USA eggs are washed and treated before they are sold so they need to be stored in the fridge. We don’t do that here, and most countries don’t either. So they don’t require to be refrigerated.

You need to refrigerate your eggs in North America due to the chemicals used in the production process. We Brits don't use those chemicals, therefore it's fine to store eggs at room temperature.
