Almost every Saturday I would go with my dad and brother to my uncle's farm, listening to songs like these. I really miss those days, but my uncle sold the farm house and my dad had health problems now. So all I can do is remember those times.
I was the same way with xmas at grandma's and other holiday gatherings. We would all get together for a week or more. but relatives moved away or passed away and gatherings got shorter too. I spent years wishing for it to be like it used to be but that was not going to happen then i got a family of my own (wife and kids) and I realized I could make the family gatherings for my children like my parents did for me and I no longer miss how things used to be it's about making the memories for the next generation now.
I would listen to songs like this with my Grandpa but unfortunately he died due to ALS. I think of him when I listen to this song. 😞

Actually there’s a rumor in my family that’s my grandma’s song and the rights to it were stolen🤷♀️And she also held the top yodeling contest in the New England area! AND SHE PLAYED THE GUITAR!!!🎸.

That’s awesome! My mother sang with bands in the 1950s. When she would sing, people called her “Kitty Wells”. My mother always had a beautiful singing voice. She went to Heaven in 2004, at the age of 71. I miss her so much!

This must be from the 50's back when pretty Miss Kitty Wells recorded this. She was quite a phenomenon back then it seems. This is my favorite of all of her songs. A newly mastered version of this sounds wonderful altho I'm not sure if that's what it is or if she recorded it in her "Greatest Songs" Album. A number of years ago there was a lady who regularly sang at a country music show near here who did all of Kitty's songs. A great voice and was a favorite. Thank you. - Paula
