YESSSSS, thank you for posting this, I cant believe someone else remebered this song. Growing up outside Rochester,NY, I was able to pick up Q107FM from Toronto, this was in heavy rotation back in the summer of '87. Havent heard it since until today. Long Live Canadian Rock!!!
FYI - Frozen Ghost is the debut album of the band Frozen Ghost, released in 1987. Its first single, "Should I See" (a song about censorship) made it to #69 on the Billboard Hot 100. The run-out groove of side two on the LP contains unintelligible speech. When played backwards, a voice says, "You are ruining your needle!"
This is an excellent song. One of those I'd heard on the radio, but had no idea what it was. It bugged me for months, but stumbled on this by chance and it is great.
I don't know what came over me, I had 2 of there CD's back in the day lost them. Then for some reason today they just came back to me. What great memories!
I LOVE THIS SONG!Im so glad I found it on here. Thanks for posting.Started playing on the radio at the same time Tipper Gore & friends started the PMRC in the U.S.(the Parental Advisory sticker on your CD's 1984-86-ish)I taped the song off the radio back then, but wasn't for sure who actually sang it til about 1yr1/2 ago.Bought the CD on eBay when I figured out who it was. Cheers to such a great song.Dont let the Government Censor.Censorshit is bullshit. If you dont like it,dont listen to it. :)
Essentially a duo when Frozen Ghost started out, ex SHERIFF members Lanni and Hassel, for their last album "Shake Your Spirit" enlisted the help of Phil X (Harleguin, Triumph) and John Bouvette (Ian Crichton solo). Lanni also became a fine producer, producing albums by Canadian bands like Simple Plan, and Our Lady Peace. Also US rockers Kings X. Poppy aor with a Canadian twist.
This is a very powerful song! Not only are the lyrics about censorship brilliant, from Kingdoms to Corporations, but the music is passionate and resonates the soul. Thank you for posting this. I had not heard this in over at least 20 years. I used to have this on cassette when it came out, but someone ripped it off. Son of bitch, haha...
@ROBERTVANJOVI ...Thanks. I always thought that there was a connection with Sheriff and Frozen Ghost. Saw Sheriff at a pub/strip bar in Scarborough back in 85' or so...
I had the first 2, I must have missed the third record :-)I was on the road playing full time at that point. As for VH, I enjoyed Van Hagar much more then the Diamond Dave years. Balance was a great record, I really don't think they have much left to offer. All guitar players think it's easy to play bass and anyone can do it, I guess they figure it's only 4 strings, how hard can it be?
tteh lp record for this had a backwards message at the end of side two i spun the album backwards and it said "your ruining your needle" good stuff... anyway i wrote arnold lanni and told him it ruined the bands on my belt drive ...he wrote me back and said sorry lol anyhow he now produces forartists like our lady peace and finger 11

I never heard this song anywhere other than MTV. Definitely an underrated song and still timely today. Long live Canadian power pop!
Great song!
This particular song always reminded me of The Fixx, as the vocals are very Cy Curnin-esque.
What a freaking amazing song! One of the greatest saxophone solos of all-time! I was born in the wrong decade, why couldn't I have lived in the '80s?
A song that predicted what is happening today.

the guitarist from this band is my guitar teacher.. no joke
A song that should be remade today! I love this groups music and own all of their music.
The singer's voice is so good, the music sounds awsome and the video... I can appreciate, when I see it, the evolution of this art disciplin.
This is an excellent song. One of those I'd heard on the radio, but had no idea what it was. It bugged me for months, but stumbled on this by chance and it is great.
I love this song!Powerful is how I would describe it. Remember when music had something to offer?
I don't know what came over me, I had 2 of there CD's back in the day lost them. Then for some reason today they just came back to me. What great memories!
Wolf was a wicked bassist, he wrote some bangin' grooves on the 2 Frozen Ghost records.
the 80s turned out a few good Canadian bands. Frozen Ghost was one of them.
Great song...
nothing like reliving the 80s, woo hoo, great tune, way to go canada,,
on the album there was a backwards message at the end i spun the record backwards and it said your ruining your needle arnold lanni is a funny guy

Kind of sounds like The FIxx (Cy Curnin)

@cliffdimerandy the bass he's playing in the studio set is a Spector...they were very popular in the mid- to late-eighties.
I remember this... Guess i haven't burned all the brain cells
Great to 'hear and see' again!
They made THREE abums? Christ, where have I been - the S/T is AWESOME!!!! Thank God for youtube - I had never seen a FrozenGhost video B4!!
@ROBERTVANJOVI ...Thanks. I always thought that there was a connection with Sheriff and Frozen Ghost. Saw Sheriff at a pub/strip bar in Scarborough back in 85' or so...

I dunno' ~ I STILL feel this song refers to *Relationships* ~ past, present & future.... dead or alive?! :-D Nuff' said.
@Yowie9644 and what they say is still true. We miss the message...well....most do
he is singing like he's PISSED OFF! "How DARE they put me in a music video! And why is it Wolf still has most of his hair!?"
I must have missed the 3rd record, I was on the road full time at that point :-)
@MrKikbxer I had the CD, too. (Actually, I had TWO of their CDs.)
Does anyone know where I can find an MP3 download of this song??? Can't find it at either Itunes or amazon!
just joking, excellent song.
which one is arnold lanni?
tteh lp record for this had a backwards message at the end of side two i spun the album backwards and it said "your ruining your needle" good stuff... anyway i wrote arnold lanni and told him it ruined the bands on my belt drive ...he wrote me back and said sorry lol anyhow he now produces forartists like our lady peace and finger 11

it is a great song but would be better without the sax solo ;) But the message is still current.
