I’ve always trusted Mini gt, I don’t think there’s a lot of brands that can match mini gt’s detail to price ratio. Most mini gt’s are only $15… that’s just a steal imo.
I just don’t get why the minichamps is so expensive. The wing is the only upgrade. The wheels are horrible, especially with how amazing the mini gt wheels are. It doesn’t look like it’s anywhere near the quality of other brands in that price tier like Inno64, LCD or tomica limited vintage either and those are even $5-$10 less expensive usually.
You must look closely. The interior on Minichamps more detailed, dashboard more detailed. Rear light more accurate very fine detail whereas Mini GT has much bulkier rear light. Metal spoilers does not come cheap. If you are into 1/64 custom, you would know even if you buy in bulk they are pretty expensive. Don't forget Minichamps comes in a acrylic base and cover. so I think it is justified. The wheel rims..yeah its really too bad. I would custom and try to wheelswap it with Mini GT wheels

And I'm also planning on getting the minichamps weissach package variants that have carbon fiber. I think this white/red one is kind of the odd one out of the bunch that just didn't translate well. If the wheels were anodized I think it would be nearly perfect
@valconir1619 I agree with you. There are a lot of little details that go into the Minichamps that are lacking on the Mini GT. But at the same time the wheels are really hard to look past. I think thats my only main problem with the Minichamps. But all the other colors seem much better
Nice comparison. I totally agree with you : "One casting necessarily is not better than the other. It´s just like a little details...". I prefer the crisp tone of the wheels on MIN GT and also the white color of the casting against the cream tone on the Minichamps. But also the splitted wing on Minichamps as well as the details in the wing supports are truly nice. And the end collectors can choose between many brands and it´s good in my opinion

@whopey999 The minichamps right? These 911 GT3 RS models usually go for about $30 plus shipping, but you can find small deals for around $25. That's how much I paid for this one
@whopey999 yesh I have a good friend in the UK and he said that those minichamps go from £35-40, crazy! Mini GT is pretty expensive from what I hear as well
just my personal opinion, if a diecast doesn't roll it fails to achieve the first single most important details its trying to replicate of the original The excuse of having non-rolling wheels to maintain the ride height accuracy is too lame, and both from engeneering perspective and artistic perspective it completely fails to make that premium and proper impression
@Ryknex I completely respect your take on that! For me, it doesn't really matter either way, especially on the models that come in the acrylic cases as I usually only take them out for videos akd photos. But then the models that come out more frequently like Mini GT, BBR, Pop Race, etc; it's nice that those roll. I also look at other scales when the rolling thing comes into play, (and I know larger scales are usually resin), but most 1/43 and 1/18 scale models don't roll either, which I feel is perfectly fine

I have 2 minichamps and 1 mini gt. The minichamps are better overall, the only point for mini gt are the wheels.
