Just placed my order, still waiting for it to arrive. Found a B-stock bargain for 127€. I've been playing for over 30 years, and Harley Benton never stops amazing me. I mean, the stuff we had in the 80's ... I started with a Williams mail order Strat, that was really a total piece of crap. And still, in those days it cost twice as much as these HB:s today. Beginners these days are very lucky to have Harley Benton around. I've done some fretwork to them, some setup but basically they are excellent, very playable guitars for the money. And that is the most important thing ... the overall construction and quality is spot on. And the hardware is at least decent, you can live with it. But some finish work or upgrading hardware is easy, and these are also great starting points to learn those things. Not too expensive if you ruin something, but always worth the job.
I do recognize the last riff won't give it away. Thank you for the review. I'm just looking for an intro level then will reward with a better option as i improve.
To be honest, pups don't sound bad at all. These pups will work just fine for classic rock, hard rock, and heavy metal. if you want to tweak the sound, utilize your pedals and amp and get the best out of it. and for any Harley Benton, you have to reset the factory settings.
Even with the faults the quality control is probably still better than Gibsons. It's normally a given that these guitars will need a proper set up and some new pups and machine heads. Personally, I would rather spend the extra money to buy a Japanese or Korean made guitar.
Thanks for an honest review! Bad tuning pegs can really ruin a good playing experience, especially for beginners. For the money you pay for the tuning pegs and pickups, I'd just look for a better brand.
When it comes to tuners, I've always done the same I do when I buy car parts, like steering knuckles or ball joints - I take them apart, clean them and lubricate them myself. That alone can make a huge difference. Harley Bentons are definitely well made, so you have an excellent starting point to upgrade. For instance, I once had a Harley Benton ES style hollow body, which was actually exactly the same guitar as Epiphone The Dot. From the sama factory, from the same line, with the same hardware. Just less than half the price. With Harley Benton, like any cheap brand, you have to use your brain a bit. If you buy that b/w bolt on Strat for less than 100€, it's pretty much the same stuff on every brand. But if you buy something a little more special, there's just no point doing those models badly. I once had a Harley Benton P90 Gold Top Les Paul, and when I sold it, the person who bought it told me that he was first a little concerned when he came to test it. But then he was amazed ... He had owned a similar Gibson, and wanted a similar one just for the memories. He could't believe, that the HB P90:s actually sounded just like they should, and that the guitar was actually better than the Gibson he had :D
Listen. I've been playing a cheap harley benton for 2 years now (not this one of the video, it's actually another one that is a PRS copy). And I'm still using the stock tuning pegs. They are a little "stiff" but they definitely hold tuning. I don't plan on replacing them actually, they work well.
Tuning problems are not because of the pegs, it's because of the nut, also pickups won't change your tone, invest the money on cabinets and speakers instead
@@nothing-else-m23if i were to buy one of it the major upgrade would be for a new NECK pickup that can be splitted into single coil with a push pull pot [essential upgrade in pair with the new pickup]. Maybe a ToneRider or a Wilkinson, best with a chrome cover [and a chrome mounting ring] and then the job is done!

Being as cheap as they are, of course its gotta be worth it! Even if you replace what you find offensive!

Considering the guitars 140 bucks and a good set of locking tuners are 50 bucks you can have a good set up for under 200
