💛About us:
Hi! We are Trey and Rosa, we have 5 kiddos and we moved from the big city of Las Vegas to the outskirts to homestead and grow our own food with the goal of self-sufficiency. We converted to eating plant based due to health reasons and we've seen the benefits it has done to our family!
We have a small homestead/desert garden and we are passionate about growing our own food, eating a clean & healthy plant-based diet, cooking food from scratch, and making simple skincare products for our family and for you.
Rosa! You have totally motivated me to use my bread maker for bagel dough! They are so much fun! Especially that boiling part… Though… I think I made a big mistake by putting a little bit of olive oil spray onto the parchment paper for the parchment paper stuck to the bagels and I had to cut off the bottoms!!! Do you think that’s why they stuck? Ugh! The second time I tried them, today, I baked them right onto the baking sheet, with olive oil spray again! and the bottoms came out really crispy and hard! So I had to cut them off again! So is the magic, just parchment paper without any kind of spray on it? I probably defeated the whole point of the parchment!
Hello there friend! That's so cool you're making your own bagels YES!!! It sounds like yes, no need for any oil whatsoever. I'm wondering if you're using the correct parchment or are you using wax or freezer paper? Parchment paper is made for no sticking at all and even if you added the oil or not it shouldn't stick at all! What brand are you using?
Be sure it's actually parchment paper and we boil them and put the boiled bagels directly onto our baking sheet and bake it without any oil. Don't give up, please try it again!
@@thehaipath I got so mad, I threw it out! I was so so mad! Tell me a brand that I could use where I’ll be safe!! Please!
Rosa… I enjoy you creating meals from just what you have a taste for and you make everything so simple!!! Thanks for sharing!!! ❤❤❤

Hey there Amy! Man homemade bagels are too good!! I really need more dump and go bake ideas too! Happy to have you over!
Made my own bagels today. Surprisingly easy and good! Love your show.
Thank you Tisha! Aren’t they so easy?
Hello there catching the replay but as usual, I love your videos. I always learn. Great ideas.
Hello Adriana! Thank you for watching and hanging out with us! So happy to have you over in our humble kitchen 😄
I'm starting to crave bagels! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you!
Then I did my job, you better try making them at home! 🤣
Hi Rosa. Loved the asian rice dish and the potato, bean and tomato recipe. Collecting budget friendly recipes...got to get that budget lower. Asian is my fav. Do you ever make your own pot stickers? Love to make lots and freeze. So glad to see Trey mobile again.
Hi MaryAnn! Thank you so much! Believe it or not Asian dishes are actually quite cheap because we use a lot of simple ingredients also. We have made our own pot stickers before but it's hard to find the correct dumpling wrapper at our local grocery store, I would need to go to an asian market or make it ourselves... hm. I should make some wrappers ourselves!
Thank you for Trey's good wishes, he's doing great! Only thing that sucks now is he's having to go back into work every day :(
@@thehaipath I just use egg roll wrappers and cut off the corners to make then round...LOL. I would also have to go hunting for the "real" wrappers.
Hi Rosa..I do watch every video and like but don't always comment lol
Hi there Amy! Oh that does make sense of course haha! 😆 thank you so very much for always joining us!
My condolences
Thanks? 😆

As my little 4-year-old granddaughter says " that looks yummies"😋😋
YUMMIES! YES!! How many grand kids do you have now?
by the end of November, I will have 14 grandbabies. As you can imagine holidays and birthdays are pretty loud:) But I sure do love having them all there for celebrations.
Oh my gosh that’s so awesome what a lovely large family!!! I can’t wait for the end of the year for you to enjoy all of them babies under one roof!
20 minutes you boil them before baking?
Hi there Arianna! No did I say 20 minutes? My goodness I mean boil bagels for 20 seconds! 😅
@@thehaipath Ok, thank you for clarifying 😂, tomorrow's bagels would have been interesting because I was going to try it your way vs my 40 seconds
