubborn stating no combat. But maybe in the form of "hunting" hopefully.
There needs to be a way to sell or salvage furniture. Leveling it up just bogs down your inventory. I know it doesn't cost slots...it just clutters it.
I can agree on almost all the things you listed. Kind of related to the Character Expression is the ability to interact with more of your furniture: Sit in chairs, sleep in/ on beds. In order to organize not only the workbench but also a lot of other "long lists" a search functionality on pretty much all of them would help a lot. It also needs more reasons to bring people together. They still should be optional, so solo players don't get a disadvantage here.
I´m building a tavern intead of a house, and want to see a music rocolla, an option to prepare food and drinks for my friends to take and enjoy (maybe craft some souvenir to give away after a reunion i organize). Full interaction with chairs, bed, tables, lights... maybe voice chat inhouse
In all honesty I have no issue with the cash shop in Palia because nothing in there impacts my game or restricts me from moving forward with my progress. I think people forget that this game is entire FREE-99. They have to figure out how to montize the game somewhere? I rather it be useless Cometics items than it being core game features. So I am not sure why so much people are upset in all honesty. I really agree with the neighborhood, chat bubbles and the trading system. It will make feel more like a MMO aspect of the game. It would be a great way for people to continue to interact with each other. MY SUGGESTIONS: - I do think they need more group objectives. Maybe side group only quest lines? where you need people to complete it, It can be like "party of 2 or more in order to start". - Weekly group puzzles where there is a dedicated area where you and your party go to compete in weekly puzzles to see who can finish the fastest. It can be like race amongst your friends and u get like a little trophy to put in your house. - Or like farming challenges, cooking challenges, fishing challeges where you are required to group up with people to complete get unique rewards. - Even Community events where different community go against each other for like a treasure hunt to find all the pieces or something of that nature.
1. Mini map is something I've been internally screaming about since I started playing. Having to open the full map to make sure I'm going the right way a lot of the time is frustrating. My sense of direction in games is abysmal lol. 2. My gripe with crafting bench is that if I want to create Smoke bombs en masse, it always resets which menu you're on when you click to make more. Having it open to the previous thing you crafted, or be able to craft multiples at one time would definitely help. 3.Chat is definitely a little dinky. I think optional chat bubbles would be neat, maybe not a feature I'd use per se. I'd like something like in Final Fantasy 14 where I can set a specific noise to alert me whenever someone says something in chat. 4. Agreed on all fronts lol 5. Agree part 2 electric boogaloo. Farm animals are so much fun. The pet/ cash shop controversy boggles my mind. You hit the nail on the head really. Every free to play game has cash shop cosmetics. It's how f2p games keep making money. I personally think these pay walled pets are more of a "tester" to see how they work for those who have essentially donated early. I'm sure some sort of free pet will come out eventually. 6. Weather would be pretty cool, but I would worry about how often the weather cycles. In Final Fantasy 14 weather cycles every 20 minutes real time. Some fish can only be caught in certain weather and at certain times. So some fishing spots only come up and are available every 3-4 days, sometimes even WEEKS before the stars align. Seasonal maps/events would be very cool though. 7. Personally I think the stamina bar should just be removed completely. #FreeClimbing 8. YES please give us sitting/dancing u-u 9. I would love to be able to trade with my friends for sure. But I think a free market would sort of ruin the games friendliness a bit. I enjoy calling out deer, flow trees, etc. If people were trying to sell those items it'd be disadvantageous to call them out and share the loot. Imo at least. Love your videos btw :)
#2 - that's SO annoying, isn't it?! We should be able to quantify how many we want to craft and do so once. Your hypothesis on the pets is intriguing...hope you're right! Free climbing would be wonderful too. Great suggestions!!
I'm pretty much done. I've finished what is available. There isn't enough farming/building a farm to keep me engaged. I'm moving on until full release. I really hope they improve everything, especially the farming. I really have enjoyed the game & I hope they really do listen to the community and make the necessary changes to make it successful.
Wow, really...even after last night's update? I'm still grinding for the largest backpack and storage chest, but I'll slow down at that point unless there's more added. I too lose interest once I near completion of the exciting tasks.
@@BuckeyeBunny I don't have the largest backpack, but that isn't enough to keep my interest. I did get in on August 4th I think it was, so I've been playing for a bit. I have killed both of the magic animals, have enough supplies, have my farm set up to maximize (what little there is) and have updated my house as much as I'm going to. I've completed the bundles and I could decorate a bit more and do a few quests they added (did 1 already), but that isn't enough content to keep me engaged. I'll visit it again after they full release. Enjoy!
It does seem odd that a cozy game only has shop-bought option for pets. I consider pets to be a major feature of games of this type. They may add different types that players can acquire in-game. Like domestication or a series of quests?
I want to see some sort of horizontal progression implemented. For example, if new adventure zones open up in the future, I want to see new base ingredients that can be combined with existing ingredients to make a bunch of new dishes that don't power creep focus. These could be recipes for display, a villager's favorite dish, or something else that narratively immerses the player into the world of Palia.
As an experienced MMORPG veteran, I can tell you the reason they likely don't want direct trading or selling of items to other players is because it can ruin the community, experience and sense of progression in the game. It also prevents the inevitable flooding of bots, the moment you add a form of trading or auction house vending it makes room for resource farming bots which will eventually flood the marketplace with items and materials. Stuff like this can ruin games, make the new player experience tougher or way too easy as well as devalue the effort someone puts into the game if they wanted to do everything themselves without relying on others. Someone might have a rare or unique item, but if it can just be sold on the marketplace by a bunch of bots that item is no longer as rare. There are ways to prevent this or diminish the effects of botting like adding a weekly or daily limit to selling and trading items, but being a free game, a person could script a bot to continuously make new accounts and farm to get around that as well. It's shocking the lengths people will go through to milk an MMO community of its money.
100% agree with all of this... only I would also add a method to craft multiple recipes on the workbench and the campfire that doesn't require a secondary table like the prep station or stoves... this way we don't have to scroll all the way down for arrows but can do it once and as long as you have the materials in your storage you can craft multiple recipes.
