I'm an auld fart from Scotland (60), iv''e got an old Willier, it's alluminium and carbon fibre rear triangle and forks, it is old mechanical 10 speed Campag, it goes like a stabbed rat, went out the other day, pissin rain, freezing, 86 mph wind, got blew off twice, got home soaking, freezing and covered in mud, the joys of a cyclist, I will keep going until my old knees fall off, love your channel man, keep it going. take care.
Great video. You capture the essence of why cycling is so fun. It’s not about being the fastest all the time, or having “aero” bikes. So refreshing that you did not say that word once.
Mmmm, that is one fine looking bike. In a perfect world I'd build one up in "analog" fashion w/ nice mechanical shifting + those fancy Japanese Growtac Equal brakes.
ben absolutely loved this video, glad to see you having so much fun riding your bike and not caring about the latest and greatest stuff the bike industry is creating :p
I have the same frame and a similar setup. I love riding it! It’s a lot of “bang for your buck”. Also, what version of the song “Colors” by Khaim are you using in the “Shooting Attica” footage? 6:35 I can only find it without vocals on my music streaming platforms. Anyway, loved the video and loved the bike!!!
In that colour scheme it looks like €4500,- bike, it looks so nice. I really love the traditional double diamond shape of the frame, never been a fan of lowered seat stays.
@4:07 you can see that your hip is moving quite a lot. you might want to try and lower your saddle by 1-2 cm to be more stable/get rid of any back pain if any.
Trek does build a good bike! I have a Checkpoint SL5 with the 12 gear GRX 2x (11-36 in the back, with 30/46 chain rings). Personally, I absolutely love the 12 gears, since despite the massive climbing abilities of this bike, the gear steps in the upper register are super small. For high speed rides, this is super nice to have, since you can really dial in the candence.
Been catching up on your videos since the rapha ride a couple of weeks ago I was at. Some great content in their Ben. What is it you say at the start of the video?
You should 'break a rule' in each episode. Ankle socks. Sunglasses under the strap. Last years kit. People will go mental in the comments. Good for the algorithm 😊👍
I ALWAYS do sunglasses under the strap because I usually want to remove my helmet before I feel the need to remove my shades, and I absolutely hate knocking my shades off my face when I do so.
My friend is selling me his purple snap color aLR 5 in rim break for 400 quid. Thoughts or should I get a discount break. Price is so much higher though.
Hey hey, could you let us know what wheels/tires are you actually running? I'm considering this frame as well but where I live the bike trail network can get... adventurous. So it'd be interesting to know if this frame can fit larger tires than the advertised 28mm?
Ben, can you tell me the max tire width for the disc version you have\had. The specs say 28, but wondering if that is for the rim brake edition of the Emonda ALR.
In the same boat, 5’8” here and about to pull the trigger on a sl7 Émonda planning size 54. Was confused with you riding a 52 but as you say maybe a bit small but if it works for you, good on you.
as an emonda SL owner, im sad this version didnt come out a year earlier as it would be my choice over the SL. i now have a crockett for gravel/cyclocross and alloy frames really won me over. ill try chinese carbon but not high end expensive western carbon. alloy seems to be nearly as light nowadays and half the price of western carbon
@ Thank you for your answer regarding your height. I am building a bike similar to yours. I don't have the money for a professional bike fitter, so if you can, please tell me what frame size the white Trek bike frame is. Thank you.

Wilier la triestina competizione 00.
Fast, responsive, a little harsh up front but soaks up bumps like it has suspensions on the rear.

Absolutely! Thanks 🙏🏽

Analog do last forever that can be passed on to the next generation.
Well done Ben and Foxy ...That cake looks bloody great
👍🏽

Yeah buddy that’s the point 🙌🏾
its such a good looking bike no doubt about it 🔥🔥🔥
Definitely
Hey Ben 👋
Welcome back to Foxy's channel
😂😂😂😂
Dig your new bike. I'm debating a drivetrain upgrade to electronic shifting....leaning towards 105 DI2....thoughts?
Nice vibes, nice views, nice music. Thx a lot 👍🏻
Thank you 🙏🏽
Great video Ben, nice to get the Coffee & Cake ride feeling again, its something I'm missing already....I'm itching to be back in the saddle. 😁
Hopefully you will be out soon 🙌🏾
Well the bike did you proud in Malaysia, I agree I also like the colour scheme. Great when you can see Roger 🌧coming and ride round him.
Just shows when you know what you need in a bike you know it..
Nice simple video 😊
🙌🏾🙌🏾

Cool color scheme, which one is from Lance's victories?

