Scammers in India are paid by Microsoft to do this kind of stuff to sell their services to restore your computer or sell you a new one. It's the same idea as the English and their pirates to stir up the Spanish navy. Genius, but wrong.

What motivation would these scammed have for taking your money and then basically destroying your computer? It is the same idea as pillaging ships; the scammed gets the loot, and Microsoft gets to sell more computers.
It doesn't remove normal viruses. A tree scan will get into the root of your system and detects basically all wiruses on a myriad of dexTup systems but only if a certified techneeechan runs a tree scan. Wiruses are basically the cockroach of the virus world.. A wirus can really do some damage, and like the cockroach it's very hard to get rid of. These specialty support centres have used over a decade of research, and have arrived at the conclusion a tree scan will remove the wirus. It's the poison to the cockroach.

That's fine but my problem is, why don't they get into actual tech support? They could easily register an ACTUAL business, that provides REAL remote assistance instead of scamming people! There are companies that legitimately do this and actually fix your system, and get paid pretty well to do so. I've personally remotely accessed some of my customers' machines to repair silly filesystem errors or even update drivers for less savvy customers. Some of these scammers have the right customer service mindset, but at the end of the day they are actively scamming unsuspecting people out of money. It's not right they play that card it's tough to get a job.. It's tough all over the world. Get the certification and skill sets (MS offers certifications online that you can add to your resume qualifications if you can't get into College) and they could use that to find legit tech work. This way they would make a living and the 'customers' would actually receive a genuine service. Cheers