" craft multiple recipes on the workbench" omg yes! that's been bugging me too. and it becomes kinda annoying when u have reopen the craft menu everytime and search the item again everytime ._.
I second that notion about a minimap, the time of day indicator is totally redundant and pointless when theres a clock there next to it lol. Just need to have set times for dawn, daytime, dusk and night time . Definitely need more animals like you mention, chickens and cows especially. Only some pets should be behind the pay wall not all, same goes for anything really, clothes, mounts etc. I would love to see the character sprint replaced by mounts. I feel the game needs player to player trading. Need the ability to whisper any players on the server and most definitely we need a notification sound for whispers. Need a sort/filter option for player storage. Weather/seasons More storage crates 3,200 slots fills up super quick
SOOOOO RIGHT about the mini map!! Constantly checking mine as I'm directionally challenged lol Text chat is soooo tiny for my older eyes. Neighborhoods yas! And you were on the money with pets, it's a shame their store is so expensive. I'd be more excited if they halved their prices, they'd probably sell over twice as much if they did, thus making up for it. Great video!
You mentioned so many important points that are an essential part of an MMO for me. I would even see some important combinations, like working on a shared house as a community, with shared ressources. Also, I would be so interested to mimick the "raids" of a fighting MMO in Palia, i.e. without fighting, but with using the skills we have in game. Cooking kind of goes in that direction, but maybe this could be done on a much larger scale?
Agree with much of this and the comments: mini-map, speech bubbles, neighbourhood. I just wanted to add that there's a few places already that promise new small sections or an entire new zone. There are some doors that don't open. And then in the bottom right corner over the river, there's the trail that goes through a small canyon... but you can't travel down it. That has to be the target of a new adventure zone one day.
I found your channel through looking into palia as I've been playing it the past week or so since open beta. I wanna say that I love the content and I think you were right on the money with a large amount of the points you made, something I'd like to add however is monetization. I understand paid cosmetics in a free game however the way that palia coins are currently priced is inexcusably predatory. If you do some math on the amounts of coins received, it always adds to a strange amount meaning you are just shy of using them all and encouraging you to buy more. I understand this is industry standard but it's simply slimely and I hope the devs come to realize this. Regardless I find the game very entertaining and plan to keep playing (even if I refuse to spend in the cash shop due to my own moral decisions) Lastly, again, wonderful video! I'll be keeping an eye out for you in my sub box!!!
Thank you for your kind words 🥰 and your input on the coins. I agree that they are priced very high, especially when you compare popular free-to-play titles like Overwatch and Fortnite's shops. Still, however, since I have no life, I have found a way to rationalize buying some Palia coins, though I don't anticipate repeating this often unless the price drops (which is doubtful).
I absolutely agree with all of your points. I've been having so much fun with Palia, and seeing these changes would make it even better. :-) Building on the point about additional maps, I would love to see unlockable fast travel points to help us get to the other maps more quickly.
there are travel boards, that you can pay coin to port you to the other map or for 10 coin back home. (FYI your map has a free travel home with a 30min cooldown).
I totally agree. Farming is one of the features I enjoy the most, and being locked to only 9 soil plots means there is only 5m worth of work to do every ingame day, even if we wanted to expand the operation! Id also really like a filter/favorite/search feature with crafting. Making 200 arrows at a time feels so clunky clicking through the menus over and over
I neeeed a mini map!! I also need some sort of "log book" that is more organized than the accomplishments. Where I can read about every fish I caugh or seen, bugs, meals, foraging and so on. And about the pets, would be cool to have pet battles like WoW, or you do something with the pets.. not just let them run behind you..
absolutely been loving this game and have done everything and mastered all levels up until the last main story mission, I agree with all points and I"d love to see more player interaction! I was under the impression I could actually have a potluck with friends so I grinded out every recipe made a full table spread of food and fully decorated my house just to find out you can only cook together !
we should be able to interact with seats, beds, stuff like that. social interactions with objects in our houses or even an emote to be able to sit or lay down. I also think bikes would be cool? or other mounts- i just feel like bikes make sense
I don’t mind the premium store in a f2p game, however it’s super expensive. Especially when you have to spend like $30-40 on getting a bundle of the same pet, just different colors. That can be a whole game. I hope they revisit the premium store and adjust the prices.
I think a lot of these will be coming to palia, or will be addressed before the beta ends because so many of them (a mini map, livestock, interactive houses, etc) just make so much sense. 1 thing id personally like to see is swimming. It's tends to get annoying if you accidentally fall in water over your head only to get warped back when being able to swim in water up to a certain depth would be a helpful fix
@@BuckeyeBunny I also like the idea of weather and seasons. I think this would work rather nicely with the concept of content cycles, both to a small degree with weather, and to a larger degree with seasons.