I totally agree!
Passion for cycling is obvious! I've subbed!
👊🏽👍🏽
Enjoyed the video
Beautiful ride😊
It really is!
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure
Love the Trek! What is Foxy riding?
Keep up the great work mate! Cheers
Thanks! Will do! Foxy is on a titanium Ribble
I love the paint spec too.
Me too

WAGWAN Bread bins
@@benjaminlechappers haha brill, can say it along with ya now 🤟
What is the jacket/top Foxy is wearing?
Looks like the Castelli Perfetto RoS Long Sleeve
It is the Castelli Perfetto RoS.
A very bright one
Be seen be safe.
Keep it up 🔥
Thanks 🔥
Great vid, beautiful place. Sizewise, you seem a bit big for your beautiful Trek bike but if it's a comfortable fit, it's a comfortable fit I guess.
He looks ok. They are quite long bikes for the short torso amongst us. I’m 5’10 and just got a 52cm
@@simmooz3528 Hmmm, interesting. I'm 5, 10 with a short torso and long legs and typically I have a 55/56cm road bike.

40'S Health with a life quality of 100%, i went all comfort just have to wait on it all to arrive . Tribe WE LOVE BIKES
😉🙌🏾
Great bike, but where can we buy one? Looking for stock and retailer and its looking difficult.
Just the frame on its own unfortunately
My friend is selling me his purple snap color aLR 5 in rim break for 400 quid.

Sounds a good price 🙏🏽
Nice video, would be great if you could name drop the cafe's and hills route etc in your videos for local riders or visiting riders
Noted!
Will do…..🙌🏾
@@benjaminlechappers thanks! See you at DR 😁

Yo. 700c with 37mm bontrega. Rims are creative carbon from Australia
Wħat size tires did you put on this biķe?
Ben, can you tell me the max tire width for the disc version you have\had. The specs say 28, but wondering if that is for the rim brake edition of the Emonda ALR.
Probably 32 at push
Shepherds college sounds awesome!
Let’s quit our jobs and go
I was divided by this color, ended up on the safe choice... black. Love the Palmares equally
Cheers 👊🏽
You look good on the ALR, what’s your height and frame size?
It’s a 52 I’m 5’8 it’s probably a bit to small but not by much
@@benjaminlechappers sounds perfect fit. Better slightly smaller
Is that a long sleeve Gabba by Castelli ?
It’s the Perffeto jacket.
They announce only 28 mm tyres on this frame. Its possible to put 32 mm tires?
I have 37
a very nice bike 👌
Thanks ✌️
What size do you ride and whats ur height?🤣 Thinking about the same bike just in the middle between sizes.
Well. I’m 5’9 but this is a 52 I should be riding a 53/54 but rules are made to be broken 😇
I don’t understand how you’re 5’9 and riding this bike without the seat post and handle bar stem being too short! I ask with curiosity
In the same boat, 5’8” here and about to pull the trigger on a sl7 Émonda planning size 54. Was confused with you riding a 52 but as you say maybe a bit small but if it works for you, good on you.
I am 5'10 and ride the 52, it almost identical size to my 54 aethos
Great video Ben I'm 51
Cheers 👋🏾
I'm 62. Cheers all.
The socks halfway up your legs let alone over top of the tights🤦🏼♂️😜
“No rules just ride”

Hey Ben what tyres are you running? I agree comfort is king after running 32mm tyres for a while
Hey, Bontrega 37’s
i wonder what bothy foxy lived in 🤔
So many to pick
Could you please tell me the name of the chinese RAP song?😁
40. You old bastard !! I’m 61. Riding all the time. ❤
😂
I ride the Emonda ALR. It definitely does not feel like a carbon bike, not even close.
But it’s decent enough for a winter.
You’re 40? You should know better then than to wear a short sleeved top in April up North.
Haha
Absolutely love the Chinese rap. You're defo the first I've come across for doing that. Appreciated.
Only a bike nerd would know that’s aluminium
Hi,Benjamin.Hi. I wanted to ask how tall you are and what is the size of your bike Trek alloy frame Palmeras (white-colored frame)
I’m 5’9ft
