+Lewis's Tech I'd leave a like but it looks like a scam to me :D JK. Good job exposing these scammers! It's very fun to watch, also it made me try using VM in general!
_uNfortunate he didn't seem very smart, and I get the feeling that I really didn't know what a virtual machine was I don't think he was bluffing I kind of think he really didn't even know what it was and that's why you keep saying that the technician was going to call over and over I think he's just somebody who is hired to basically just be the person who greets you at the front door so to speak just the sales representative and he may not even fully understand how the scam works I'm sure he knows that it is not a fully legitimate thing but I don't think he realizes maybe to the extent to which they are ripping people off Because I've heard some of them use the argument, oh well isn't it a rip off for Best Buy to charge you almost $500 isn't that a scam? So I think that some of them Connor have a feeling that they're just also providing an alternate form of help and they may not know that the person who actually goes into the computer and supposedly fixes it is not fixing it, I don't think he's totally in the dark but I just think that there could be a little bit of a gray area Not that it justifies though, and he is aware to a good amount because he hung up right away when he started calling him out and I'm sure he definitely knows that it is dodgy
Call one of them and tell them that your work PC is infected. Set your wallpaper as the FBI logo. Then add some image files of you and your work colleagues busting criminals and spread them across your desktop.
This "tech support" service actually sounded the most legitimate to me so far. There were definitely a few red flags though. You should try to get a legitimate tech support service and a scam one together on the same call like you did in that other video for 2 scam ones.
Why would you waste the time of legitimate tech support business who are just trying to do their job? Two scam call centers is just fine obviously but stepping over into hurting legitimate businesses by calling them and putting them into a scam situation is not legal or ethical.
That's what I thought too. I just felt sorry for him that he had to take this scamming job. The India tech scammers were more entertaining since they truly to sound intelligent. This poor old guy clearly doesn't know what he's doing at all.
If you want to see personal (really pointless) videos go and sub to my other account which I've never used until now. If I get any subs on there I will know that people are interested and want to see some of my personal vlog style videos. th-cam.com/channels/uO9FLEKJ4_Rl9FoeNaBoTw.html
I have watched a doco where Indians who do telemarketing are taught to speak with American accents to sound more convincing. This guy might be one of those.
I can't believe we have scammers like this in the US, I had no idea. I'm sure a lot of Americans will be scammed by this, because they'll assume they can trust the familiar voice on the other end. Great video once again!
The reason why he asked you if you could hear him and if you are using a cellphone to call is so he can record you saying yes so he can have fake proof that you approved stuff
I view the American scammer as an old hippie with the ponytail stuck in India after one of his acid trips and his parents don't want him back because he's an asshole. You can tell he's really out of it because of the space between his words. He probably ditched his wife after having two kids and didn't want to take the responsibility when she was 23 years old. So he left for another country.
Seeing the scammer in the call with this guy is hilarious, because this guy seems to be pretty smart when it comes to computers and scammers. Although hearing the other scammer in the background is kind of sad because someone is probably legitimately believing everything he says.
first of all: this bloke has some strange asmr vibes I snoozed a bit while he was tryna find his way... second: just read in your community that you're not really active anymore, nevertheless thanks a ton for you work back in the days, utterly entertaining and helping to understand the tech behind all of the scams. Cheers mate and best wishes from Germany 👍
Kernel power error is a bad one. Signifies that the computer was shut down improperly, which if there was a real issue, could show a trail. It would show that the computer was possibly crashing.
+Lewis's Tech I want to do these, but I'm scared they might mess up my internet. Is there something you can do to remove the risk, or do you have to take it?
Lewis did you realize a flaw in the title FAKE tech support SCAMMER which means they're a fake scammer which means they are real tech support did you ever realize that lewis?
Just a note, critical events in event viewer especially kernel related ones can give you information if there is something wrong, for example power failure and stuff like that.
Hey man I just started watching recently and really love all the videos and was wanting to start do this stuff myself I was wondering if there was any danger in them getting out of the vm and possibly attacking the real machine
Yep. It's too bad he's working for a scam company. He has the kind of demeanor and basic knowledge that would serve him well in a legit tech support call center.
Lewis, I hope that you tracked the IP address of where this scammer was originating from. In the future to really capture everything that's going on, run WIreshark and capture all of the packet traffic for the police. The FBI needs to crack down on the Tech Support scams that are out there. Thanks for posting another. If I had the time, I'd do this myself to expose them, but just way too busy.