For me it's honestly that they need to add some sort of reason beyond flow trees to have the game be multiplayer. There is no content, there is no economy. At the moment, it's really just a worse stardew valley which, if you enjoy it, is fine, but why wouldn't I just play stardew? Yes, I get the "cozy" aspect of it, but even in stardew there are things that you can work towards (animals, building upgrades, progressing in the mines, ginger island, festivals, etc) and in Palia it really feels like there is nothing to work towards and if you're going to have the game be multiplayer, then there needs to be some sort of multiplayer aspect. Not being able to trade in an online multiplayer game just feels really bad. I can't really think of anything that requires cooperation outside of chopping down flow trees and once you upgrade your axe enough you can even do that on your own. Having a sharehold where different members of your friend group could all donate different materials towards projects would be a huge improvement here. Having player run market stalls would be a huge improvement here. I don't mind a cash shop. Believe me, I don't. I play gachas and BDO for chrissake, so paying for skins etc isn't an issue for me, but when you have to pay for basically all customization it becomes an issue. Why can you not craft clothing in a game that has no content outside of crafting and gathering? There is already a loom in game. You can already craft cloth in game. There is a clothing store full of empty mannequins. That's such a gimme that I have to wonder what the devs are thinking. Not having animal husbandry for a game like this is also a little eyebrow raising. Not having some sort of animal system in a game like this feels like a HUGE oversight. Imagine being able to raise a horse and then ride it around. Imagine being able to cook special animal feed that would improve the animal byproducts. Why is this not a thing? Waste of potential. Also why can you not interact with furniture? Why was this not programmed in from the get go? RP content is going to be vital to keeping Palia alive and it feels like they have totally snubbed it. I don't even RP and I can tell this is going to be a Problem with a capital P down the line. It really takes some of the magic out of the game when everything is tied to the cash shop. Fortnite etc are games that are not heavily based around customization. The cosmetics are totally optional from a gameplay perspective. In Palia, the cosmetics are the point. There needs to be something available through gameplay. Being able to tame a pet in the open world feels like a gimme, I have no idea why they haven't done this. Betas are meant to be feature complete tests. This is not feature complete. I had been planning on maining this game since it was announced. Quitting it after a week was one of the more disappointing gaming related things I've experienced recently. It honestly feels like the game was not ready and got pushed into open beta because the devs ran out of money. Like really, truly, I think they didn't really know where they were going with the game and ran out of cash before they figured it out. This is why it is so risky for new companies to push out an "MMO" (palia is not really an MMO, it's missing too many features) as their first game. You have to get it right directly out of the gate or it becomes a race to staunch the bleed before they go bankrupt. The devs do not need to be pushing cash shop content right now. They need to be pushing player retention. The competition right now is BALDUR'S GATE. Trying to say that an unfinished product like this should be acceptable right around the retail release of BG3 is very questionable. Yes, it's free, but you are still competing with paid games. You are competing with BG3, you are competing with FF14. There is a major content patch for Stardew on the horizon. Minecraft is constantly updated. Being F2P can excuse some of the issues, but it's naive to think that people will not purchase and devote time to other games just because Palia is free. Yes, being F2P makes it easier to take a break and come back later, but if too many people do this and don't support the game financially (which they will not if there isn't content to justify the cosmetics), the servers will go down and the game will die. I really hope they fix the issues before Palia turns into a cautionary tale. Being the first of this type of game, if Palia hits the dirt we may not get games like it in the future. I would much rather pay a sub and get a feature complete game that doesn't have a giant portion of content shut behind a paywall than deal with the f2p mess we have now.
i think if all pets in the future have to be bought then i think its very money hungry and not a good omen for the future of Palia but if this was more of a test for there first pets that's fine but i think a healthy mix is a way to go where you have earnable pets and paid ones but for the first pet to be a cat the most basic of pets and it has to be bought irl then that probably means all others will be to so i very much hate it! Also they have made this bed now because making the cat free in the future may make a lot of people mad...
Another thing that would absolutely up this game is a mount system. Yes, there is fast travel but it takes the immersion out of it. I want to run places and gather along the way, which gets tiresome, and they can do so much with this system. Think of all the cute mounts they can give us
Definitely agree on the need to be able to interact with furniture even if it’s just a sit option. I haven’t bothered so much with the house either because of the lack of this. Also yes the game really needs those in world chat bubbles - it feels weirdly non social right now without it. I think the feature of having your own barn must be coming - Delila actually mentions it in one of her chats.
I agree with a lot of your points but gosh, I don't think I'd even continue to play if I was forced to live in a neighbourhood. I play to relax, either alone or with people I choose to be around. If they ever do it, I really hope they make it optional.
You can tell new maps/zones are coming. There are a couple of spots when paths lead to an invisible wall, those are the already planned expansions. I figure they are holding them back for official release.
There should be a community searching system. I want to join a community, but I can't do it! And some dungeons, like a fair, or some teambuilding mini-games or events, where you can go with your friends, or alone to meet people. Also, a friend-searching feature. Some activity for teams, like beach volleyball, or golf, or football, or tennis, or chess even - or board games, there are some without pvp. It's an mmo, people come to mmo games to make friends! (RL can be tough) If you call it our home, then make it such. BTW, the world looks barren right now, it's vast, but empty. Maybe, more npcs, or players, or insects, or animals, anything, or just make locations smaller.
Agree with all your improves. I would add better reasons to group. Right now, it feels there isn't enough incentive/reward for group play... maybe 50% more ore/flow wood for each aditional player to hit. Shared drops for party when hunting bugs or animals. The group fishing is good and should be an example for how group activities should be better than solo. You can fish fine solo, but 50% faster in a group is... well better, right?
Yes to all!!! Especially an option for farm animals on yoir plot for extra income... more quests... more maps to explore... minimap yes!!! You took the words right out of my mouth!... maybe more animals to hunt... i know this is a game where killing is to a minimum but maybe do like stardrw valley almost where you can go into some areas "like a mine" and maybe have the opportunity to kill small monsters for rare loot... also... to be able to swim would be nice for added adventure and loot...
An in-game trade option/ auction house would be really good, maybe I'm just very unlucky, but i havent seen a single request for days, I guess its a low pop server, or something. I can't even complete the Generosity quest because of this. Oh and +1 to a minimap for sure.
A lot of people I play with complain about the minimap. I thought that it not being there was a deliberate choice, as minimaps are one of the most over powered features. It facilitates a shortcut in your brain to abstract the your surroundings in a spatial map. It should take time to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and navigate based on landmarks and memory.
Trading idea: x5 trades every irl day. trades must be within 500g of one another (prevents RWT) dungeon/combat: they already have lore for swords, a sinkhole opening up, or a new region could be opened up, with HP bar, Combat, maybe when a optional PvP flagging system. combat and getting better gear is a Massive motivator, for a lot of other games. if you have no motivation to play a game, you don't play it anymore.
I'm gonna make a video of my own with thoughts of how I'd wanna see palia grow, but a quick one would be a mini game that puts you into a random house like an Easter egg hunt.
Honestly, I'd rather have the time of day wheel than a minimap. Cos if I get lost, I can always open the map, no big deal. (Also, as you get more familiar with the areas you'll get lost or turned around less often.). The time of day wheel, however, is essential when you wanna try and catch a specific kind of fish like, for example, a kind of fish that only can be caught during the mornings or evenings. Without the time of day wheel, I'm not able to tell whether it's still evening or night already (cos nights per se aren't really all THAT dark) or whether it's still morning or day already.
