Imma be honest, I got more than halfway thru the video before realizing the first guitar was the Harley Benton. I thought the second one was. That's how close they are. Can't wait for mine to arrive 🤘🏻
I got the Harley Benton EX-76 Classic AN recently. I never thought I'd get and enjoy a Harley Benton, but it can easily compete with $1000 range instruments. I don't have anything more expensive so I can't compare. (In my case it needed finishing touches and I swapped out the pickups, but for the price it's cool. And I'm left with a guitar i wouldn't want to leave to get a more expensive counterpart)
@Bio Hazard personal opinion, prs and esp have really nice high end guitars, yes they are expensive but they are freakin amazing. Gibson also have nice guitars but I wouldn’t pay 8-10k for something that I could buy with 3-5k, it’s the brand, the name the heritage I get it but still…this Harley Benton though it’s good for a daily driver, f around, practice, don’t care about ruining it and so on. Depend on your budget but with a bit of luck, also depends where you’re located you could get an esp eclipse for 1k and those are really nice instruments, besides the James hetfield signature models, eclipse models are my favorite guitars, not that chunky and heavy as a les Paul but god damn they are light and resonant and the quality control is there no matter what.
Ooo I want one of these in my HB collection. The Gibson sounded more of everything but I really liked the Rosvell pickups to. Thanks for this review, really appreciated it. It confirms again that HB is great value for the money. Im after this model and the Fusion III HsH st model with roasted maple neck I think it is. Greetings from 🇸🇪
Love Harley Benton, and I must say: Gibson gets 0 credit for sounding a (little) crisper whilst being $1500-$2000 more. Gibson should be ashamed. Harley Benton EX84 it is.
En mi opinión y experiencia muchas guitarras pueden sonar similares ...pero al tacto y en cuanto se te desccalibran y volver a calibralas la diferencias de buena madera y construcción se nota..y ahi el precio muchas veces se explica..buen video.
When it's price for value the hb clearly blows the gibson out of the water. Granted the hb has some tonal weakness compared to the gibson but not $1000 difference. And to drop a good set of pups and pots in would still be less expensive than the gibson with better tone.
Ne mogu da verujem da mi je upravo iskočio video od lika od kog sam bas tu gitaru kupio hahaha. Gitara stvarno radi savrseno od kako je kod mene, skoro vec godinu dana
Well since the price difference is 1000+ euros, I went with the hb option. And trust me, it kicks ass, it is a great guitar for the price point. But you can always swap the pups if you want.
I recently got one of these harleys bentons and it's sounds and feels great to play. The neck is a little chunky but that great for someone like me. I'm more of a rythm player. One question I have though. Is the body on the gibson bigger than the harley benton. It's hard to tell from pictures and with the harley benton on me it looks really small. I am a bigger guy to begin with but I can't imagine it would be that small. From pictures online with some popular players using explorers the body looks really big or maybe the players are just really small.
i wanna get the harley but it just seems so small compared to a normal explorer... i can't find any size comparisons. this video is the closest size comparison as I can get. Can you confirm for me that the harley is smaller than a normal explorer?
Huh, weird, I actually liked the HB neck pickup quite a bit more than the Gibson. The bridge goes to the Gibson hands down though. The HB middle position was rather nice too but I recon the Gibson neck pickup let it down there. I suspect the Gibson neck pickup needs to be raised a bit, it sounds a little thin.
The neck on this Harley Benton feels like gold...a tad bit chunky and fits in my palm. I thought of changing out the pickups but decided against it due to the sweet vintage tones they emit. The action is nice and low with no buzzing and the hardware is solid. I also own a Gibson Explorer with it's original burstbucker pickups that are awesome. HONESTLY, pound for pound the HB wins (except for the brand name).
HB is a great guitar , that's my first guitar and am very happy to buy it.I'l buy HB ex84 progressive with active pickups.Very-Very nice quality and sound ,hb use similar wood materials as Gibson ,but costs 190$ vs 1400$
the frets are decent on hb but they are not polished worth shit very scratchy but if u spend a few hrs on them they turn out nice i use a dremal with little polish wheels
Is the Harley Benton smaller in body size than the Gibson? I've wanted an EX style guitar for years but never had the money to buy one of the Epiphones or Gibsons, and Harley Benton is a reputable, affordable brand.
I would expect the Gibson to sound good, it has Seymours. Roswells aren't even close to sounding as good as Seymours. I can't stand Roswell pups, way to muddy and not enough output, all my HB's get new pups. If I do get an HB Explorer, I'll get the plus EMG version..
Yeah, I have to agree, but I would say that it is the only weakness of this guitar. Locking Grover tuners are killers, frets are in better condition than on my mexican strat, and the wood grain is fucking beautiful. Idk, for 240 euros (I got it second-hand) it is a no-brainer.
@@justjames95 Hey i hear ya.. I have 15 guitars right now (I've downsized) and i have a Ibanez Prestige, a Ibanez Jiva 10, A jem, a Jackson soloist, a Fender Strat, a LP Custom still in my collection.. and yet my HB 550 plus EMG gets the most attention.. I play it all the time.. It's amazing. The Harley Bentons lately have really up'ed their game.
Le modèle Harley Benton est au niveau de son prix et peut devenir une bonne deuxième guitare à traîner un peu partout. Le modèle Gibson est définitivement un plaisir auditif et bien loin devant ses concurrentes low-cost 🎶
For like half the video, I thought the guitars were the other way round...I actually enjoyed more the tone of the Harley Benton...money doesn't always make a difference, in this case in fact it fails miserably...price difference is ridiculous to say the least
The HB pickups are really focused on the midrange and not bright at all. It's a bit scary because they claim they are alnico 5. Much brighter sound on the Gibson.