THANK GOD OR WONDERFUL PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT HELP US NOT TO GET SCAMMED!!!!! Love all your videos!!! yea just checked out another one helping to with his own channel called scammers revenge. Please keep up the great work!!!! Before I saw your videos or anybody stopping these scammers I too never even heard of a VM vitural machine. But thank you again!!!!
Here's what I don't get. Why do they spend so much time and effort writing up scripts (I assume they're following some kind of script) and calling people and stuff to scam them? Why not write up scripts on steps to be taken that could ACTUALLY fix stuff and just charge an outrageous amount of money for LEGITIMATE service instead of for scams??
+Trophonix I used to work at a PC repair shop. We had ALOT of slow days. The way these people work is that they spend all day contacting people telling them their is something "wrong" with their computer. 90 % of the people they call do not have a problem with their computer. It's usually the elderly or people who dont know about technology in general that for for these schemes.
***** Well yeah but they could exaggerate and stuff and do pretty much everything they do now except they could run some stuff that actually does help a bit :P
It didn't sound like there was much of a script at all if you listened to what the guy was saying. There was maybe a general procedure and explanation that they do, but that's normal for absolutely any job. That said, to answer your question, scripts save time. If this guy was following a script he could have move through things a heck of a lot faster.
I know he is a scammer, but it's just me I felt bad for him he was really nice and all that. Unlike the Indian scammers that try to lock your files or start being extremely rude.
+Lewis's Tech How are you sure that this guy was a scammer? I am not saying that he isn't, but he didn't just force you to type your details down first before he does something. Unlike the Indian scammer, that try to get your details and then disappear, or try to do you bad.
+Ross Gambino displaying fake issues, saying that a chrome updater is bad and opening event viewer instantly gives it away. Plus if you call that numbers at certain times of the day it directs you to an Indian scammer call centre, so the number is passed around scammers. If I had any doubt that he was a scammer, I would not have posted this video. I would never expose someone who is legit. But this guy is 100% a scammer.
Wow! the like goal of 50 was exceeded in under 40 minutes!! Thanks for the support!
+Schnitz Productions yea watch his past vids

+Lewis's Tech I'd leave a like but it looks like a scam to me :D
JK. Good job exposing these scammers! It's very fun to watch, also it made me try using VM in general!
That guy sounded like text to speech mixed with a person with a southern accent.
How funny it would be if one american in the business would greet you with "hello, my name is [insert indian name here]"
He sounds so depressed. Maybe scamming has got to him. Maybe as you called him he realized how little he contributed to society.
+Forgotten Memes lol I hope i ruined his day at least
lel
_uNfortunate he didn't seem very smart, and I get the feeling that I really didn't know what a virtual machine was I don't think he was bluffing I kind of think he really didn't even know what it was and that's why you keep saying that the technician was going to call over and over I think he's just somebody who is hired to basically just be the person who greets you at the front door so to speak just the sales representative and he may not even fully understand how the scam works I'm sure he knows that it is not a fully legitimate thing but I don't think he realizes maybe to the extent to which they are ripping people off

Just to add. I think he sounds like Microsoft Sam XD
Lol he does
I know this might be kind of weird. but i think it's just an indian tech support talking through voice changer software.
He speaks too slow to be indian
***** Saying something is wrong with having a chrome updater is not legitimate.
Guy on phone confirmed. Go fuck yourself
Call one of them and tell them that your work PC is infected. Set your wallpaper as the FBI logo. Then add some image files of you and your work colleagues busting criminals and spread them across your desktop.
thats a great idea

That's a good idea!!!

I love how at ~9:20 there's literally VMWare Tools in the center of the screen but that apparently doesn't matter.
Whatever makes them money.
fatzcatz heroine addicts aren't very observant
This "tech support" service actually sounded the most legitimate to me so far. There were definitely a few red flags though. You should try to get a legitimate tech support service and a scam one together on the same call like you did in that other video for 2 scam ones.
No, it's best not to waste the time of real tech support people.
Why would you waste the time of legitimate tech support business who are just trying to do their job? Two scam call centers is just fine obviously but stepping over into hurting legitimate businesses by calling them and putting them into a scam situation is not legal or ethical.
4 years late but did not expect to see you here
LOL this guy sounds normal if you put the speed at 1.5 haha
Holy shit you're right.
This guy sounds so grumpy, and no real personality. It almost sounded like he was annoyed that he had to give someone "support."
wtf was the guys stoned? x'D
Haha I see that someone actually admit that xdd
+Brajan i was like wtf xD
That's what I thought too. I just felt sorry for him that he had to take this scamming job. The India tech scammers were more entertaining since they truly to sound intelligent. This poor old guy clearly doesn't know what he's doing at all.

