    If only the Avalon wasn´t made out of unobtanium, I´d buy one yesterday. Sigh.

    Avalon sounds like acid, it has that springy, squelchy sound, very dynamic goes up and down, the bass notes with the cutoff almost closed and resonance open sound capital phatt and it can really scream. Even if it goes beyond a 303, to me they did an awesome job with the synth judging from this demo. Great work on the test patterns and demo!

      Hi, thanks for your comments. You really do have better ears than me. And... please don’t tell anyone, but only factory pattern from the TD-3 were used. :-)

      @@friendlynoise It's mostly just a matter of knowing what to listen, what to look for, been a fan of acid since the early 90's so it's second nature. The Avalon processed must sound really amazing. Those were some quite good patterns.

      I've checked a few of these comparison videos because youtube recommends them to me and the TD3 really has a strong particular sound, I doubt it can be hidden with processing and "in the mix". People should stop expecting miracles at €150. At least it opened the doors to the TD6, sounds like a mix of Dr110 and 606 but it's been months now and still nothing.

      Farben I was very young in the 90s and it was impossible not to fall in love with acid music. 😃 But because I do some extreme sound mangling (please check out my video with the TD-3 through the Interstellar Radio eurorack module) the original sound ist only the starting point. With this kind of processing, it simply doesn’t matter anymore if the sawtooth wave is coming from this or that synth... I went for the Avalon for its quality and complexity. And I got the TD-3 for its simplicity and the nostalgic factor.

    The Avalon has a few extra knobs for modulation, you can take a simple sequence to many different places compared with 303 clones. That's what I particularly love about it, that and the gorgeous sound.

    in my opinion, the Avalon is a fantastic machine made with love and so far i can hear very powerful in Sound and even further the Sequenzer options. It"s more beyond a 303. The TD 3 is a cheap but very very close Clone to the 303.Remember, somtimes no 303 sounds like an other 303. Maybe its a little bit of psycho. When you like to own a real 303 you havte to buy one. No Clone can give you the feel of an original! I"m using 3 of the Behringers TD"s one is a MO and i love it so it is! Peace& long Hair 🖖

      I guess you get what you paid for. Considering price and availability of the Avalon, I think the TD-3 is a nice piece of gear.

      @@friendlynoise of course...and unfortunately I doubt i will have the money for the Abstrakt.

      @@kicksNCY Behringer is said to come out with an expanded/modded version of the TD-3. That would be a hit for sure! It will give people the possibility to have some of the Avalon features for still a reasonable price. Looking forward to it. 😀

    Td3 sounds more authentic ..but the Avalon is a rip off....the td3 costs less than 100 quid....Think the Avalon will fail big

    • @newgreyarea
      @newgreyarea 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      😂🤣😂. Fail big? Go try to buy one then. Impossible unless second hand and the prices are insane. I could sell mine for 3 times what I grabbed it for... which I'm actually considering but just can't bring myself to do it. It's the ultimate version of a 303. Anything beyond this would be considered an entirely different synth most likely. I have both of these and I don't think the TD-3 actually sounds good doing bass. It's better at the upper register stuff, imo.

    • @broederharry2534
      @broederharry2534 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're only saying that because you are trying to sell yours. Nobody is going to buy it overpriced now that the TD-3 is so cheap. It's even a better sounding clone than the Avalon.

    • @MAD_CHILLER
      @MAD_CHILLER 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wrong... Avalon’s sold out and the next batch is due in October... I’m certain that batch will sell out as well... You really should hear these in person and actually touch/feel the build quality... The Avalon is a tank... I will never sell mine... it can do a 303 but goes well beyond and has CV integration for use with modular... The Avalon is a true instrument not some piece of crap plastic clone...

    • @broederharry2534
      @broederharry2534 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah sure, the 303 was a piece of plastic crap. They probably won't sell out. Avalon prices are going to drop now that we can buy a real clone for a realistic price.

    • @MAD_CHILLER
      @MAD_CHILLER 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’d put money that the new batch sells out... I’m the Admin of the Avalon User group and I’ve seen how many folks have wanted on for years... $995 price hasn’t changed... when they sell out the price will go back to over inflated TB303 prices .... ;)