"Opens up to furniture which I never craft because I can't sell it." To me, this is the biggest question mark in the whole game. Why have such a big crafting tree with no actual benefits outside of impressing Esh? especially when certain essential items (like the biggest expansion to inventory bag) is so expensive that chasing gold becomes the real game? It seems bizarre, even in a Beta level game. Everything that you use to make the furniture has "gold value" in the market, but not the furniture?
Nice points. I hate that you need to pay for the pet. Currently, I see the game as a farming mobile game that you can run around in 3D and all the time gating. 7 days out in Beta and already new things to spend real money on.
What i do, since we dont have minimap, is i put the character on auto run so i can open the map and still move, while seeing where i need to turn. The thing i think needs and urgent rework is the chat, cause the chat history disappears when you go through a loading screen, if you're talking in a server you'll be moved to a different one so you cant keep talking, and you dont even have tabs to separate the different chats, to focus on one you cant see the rest later. its probably the worst chat i've seen in a game
Almost finished making a house in Palia :) Going to be playing more over the weekened. I agree with adding the mini map if they do, would make traveling a whole lot easier.
Remove stamina. More animals on the map like wolfs, bears, rabbits, foxes and birds. Items swap between players ( x item for y item) A way out from your plot to the second map. An automatic sistem for watering crops or an npc that can take care of your garden. Fast travel from your map with 10 gold so you don't have to wait until you can travel for free or go to the fast travel post.
Everyday i playing this game just for looking iron/palium node like crazy in the same place and i can see that a lot of people just do the same as me. That is boring. Server lag fix!!! More player interaction like we can klik player and directly choose whisper or add friend. More animal to hunt beside smurk or chappa like maybe snake or wild boar or dear.
For the palium ore, if it's not at the spawn place, try closing your game and restarting. I've often then gotten a server where the ore is still up for grabs. :)
1. I thought I did something wrong at first. That day and night cycle thing looked like an OBVIOUS minimap to me and I was pondering how to unlock it. 2. Oh goodness ME yes. Search bar and for those of us that do craft furniture, a way to sort uncrafted and already crafted recipes. 3. I feel the whole chat system is REALLY clunky. The whole social system to be honest. It is such a hassel how to figure out how to invite to groups for example. 4. And I do hope at least they give us more ways to customize the house, second floor and so on. 5 I would love some animals! I do suspect they would have that in line though as a natural progression. The pets. .the pets was such a dissappointment though. So cute but locked behind a pay wall?!?!? The cost of those coins are really steep. If they made things cheaper I think more people would buy it. Right now it is a bit too expensive. I can maybe motivate myself to buy something for 20 euros in a game but not 35. I mean.. I happily EARN my animal in game, just like we grind up romance and relationships. Pet furniture would maybe be a thing in the future? 6 I do hope they do weather, rain! I would love that! 7. So far I have not had too much problem with stamina but I THINK my stamina is more then when I Started. I feel I have a lot more then when I begun. 7. I don't mind the emotes but sittable furniture! Lying down in bed! 8. Argh the char creation. That made me weep. 9. I am guessing the gifting system is a thing so a newcomer won't just burn through the content by getting everything for free? But YES! Selling treasure chests and furniture. So much money goes into making them! 10. Well of course there will be more content and quests! They proved that just today. Look at the bundles and all the closed secret temples you find all over the place. . Sidenote. You need to start farming! properly! You will have well over 10k in no time. I have upgraded my house for close to 100k by now and I make tons on tomatoes.
Thanks for all your input! I need to learn to farm properly...haven't taken the time and just try to sprinkle crops in various spots so they support one another. Maybe tomatoes is the way to go! :)
Update.. if you befriend tamala and go into her room there is a History of the order there. It says "the first Council divided Palia into thirteen states, each ruled by its own king, queen or elected councilor" I am specculating that the game will have these 13 states as one zone each, hopefully with different climates. and ps. .mounts. I would love cool mounts. I am thinking that the barn towards the temple in the village will be the place we can in the future buy farming animals.. and hopefully mounts.
def agree with u, but i who enjoys upgrading my house n crafting furniture, really want to be able interact with some of them ^^' to just sit down on my couch u know (i haven't used a single emote the whole time i've been playing, i just jump xD)
Tbf I feel as though pets will be more available in the future maybe through events for players to work towards the current pet implementation is basic and lacks a few things we want (let me pet my cat I beg you) and is obviously still early so in the future I’m expecting free ways to obtain pets to come sooner rather than later
You are correct. There are indeed farm animal assets in the games files. So odds are there will be farm based animals. Also, the devs have said that it is something they want to add.
100% on the workbench ui. I feel the chat fades too quickly as well. Interacting with furniture for both players and pets. Cooking treats for Tau and other animal companions. Maybe add rodents to bug catching. Different housing and fence styles. I get where you're coming from for the weather but that would be quite difficult on the coding end. The need for better climbing stamina, body types, and additional emotes is the type of positive feedback we need to be giving to the devs. People should Ask for it, not demand. The trading system. I disagree as it is to ripe for exploitation. I've already seen those annoying gold selling bots in the chat, I have no doubt they would try to exploit a trading system. That said, having furniture be a tradable item through the gifting system, with an additional search filter, would be a win. I think if the game does well out of Beta we will see more content. That Backbone of the Community has mentioned a pilgrimage to the mountain top, that could be additional content and could be a snowy area to explore.
#1 about 5x more craftables at a minimum #2 a ton more different crops to plant #3 the ability to somehow use the furniture you make or at the very least can i please actually sit on chairs and benches. Also just more actual uses for the houses at all. #4 more options for homestead locations. Like not just a forest but maybe a more water based location, fire based etc. The game already has the whole element thing. #5 seasons and seasonal events #6 actual activities/games for people to play together. Not just mining or fishing the same rock or fishing the same spot but actual games of some kind with unique rewards. You know things that would make this game actually feel like an "mmo" cause frankly imo it really isnt atm.