+Lewis's Tech I love your voice and the I'm quiet but much smarter than you attitude with the scammers. Very entertaining!
Brilliant video. People like you deserve more subs for what you do :).

I have watched a doco where Indians who do telemarketing are taught to speak with American accents to sound more convincing. This guy might be one of those.
From the tone of his voice he might be an American outsourced to india with a serious jet lag zzzzz
JayFolipurba LOL
Maybe this guy is just depressed he has such a horrible job.
I imagined the tech scammer being like 300lbs, bald and 65 years old.
Kim Jong-Un glorious leader!
I view the American scammer as an old hippie with the ponytail stuck in India after one of his acid trips and his parents don't want him back because he's an asshole. Loving the dextop background. :P
+WAR X ILUSION Lol thanks :D
Seeing the scammer in the call with this guy is hilarious, because this guy seems to be pretty smart when it comes to computers and scammers. Although hearing the other scammer in the background is kind of sad because someone is probably legitimately believing everything he says.
I love your content! I'm hooked, and it's 2:00 AM.
A scammer that's not Indian? Impossible!
Not to be racist or anything.
PhoenixWing there a nigerian ones too
first of all: this bloke has some strange asmr vibes I snoozed a bit while he was tryna find his way... second: just read in your community that you're not really active anymore, nevertheless thanks a ton for you work back in the days, utterly entertaining and helping to understand the tech behind all of the scams. Cheers mate and best wishes from Germany 👍
lol you can hear other people in the background scamming
This made my day, always love watching your videos dude
+Snack Saloon thanks for the support :D
That wallpaper had me creased. 'Dextop' 😂😂 The obvious VM ware icons. And the ie icons 😂😂
Do you install skype in VM or In your Real Pc
can you do a tutorial how to grab the scammers ip with wirehshark, not familiar with wireshark thanks
Is there any way they can affect your host machine with access to a virtual machine at all?
Kernel power error is a bad one. Signifies that the computer was shut down improperly, which if there was a real issue, could show a trail. It would show that the computer was possibly crashing.
Dude these are great. You should teach me your ways! Haha :) keep up the good work!
+St4tch lol thanks :D
+Lewis's Tech I want to do these, but I'm scared they might mess up my internet. Is there something you can do to remove the risk, or do you have to take it?
+St4tch use a VPN, like hotspotshield or Betternet
+St4tch It isn't really a risk lol, although I use a VPN in this video, I never usually do and not once, ever have i had a scammer do anything.
why don't they just use CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open the task manager
Or right click on the taskbar
So are any of these remote help places real?. My mum used one when she was having problems with her pc.
probably got scammed, unfortunately, if they used tactics like eventvwr and cmd etc
congratz on 8K
+ScammerRevolts thank you :D
np :D
hahaha Netscape Navigator still exists!?
yeah, Firefox is based off of it I think
+Fuk this Sh1t I know that Firefox is around (has been for awhile).
+Charles Baldwin III OK.
oldapps.com
no, it was discontinued.
Question, how do you find so many numbers? Can't find many, some of them just left me on hold infinitely :P Great content though, subbed
This is the best. Please keep doing this. You are doing a great job. I wish I could beat these scumbags at their own game like you can.
Sorry for the stupid question but why does the background go black whenever he shares his screen with the scammer?
lol dude your wallpaper is perfect. the scammer was probably like "man this dude is weird"
+MASTAX1234 Lol that awesome BG made in paint xD
Have you got a link to some toll free numbers?
Background would be mine when I was 6 years old.
Lewis did you realize a flaw in the title FAKE tech support SCAMMER which means they're a fake scammer which means they are real tech support did you ever realize that lewis?
HEy Lewis's Tech He said Soccer. As British Guy you must become angry if someone says SOCCER :P
this guy sounded like a stoner :D
Peter File LOL
could you make a video explaining what you do to set all this up before the call, it would be cool
He seems very friendly.. hm :C
You the man lewis! i gave a like btw :P
+Riothebeast thank you :D
Lewis's Tech No problem man! Btw how do u call these scammers on skype?
Riothebeast yeah i do
Lewis's Tech how though?
get a toll free number, then in skype go to call phones and call them (completely free)
I like watching the American scammers better for some reason lol
Seems like "I'm not a certified level 3 technician" is a fancy way to say "I'm following a scam script and have no clue what else to do".
