The comments about taking Eurostar... you do realize she'd have to plan ahead by a lot right? Look up a train from London to Paris for Monday-Friday y'all. It's almost $300. A flight is $100ish. The fault is not planning ahead but this seemed last minute. When I planned my trip to Europe, I booked Eurostar tix like 3 months in advance to get an actual good deal.

Why would you take a flight when you have the Eurostar in London that goes to Paris in 2h something ?
it’s sad to say but the plane was probably cheaper by like multiple hundred euros/pounds, at least if she flew with a budget airline
Flights are most often much much cheaper
Except the train fares to those airports etc are often as much as any airfare saved over a Eurostar bought 3 days before fare!
Not really tho, especially if you have a railcard or don’t mind the extra 40 min on a coach