Palia bills itself as a community building game. Maybe S6 means with the NPCs. But for this game to have legs and stand out as MMO stardew valley, it needs to have Player community building. By which i mean the tools for player driven activities that build communities. An event run by S6 is good, but finite. Event tools that let a player-community host an event would be amazing. Potlucks? Bingo Sundays? Bug catching tournaments? Scheduled mining runs? Weddings? Theres toms of possibilities, but they all rely on S6 giving players the tools and abilities to organize, build, and run community events.
As a noob to MMOs, I don't know much about such community events, but they sound very intriguing and a positive way to bring the community together instead of merely running across each other during gameplay.
I agree with all the things you just brought up especially sitting an sleeping I would like to acces my cheat without running all the way home to put things away.
while I'm enjoying the game, i don't think it was ready for an open beta yet. The update/hotfix yesterday is a prime example, it seems to have broken a lot of gathering spawns in Bahari Bay. while I expected "premium pets" (i.e. better colors & maybe gather your loot bags from hunting) to be in the cash shop, I thought they'd at least release a "base/common" pet that could be purchased from a new NPC "pet store" or tamed in some way (like giving it fish & befriending it like you would an NPC). The fact that pets are purely cosmetic is a bit disappointing. The jump from 5k to 50k for the final backpack upgrade is astronomical, I was expecting 10k not a x4 jump in cost. we also need to be able to sell items we no longer want or need. (i.e. Furniture) we spend a lot of mats making them (quests) and if they're unwanted there is no way to recoup the loss & they end up taking up space in our storage that can be used for other items. I love the idea of a Neighborhood. Here's my idea. a "community only instance/neighborhood" Just like our housing instance, it will have up to 25 plots (one for each member) and be blocked off by "sidewalks/walkway like paths" between each plot, a new plot will open each time a member joins & locks when a member leaves (auto assigned plots) and each plot can be decorated as the member wants. I wouldn't allow food gardening, as you don't want this to be your main home, but something you do with your community, but I'd substitute decorative plants & flowers & bushes instead of veggies & food items. someone could turn their plot into a community Park, or a huge garden maze as their contribution to the Neighborhood. If someone is uninterested in using their neighborhood plot, they can "open" it up to the other members or the community leader to utilize.
My complaint about the pets isn't that they cost money, it's how much. $35.00 USD isn't exactly small change for a lot of us, especially retired old codgers like myself. $5.00 each would be far more reasonable, in my opinion.
No, no minimap, or at least the chance to disable it The workbench could use submenus and have categories with each type of crating Chat bubbles again, chance to disable it. Houses need doors!! And chance to get rid of walls and just have open area Yes!! Animals! I need my Ormuu farm Pets should be usefull, like have a friendship level and they can loot for you or get you items the higher the friendship level (and of course if they do this a generic free pet for everyone) actually there could be a story line for you to get your pet Weather and seasons, YES!!! Also days, not dates or day/night cycle but days that way villagers can have diferent activities on some days On top of the request system have it to where you can gift 1 thing every 24hrs to a friend (only things they have gotten and or furniture)
NO mini map? 😱 You must have good spatial awareness and visual recall. 😁 But yes, a way to disable it would be perfect. Basically, quality of life improvements with options is what many of us seem to crave.
@@BuckeyeBunny Well, no and yes, I've played SO SO many game with mini map that you become really dependent to and when i realize i havent look at the game for a while just moving on the minimap, my fisrt few days in Palia did hurt with no map, but it drove me to get my bearrings and know to where im heading to. i still get lost and have to look at the map from time to time as a helpful tool and not my main source of location.
I personally haven’t played Palia yet as my computer is terrible for playing game’s so I have to wait for switch. That said I am disappointed with the fact pets are a premium thing but I understand the need for it and frankly and you technically get more then just the cats as then you have the money to spend on something else. However, and this could be the fact I am not used to micro transactions until Disney Dreamlight Valley. But the price for virtual skins and pets just feels extremely expensive. I also would like more construction options when it comes to house or lot. Namely I want a multi story house and the ability to select different plots. For example I would like a beach plot in Bahari Bay or something
Mini map yes please!!! and a clock that matches your real time. I don't mind them having pets you have to pay for but at least let high level hunters get one or tame one! World of Warcraft gets that one right on pets, you can buy them with real money or find them in-game. I would love to /sit haha!
I wanna Name my pet. Also, the neighborhood idea would be amazing. Probably hell to code tho. Also on the not of climbing. needs to be fixed I'm constantly getting stuck. Also i would love to vist the city Reth talks about.
Darker costume colors. More colors for Paid Costumes. Woodsperson/woodsman/woodwoman or Lumber(jack/Jill/person) . different body types. heavy, medium, normal, athletic, petite.. & so on, guild (community base, shop/cart) smaller than Zeki's under ground. Kilts!! also skirts that go to the knees, plus a great plaid Kilt, then a jacket
I think pets are a great opportunity for monetization but paying for a new feature that we are supposed to be beta testing seems rough, especially with no free options. Right now pets are a bit disappointing given I'd love pets to be a more fleshed out feature, being able to interact with them, give them places in your homes, just buying a pet and equipping it with no quest to get to know your pet makes me sad. Pet cosmetics should be a huge premium shop item but if pets get fleshed out more as a core game function (which I hope they do) then they need a more accessible option
ohhh like a huge Flow tree suddenly appears and you need at least 10 or more people to cut it down & until its chopped down, no other flow trees will spawn, cause its sucking up all the magic in the area!
What I would MOST like is to multiple craft. It's annoying to have to go through the list times just to make 100 arrows. If they could just split the furniture inventory to one side, instead of including it. You're not going to be using it for anything else so why have it all there? Also I would like to know what's on the other side of the old wall in my yard. It has a crack in it and I can see a lake and a structure, and possibly a dock? I don't mind the pets being that way as you're not forced to pay individually. I know it means free players don't get one (yet?), but I bought an outfit and got cats as a bonus.