The guy's pause after you told him the full name was priceless hahah
Do you ever get any emails from them? If so, maybe you can track their IPs via the email headers. Thoughts?
pink sheep is working there?
Yes sadly, this is how he makes all the moneyz.
Calbel also works at a tech support scammer company but the one he works at is at Germany.
taskmgr man, taskmgr.
Just a note, critical events in event viewer especially kernel related ones can give you information if there is something wrong, for example power failure and stuff like that.
Yes but they don't show viruses or hacks or any if that
Goofygiggles That is right.
No only netstat can show hackers.
+Henex and the tree command
i opened event viewer on my pc and there were very few errors i wonder what the scammers would say about that
Probably the same stuff unless one of them would get creative and would say it's the amount of hackers who stole data or something.
It would be funny if you used darkcomet to hide the icons and had the background as the icons and let them spam it for 40 minutes trying to open it.
+MultiKillsHD Lol i don't know why i haven't done that yet xD
+Lewis's Tech Just make sure you pull a wizard and open it but they can't.
+MultiKillsHD Wow good idea
+MultiKillsHD you sir are a genius, and @Lewis Tech you my friend are the best
Loving the videos man keep it up 👍🏿
+Krazy Ken :D
Hey man I just started watching recently and really love all the videos and was wanting to start do this stuff myself I was wondering if there was any danger in them getting out of the vm and possibly attacking the real machine
I appreciate you busting these fake tech support scammers
+Spooky Scrub I love doing it!
What exactly is Netscape navigator? Is it like an old old browser?
It was the browser by Netscape that got Microsoft in a lot of trouble for bundling IE in Windows.
Firefox is based on netscape code
what do you type in to find these popups ;;
Hearing him say "Peter File" 4 times and not getting it was gold.
Why does the background turn black when the scammer connects?
How do you find these phone numbers. I seem to have a lot of trouble finding phone numbers to call. Is there like a list or something that you have?
All right I will have to try that thanks!
Love the videos! Keep exposing the scammers
Probably the smartest scammer so far. Not that smart, but smarter. Sounded like he actually had some basic knowledge
Yep. It's too bad he's working for a scam company. He has the kind of demeanor and basic knowledge that would serve him well in a legit tech support call center.
Great Video Lewis! lol you got a once and a lifetime opportunity an american scammer lol
+Stop Phone Scammers lol it took some time to find!
+Lewis's Tech yeah I bet lol
Lewis, I hope that you tracked the IP address of where this scammer was originating from. was he scammed by a scammer?
I was hoping to find out more about this operation. Was he just an American in India and they hired him because of his accent or is this an operation somewhere in America?
Hahaha You are a God send.... My Uncle and Grandmother recently got scammed like this and now their laptops are worse off not sure what they did I wasn't there and I no way as skilled as you are any recommendations on how to reverse anything they have done?
Having a computer "serviced" or given a "tune up" must be similar to adding blinker fluid to a car.
What do you use for protection ?
+Beer Myster Avast
durex
+hellboy's films hehe
Ill give them both a try. dont want to catch a virus :)
What cracking Banter! Member of "Tech Support" doesn't know what a VM is... This is the reason to why we need some sort of education system....
I love that wallpaper :D
+Robin Essmann :D
Robin Essmann God tier!
is he using voice changer ?
no I have worked with him. that's his voice he sounds drunk
+fit4ever no thats his actual voice lmfao
+cody daniels oh hey cody
so the scammer knows how to get to tasklist through cmd.exe, which wasn't even elevated, but he didn't know how to open task manager through run or the shortcut key...
Woah, an American scammer for once! That's something you don't see every day.
He was not a scammer.
Lol he was blabbing so much about google update in the service screen that he never noticed the VMware running?
Love your videos, can you explain how I can support you at no cost with the Amazon link? I make sure to like all the videos I watch
Why does he use that method to get you to open a web page?
Nick Lloyd Incase your browser is locked up because of the pop-up, or its infected
He sounds like the principle from Billy Madison
Or you know. Any person who sounds like they were slowed down in Audacity.
maybe he's just strung out on prescription painkillers or something

Aw geeeeez even the American scammers try that "Teehee I totally knew you were baiting me!" line.
I actually laughed out loud every time he said, "Peter File."
