    Depends on what you are looking for. It’s your looking for a hyper realistic car then mini GT is the way to go. If you are looking for a fun casting of a car with a cool modified colour pick hot wheels

      Thanks for the comment, yeah totally agree with you. For realism MiniGT tends to be a winner but for fun and cool colours and designs Hot Wheels are the way to go.
      I would still like to see more side mirrors on Hot Wheels Premium castings.

      The C8R is a great casting. I’ve got two Z06s one red and one yellow the detail is awesome. It’s another level of collecting when you collect for detail rather than just the car.

    Great comparison! I think for many of us this hobby has evolved to the point that high quality true to scale is important and the Mattel stuff tends to be a little lacking in that area, although they have a cool factor that is hard to duplicate.

    • @Premium-Die-Cast
      @Premium-Die-Cast  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! Agree 100% with you. When you’re not throwing them down a track, they need to be more real-to-life. Plus the brands that are true to scale still have excellent playability albeit you’re playing with them in a calmer manner.

    I've been collecting some of the Hot Wheels stuff, but I recently discovered Mini GT and have been blown away... I'm a big fan of GT3 racing also, and they have a lot of reproductions of those cars and the Kaido House stuff is really great too... It get's expensive though. Every time I buy one I have to get 2. One to display, and one to hold on to to stay collectable.

      Great insight - didn’t think of it that way. It makes perfect sense the 2017 Hot Wheels mainline that this premium is based off was a concept when it came out because the first Urus production release was a 2018 year model. And MiniGTs first Urus wasn’t cast until 2020.

  • @drgruber57

    It's obvious the difference. For the money, the Hot Wheels is pretty nice! Nicer than a $1.18 mainline, of course. The Real Rider rubber tires
    ("rubbuh", as you say. 😉) are so nice and help give it a smoother, quieter ride, even though they do slow it down a bit. But if you're willing to spend the money, the Mini GT is far and above the better casting. One thing you didn't mention in particular, but I'm sure you noticed, is the accuracy of the size and shape of the windows. The MINI GT are larger and I think much more realistic. The HW's windows were, of course, much smaller in height and just didn't look right. Thanks for the video. Maybe find a way to lock your camera's focus at one point, then be careful to keep the car at the perfect distance so as to focus on the emblem, or whatever detail you are "focusing" on. Thanks!

    • @Premium-Die-Cast
      @Premium-Die-Cast  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great point regarding the windows! I suppose as soon as the scale is off on one thing, then there is no way they are going to be able to get the windows right. I’ve very few hot wheels that are true to 1:64 scale - my guess is that’s why Mattel castings don’t actually mention the scale until you get to Elite 64.
      Thanks for the tip regarding the camera definitely something I’m working on to improve the quality of my videos.

  • @Emtbtoday
    @Emtbtoday 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I thought by now 2024 they would have done an open cast for the lights like the window's it's not hard nor costs more, what they would save in casting could be used for clear light's! I do some myself dremel the casting opens and design buckets and lenses in cad and 3D print in clear it make heck of a different on a 64th!

    • @Premium-Die-Cast
      @Premium-Die-Cast  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it’s true the cost of doing a custom is most of the time less than the sticker price of a premium Hot Wheels and because the Hot Wheels Premium use the same castings as the mainline (another way the try to fleece us) you able to get an even better model when you customise it yourself - plus it’s a fun hobby too.

  • @99Vood99
    @99Vood99 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This was a nice review and I think you need to add another category for price. The issue right now is that Hot Wheels are a fad item so depending on your region it's impossible to find anything desirable on shelves and you end up having to pay a 'premium' (no pun intended) to a reseller.
    The HW Premium Urus is 'acceptable' at $7.99 but is absolutely NOT worth it at a resale price vs. the Mini GT which completely overshadows it in every possible way. I also completely agree with you that lack of side mirrors on the HW Premium models is a complete joke.

    • @Premium-Die-Cast
      @Premium-Die-Cast  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the feedback and great point you make on the price category. Will need to have a think on how it can be included for a future video, I left it out because there is so much variation in pricing depending where you live. For me a HW Premium in a toy shop can set you back somewhere between USD 17-20 and then you’ve got to contend with reseller markup on top of that for the desirable models as you say. Making Mini GT a great value option. But yeah great point and I’ll work out a way to represent it in the next one.

      True mini gts are much more scarce which I think makes them a bit more special, particularly because their production runs are somewhere between 3.5 to 6 thousand per casting, so there aren’t loads of them going around to start with.
