Her life story is so sad. Miki was diagnosed with uterine cervic cancer, which she kept a secret for a long time from people and carried on with her music career. she battled cancer for 3 years. 2 months before her death, miki wished nobody would listen to her music and said she had regretted her music career as a whole, because she spent her life being too focused on making music and didn't live her life fully enough. miki spent the last 2 months of her life with her family, and later passed away at the age of 44. she told her husband that she wished she could restart her life again and live it more fully. Crazy how 30-40 years later she would be an international hit sensation. Everyone knows this track and how beautiful her voice is. If you look people are trying to find out more about her but unfortunately there isn’t much info. There was even something about how she regretted this career path after she was diagnosed with cancer. She said something along the lines that there was many things she wanted to do and see but she was just so fixated in making her music perfect.

By any chance you have a source saying she regretted this path. All I found that this song was a huge hit ( including other songs by her) In 2000 she made a phone call to her record company that she can’t play music anymore due to illness which was apparently her communication than everything went dark. Couple of years later they found out she died from uterine cervix cancer. That’s what I found. Not much is known about her or what said during the last couple years of her life battling cancer. I heard this song on Instagram. I was jamming to the sound. I enjoy Japanese culture so I did some research on the artist. I didn't realize the tragedy behind the music. She was only 44 years old when she passed. Life is a fragile experience. Art came be a powerful tool of expression. I respect Miki's message about cherishing life and the people you love. I never felt so attached to a song and it's artist like this one. It's just sad that I discovered it way past when it was first release and Miki Matsubara was still with us (tho I was born in 1999 but you get the point) , but still I'm happy that I stumbled upon this masterpiece. For MIKI's debut concert,I also performed as a member of "Parachute". After that, Miki and I wrote several GUNDAM theme songs together. She passed away in 2004, she is really missed. By far the best song I've ever heard even if it has foreign language, truly amazing. From the melody, song writing, her confidence in singing its truly amazing. She is a 1 in a trillion singer. Miki sintió que era injusto que no pudiera recuperarse de su enfermedad. Sintió que no había podido vivir su vida, ya que pasó su vida demasiado enfocada en hacer música. Miki culpó de su enfermedad a su carrera musical.

Her life story is so sad. Miki was diagnosed with uterine cervic cancer, which she kept a secret for a long time from people and carried on with her music career. she battled cancer for 3 years. 2 months before her death, miki wished nobody would listen to her music and said she had regretted her music career as a whole, because she spent her life being too focused on making music and didn't live her life fully enough. miki spent the last 2 months of her life with her family, and later passed away at the age of 44. she told her husband that she wished she could restart her life again and live it more fully. Rest in peace miki, your song is loved and appreciated by many 😭♥

Crazy how 30-40 years later she would be an international hit sensation. Everyone knows this track and how beautiful her voice is. If you look people are trying to find out more about her but unfortunately there isn’t much info. There was even something about how she regretted this career path after she was diagnosed with cancer. She said something along the lines that there was many things she wanted to do and see but she was just so fixated in making her music perfect.
Yeah, if she was still alive I would be the happiest person because she would finally see that her song was perfect, she shouldn't have any regrets, cause she made a song that will still be in people's heart for a really long time.

By any chance you have a source saying she regretted this path. All I found that this song was a huge hit ( including other songs by her)
In 2000 she made a phone call to her record company that she can’t play music anymore due to illness which was apparently her communication than everything went dark. Couple of years later they found out she died from uterine cervix cancer. That’s what I found. Not much is known about her or what said during the last couple years of her life battling cancer.

「真夜中のドア」リリース時は高校に入ったばかりだった。ちょっとジャジーで小洒落た曲を愛嬌のある綺麗なお姉さんが歌っていると感じた記憶がある。
数年後、男性雑誌ＧＯＲＯで彼女がビキニ姿を披露しているのを見てシンガーも大変なんだなと思った。
残念ながら当時は誰もが知ってる曲ではなかったけど大学生以降は車の中やウォークマンで聴いていた。
リリースから４５年経った還暦の今もふと聴きたくなる名曲。

I heard this song on Instagram. I was jamming to the sound. I enjoy Japanese culture so I did some research on the artist. I didn't realize the tragedy behind the music. She was only 44 years old when she passed. Life is a fragile experience. Art came be a powerful tool of expression. I respect Miki's message about cherishing life and the people you love. It has been some interesting human beings who once lived on this earth. I wish she was still here. RIP Miki, your message will "stay with me" as I go on living ❤🕊🕯
I never felt so attached to a song and it's artist like this one. It's just sad that I discovered it way past when it was first release and Miki Matsubara was still with us (tho I was born in 1999 but you get the point) , but still I'm happy that I stumbled upon this masterpiece.