@@BuckeyeBunny Also also, being able to prep ingredients in advance. I mean, who leaves it until everything else is going and then burning stuff? It even has a name - mis en place. So where is the sense in having to rush bits?
To me the option to have it singleplayer would be awesome, I might be in minority but gaming to me is escaping from other people and reality and it breaks the immersion whenever I leave my plot because there will be 5 people standing at the exit or when I want to talk with an npc someone else will show up to do the same. It bothers me a bit, especially when I try to gather resources and it basically becomes a race between me and other players
I get this, as I have only played Palia solo so far. If I want to socialize, I have plenty of other games to play, but it is nice to sometimes play without the stress of interacting.
The Bard clothing set has a guitar across the back. It would be awesome if there was a Guitar playing emote for that. It could be an "Air Guitar" emote for those that don't have the Bard clothes.
some cosmetics should just have their own special extra emote they can do like the bards guitar, would be cool if they could just grab it and play it/emote with it
hi Buckeye bunny! Hope ur doing well teehee. This game sounds interesting 😮 I have a suggestion, about the minimap, we can kind of move the time of day tracker like make it a bit smaller and add a mini map on top of it.
Totally agree with everything you said. I would also love to be able to visit other people's plots, even if they are offline. Similar to Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Palia is the first PC game that I have ever played. Well...there was Oregon Trail in 4th grade. Anyway, I digress. I literally bought a handheld PC just to have access to this game during beta because I didn't want to wait for it to come to Switch lol. I do not regret my decision, I am totally invested and loving it so far. I have my sister playing it as well. I think(hope) that they listen to suggestions and feedback because I want this game to be around for years to come🙂
Ha! I played Oregon Trail but it was much younger than 4th grade. 😂 What handheld PC did you buy? I have a Steam Deck but am too lazy to figure out how to load Windows and thus the Palia launcher.
@BuckeyeBunny I bought the new ASUS ROG ALLY. It has Windows 11. Some people hate it, but I love that it has Windows, I have easier access to more games across different platforms . Ofcourse, I have it set up like a mini desktop at the moment. I am anxiously awaiting for the game to fully launch the controller support. Then I can play it in handheld mode.
Id like the ability to fulfill other players wants directly from my stash instead of whats in my inventory id like to be able to interact with the furniture in my house
So I don't love that the pets are paid items but they don't do anything to make players have advantage. I would be a bit more happy if they do eventually add free pets too. If only just a few options so that everyone can have a pet. Keeping specials as cash shop in that case would feel better to me. Regardless, I have four cats now in Palia 😂. My BIGGEST want is better inventory and storage. I'm capped out on inventory and it's mostly crafting items. I feel like we are drastically limited here. Especially if you're like me and want to work on furniture crafting. You literally waste so much because you can't keep all of what you make, else your inventory just explodes. I'm also wishing for the ability to sit, lay, etc. With that I want pet interactions. If I sit, I want my pet to sit or lay next to me too.
I hit my storage cap too and had to start selling things (hoarder problems, lol). The bigger storage chest is SO expensive! YES, pet interactions - and petting other people's pets - would be pawesome!!
@BuckeyeBunny I see things with lack of animations and it just kills my heart because I work in 3D and can animate. I sit there talking to my screen, "just let me give you the cutest sit animation ever please!" I'd honestly LOVE the opportunity to provide animations to the Palia team for free in return of being able to use the animations and mesh example in a professional portfolio. Ughhh. Maybe some day.
Supposedly, the devs have quite a massive team (not sure if this is true), so hopefully details like you mentioned are eventually addressed. I'd love to see your online portfolio if you have one. I can't draw worth a lick but am infatuated with graphics. :)
First an before all.. we need to be able to interact with furniture. Why can't we sit down? Would be much more comfortable to sit while meeting up with friends. 🙂 And I hope they add other paying options than creditcard only (in Europe) so.. ne pets for those without cc Thanks for your video!!
So 100% agree, but what you are asking for really already exist.. it's called World of Warcraft. (minus the farming, [though if you have your own garrison it'd there])
Oh Warcraft...I haven't played that since the late 90s, lol. (Yep, I'm old). I'm sure a lot has changed with Warcraft...not sure it has the cute vibes I'm currently digging though. 😊
I would get rid of that annoying mini-game, it is the only thing in a game that makes me stop playing games. An action to chop or stir food, yes that is fine but having a timed action and mouse movement or controller to play a mini-game is so frustrating. The climbing up a cliff and running out of stamina really put me off. Let people rest to recover their energy. Even the real world time when crafting is really silly especially in a game.
Do really hope can sell the furniture or at least if I want to destroy it, I can get at least 50% or 30% material from it. By the way we can visit friends house.
IMO the cash shop is overpriced. Hear me out. IMO they should have over 30-80 different outfits and each outfit being 1-5$. That will get more people to open up their wallet/purse to buy one. We all know once you done it once you will be more likely to do it again, and again .. Which in the long haul will generate more then I swear the price of a game for one outfit set. Doing the cheaper method will ensure a steady revenue stream for a long time to come. As it is now, well it is a smaller pool of people willing to spend that much for just 1 outfit set. Heck I am not even commenting on what my opinion is of the cloths appearance. :( As to the cats, While I have no issue with some things being "rewards" for supporting our game type thing. We are in beta so there should have been something given to all so that we can stress test how the server responds to having everyone with a pet. Are there server issues, are there client issues, so on and so forth. I believe long term they will offer a way to get eggs, milk, butter so on and so forth. We are just in beta/early access type mode and not everything is implemented yet. Then again maybe they won't so that this is a coin sink, since there are so few of them. /shrug As to a player driven market, I seriously doubt that will happen. The team at palia doesn't want a way for players to easily get coin. Which is what happens with every player driven market. This happens because sooner or later coin will mean nothing to a person. Granted we are still in very early stages of this game, but it will happen. There really aren't any coin sinks. Yea yea I know the upgrades costs, but eventually you will have them, then what do you spend it on.. After that is gotten then what.. see eventually it will become just something you have with no real need or use. That said, I personally think furniture should be sellable in the shipping bin. Just do like cooking, and have it only be worth the raw parts without a chance to get a star so there is no incentive to actually do that other then to recoup some after using it to raise your skills.
I get it...you think the premium shop should run on a Walmart principle of selling more for less, and I agree. Look at Fortnite...I buy much more since their prices are cheaper, and in Palia, I'll only buy something if I REALLY love it. I'm sure they performed an analysis on the pricing model, and for some reason, thought this was best. 🤷♀️
What do YOU think Palia NEEDS to survive?
Proximity chat - so we can actually chat to people nearby.
@@silvercat18 I'm torn on voice chat. It might make the game less chill, but if there's an option to turn it off, that'd work. 😊
@@BuckeyeBunny Well, not voice chat - just a /say that means we dont have to talk to the entire server when saying thankyou or offering help.
Blood and gore.
My biggest issue with the pets is they are too costly. I've bought entire digital games for the price they are charging for the pets.
Completely agree with the neighborhood system. Especially since they described that as being a core feature 2 years ago. Being able to share a neighborhood with your friends. The furniture itself needs to be intractable. Not being able to sit on chairs, lay on beds or mess with knick knacks is really depressing.
Fixes:
Agreed, or a furniture specific chest or something.
ive been putting All mine into my lockboxes LOL
See?! I'd LOVE to see creative housing plots like this! Palia NEEDS neighborhoods!!
MY SUGGESTIONS:
- I do think they need more group objectives.
I'd love group activities, especially if they allow randoms to pair, as I have no friends who play this.
4. Agreed on all fronts lol
#FreeClimbing
8. YES please give us sitting/dancing u-u
Like domestication or a series of quests?
theyre going to add free options eventually, i think. for now they seem to be rewards for beta supporters.

Its not about having to pay for the pets it's about the fact that they are cosmetic and do literally nothing at all
As an experienced MMORPG veteran, I can tell you the reason they likely don't want direct trading or selling of items to other players is because it can ruin the community, experience and sense of progression in the game.
Wow, that's sad that people do things like this; it's hard to believe people stoop this low for something so menial as fictional in-game items.
Weather/seasons
More storage crates 3,200 slots fills up super quick
Work bench organization is key in any crafting game! I hope the devs listen to you. These are all solid points!
The fast travel needs to be similar to Dreamlight valley, just open map and travel to any fast travel sign board for free.
Old lady? I'll show you old lady LOL
You are too funny! So good to see you here, thanks for popping in!! 🤣
I hope you're right; I'd love some new map areas!
Building on the point about additional maps, I would love to see unlockable fast travel points to help us get to the other maps more quickly.
Ooh, that's a fantastic idea, and one that will keep people grinding too!
there are travel boards, that you can pay coin to port you to the other map or for 10 coin back home. (FYI your map has a free travel home with a 30min cooldown).
i wish we could have more soil plots.. 9 feels so limited for a farming game imo (i know its only beta but still..)😭
I didn't know there was a cap! You must be busy with 9!!!!
Great video! Can't wait to play this game. Are there dogs for pets or just cats?
Currently just cats, but I'm sure more pets will be coming.
absolutely been loving this game and have done everything and mastered all levels up until the last main story mission, I agree with all points and I"d love to see more player interaction!
Yes, swimming!!!
Many well-thought-out points. 🥰
i think if all pets in the future have to be bought then i think its very money hungry and not a good omen for the future of Palia but if this was more of a test for there first pets that's fine but i think a healthy mix is a way to go where you have earnable pets and paid ones but for the first pet to be a cat the most basic of pets and it has to be bought irl then that probably means all others will be to so i very much hate it!
Ooh, I missed Delila saying this!! Cool :)
Ooh, I can't wait!!!
Trading idea: x5 trades every irl day. trades must be within 500g of one another (prevents RWT)
dungeon/combat: they already have lore for swords, a sinkhole opening up, or a new region could be opened up, with HP bar, Combat, maybe when a optional PvP flagging system.
combat and getting better gear is a Massive motivator, for a lot of other games. if you have no motivation to play a game, you don't play it anymore.
Interesting...I always use the clock and never the TOD wheel, but I can see how it might be helpful to some.
Makes you wonder how much the devs actually got to play and tweak the game. Hopefully they will.
I had no idea you were actually playing!!! Let's go!!
@@BuckeyeBunny Yes ma'am :D Going to play some more later on tonight
Remove stamina. More animals on the map like wolfs, bears, rabbits, foxes and birds. Items swap between players ( x item for y item) A way out from your plot to the second map. An automatic sistem for watering crops or an npc that can take care of your garden. Fast travel from your map with 10 gold so you don't have to wait until you can travel for free or go to the fast travel post.
I second being able to go directly to Bahari Bay from your home! That would be a great time-saver!
I totally agree on all of this and I subscribed immediately.
Aw, I appreciate your support! 🥰
@@Chibi-kittenplays Ooh, juicy details, thanks!!
def agree with u, but i who enjoys upgrading my house n crafting furniture, really want to be able interact with some of them ^^' to just sit down on my couch u know (i haven't used a single emote the whole time i've been playing, i just jump xD)
Tbf I feel as though pets will be more available in the future maybe through events for players to work towards the current pet implementation is basic and lacks a few things we want (let me pet my cat I beg you) and is obviously still early so in the future I’m expecting free ways to obtain pets to come sooner rather than later
Yes! We need to be able to pet our pets!
You are correct. There are indeed farm animal assets in the games files. So odds are there will be farm based animals. Also, the devs have said that it is something they want to add.
Ooh, you know secrets. 😉
Join our chill Discord community! 😎discord.gg/bQsDhYmujv
Thank you for your input and comments! Yesterday's developer update shows that many of these are going to be addressed in the coming months! :)
#1 about 5x more craftables at a minimum
#2 a ton more different crops to plant
#3 the ability to somehow use the furniture you make or at the very least can i please actually sit on chairs and benches. Also just more actual uses for the houses at all.
#4 more options for homestead locations. Like not just a forest but maybe a more water based location, fire based etc. The game already has the whole element thing.
#5 seasons and seasonal events
#6 actual activities/games for people to play together.
I think you meant "chest," but "cheat" made me laugh. 😂 To think hackers would try to cheat in a game like this...but they probably do.
while I'm enjoying the game, i don't think it was ready for an open beta yet.
A neighborhood community would be so much fun!
Yes please minimappppp ! They could put part inside the circle just outside and the minimap inside. Everything you said I think the sameeee😂
My complaint about the pets isn't that they cost money, it's how much. $35.00 USD isn't exactly small change for a lot of us, especially retired old codgers like myself. $5.00 each would be far more reasonable, in my opinion.
I concur. Hopefully, since this pet set is a "thank you" to those who bought coins, the next pets will be priced individually and more affordable. :)
I'd love to see community plots.
Me too!!
No, no minimap, or at least the chance to disable it
The workbench could use submenus and have categories with each type of crating
Chat bubbles again, chance to disable it.
Houses need doors!! And chance to get rid of walls and just have open area
Yes!! Animals! I need my Ormuu farm
Pets should be usefull, like have a friendship level and they can loot for you or get you items the higher the friendship level (and of course if they do this a generic free pet for everyone) actually there could be a story line for you to get your pet
Weather and seasons, YES!!! Also days, not dates or day/night cycle but days that way villagers can have diferent activities on some days
On top of the request system have it to where you can gift 1 thing every 24hrs to a friend (only things they have gotten and or furniture)
YES YES YES, absolutely YES. Love all things. ♥
Great points:)
Mini map yes please!!! and a clock that matches your real time. I don't mind them having pets you have to pay for but at least let high level hunters get one or tame one! World of Warcraft gets that one right on pets, you can buy them with real money or find them in-game. I would love to /sit haha!
With some of the conversations you have with npc's, it sounds like they are planning on having farm animals at some point.
I wanna Name my pet. Also, the neighborhood idea would be amazing. Probably hell to code tho. Also on the not of climbing. needs to be fixed I'm constantly getting stuck. Also i would love to vist the city Reth talks about.
A waypoint in chat function like FFXIV /flag system would be great.
Darker costume colors. More colors for Paid Costumes.
Woodsperson/woodsman/woodwoman or Lumber(jack/Jill/person) .
different body types. heavy, medium, normal, athletic, petite.. & so on,
guild (community base, shop/cart) smaller than Zeki's under ground.
Kilts!! also skirts that go to the knees, plus a great plaid Kilt, then a jacket
All good ideas! I believe their road map mentioned more body types.
id like to see 2 and 3 star things come to the game honestly..
I would like to see open world events that multiple people can join for rewards. Similar to Guild Wars 2.
I'm new to MMOs, but that sounds like a lot of fun, especially for people like me who don't have many friends playing Palia.
ohhh like a huge Flow tree suddenly appears and you need at least 10 or more people to cut it down & until its chopped down, no other flow trees will spawn, cause its sucking up all the magic in the area!
I didn't notice the crack...intriguing!!
@@BuckeyeBunny Also also, being able to prep ingredients in advance. I mean, who leaves it until everything else is going and then burning stuff? It even has a name - mis en place. So where is the sense in having to rush bits?
@@Ethrianor Who burns the meat while prepping veggies IRL? Me!! 🤣🤣
@@BuckeyeBunny Ah well, should be okay to leave it then 😁
To me the option to have it singleplayer would be awesome, I might be in minority but gaming to me is escaping from other people and reality and it breaks the immersion whenever I leave my plot because there will be 5 people standing at the exit or when I want to talk with an npc someone else will show up to do the same.
This game sounds interesting 😮
I have a suggestion, about the minimap, we can kind of move the time of day tracker like make it a bit smaller and add a mini map on top of it.
Hey MJ!! Hope you're well as well! Thanks for stopping by! 😁
Totally agree with everything you said. I would also love to be able to visit other people's plots, even if they are offline. Similar to Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Yes!! In Longvinter, you can give friends a passcode to your house and they can enter any time. Plus, they have neighborhoods. Wish Palia had this.
What handheld PC did you buy? I have a Steam Deck but am too lazy to figure out how to load Windows and thus the Palia launcher.
@BuckeyeBunny I bought the new ASUS ROG ALLY. It has Windows 11. Some people hate it, but I love that it has Windows, I have easier access to more games across different platforms . Ofcourse, I have it set up like a mini desktop at the moment. I am anxiously awaiting for the game to fully launch the controller support. Then I can play it in handheld mode.
@@beharmonika Ooh, I've seen the Ally! Very cool!!
Id like the ability to fulfill other players wants directly from my stash instead of whats in my inventory
id like to be able to interact with the furniture in my house
when you log off you do so by clicking on a bed and going sleep
Yes, we need a mini map and farm animals so bad
First an before all.. we need to be able to interact with furniture. Why can't we sit down? Would be much more comfortable to sit while meeting up with friends. 🙂 And I hope they add other paying options than creditcard only (in Europe) so.. ne pets for those without cc Thanks for your video!!
Paypal as a payment option, yes!!
Definitely need some way to increase stamina
I agree with all of these!!!
Cosmetics and Pets being Premium is completely fine imo. The game is fully f2p and they gotta make money somehow
I dont think the item exchange will work much due to the fact that the devs didnt add a trade system due to trade scams.
I can understand their hesitancy, as bots are already in the server chat pretending to sell Palia currency.
@@BuckeyeBunny
Yeah, plus trading is mostly how games end up losing players, at least from viewing and personal experience
I agree...the cooking game gets really old.
Yes. #1. Mini Map.
Do really hope can sell the furniture or at least if I want to destroy it, I can get at least 50% or 30% material from it.
By the way we can visit friends house.
I'm waiting for controller support before I start playing
the minimap with a sun roatating around the outer edge of the map.
Yes, this would work!
As to the cats, While I have no issue with some things being "rewards" for supporting our game type thing.
/shrug
As to a player driven market, I seriously doubt that will happen.
