Lyrics:
Kýrie, eléison
Kýrie, eléison
Kýrie
The wind blows hard against this mountainside
Across the sea into my soul
It reaches into where I cannot hide
Setting my feet upon the road
My heart is old, it holds my memories
My body burns a gem-like flame
Somewhere between the soul and soft machine
Is where I find myself again - เพลง
This is my most favourite song sung by Mr Mister and it is also a gem of a song, anyone still listening to it now in 2023?
🙋🏽♀️ .
I am, right now. And soon again.
Yep.. but do you still like it as much in 2023 .. I do
Definitely
😭😭😭I miss you 80"
Life was better back then, we just didn’t know it.
Yes, you are so very right
The Greek words for 'Lord, have mercy' are 'Kyrie, eleison,' which means, 'Lord, soothe me, comfort me, take away my pain, show me your steadfast love.'
Thats right !!!
Wow, beautiful!!!❤❤❤
Exactly
Thank you. Back in the '80s I always wondered what these lyrics meant. They seemed very spiritual and it turns out they are. This is exactly what I am asking of God right now.
Happy Solar Eclipse! - April 8, 2024
Apparently, the lead singer wasn't religious, but he used to meditate to these words.
I agree love this song it's a classic.
Who else gets goosebumps hearing just the opening notes?????!!!!!!❤
Meeeeeee!!! 🤩
And that Synth bass part
Yea definitely me too omg
Wonder how they made those sounds in the first 30 seconds of the song. It's incredible
It's definitely looped. But forward then reversed how amazing
Man, I forgot how great this track is. Again, headphones on, volume up, and singing along out loud! Damn the neighbors!
😂
Most people have no idea how great the 80’s were. It was an honor.
I'd be honored if some 80s fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of SISTER CHRISTIAN by Night Ranger, AGAINST ALL ODDS by Phil Collins, and PURPLE RAIN by Prince in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.
If I had a choice to go back to the 8Os forever and stay there, I would take it in a heartbeat. It was by far the best decade of my life. At the time we thought it would last forever or even get better, but unfortunately we were wrong. It's now 2O24 and it's nowhere near as good as it was back in the 8Os. People actually spoke with each other. Nowadays everyone has their heads down in their phones missing out on the little things in life. Who else would love to permanently go back to the 8Os with me ?..Such better times back then and so many great, happy memories.
Agreed

I would in a heart beat! I really miss those days!
Sad I missed it😭
We didn't realize how great we had it in the 80's. Miss those times like everyone else. Anyone who didn't experience the 70s and 80s will never know true happiness by living in the innocence of fun times and everyone getting along. No internet, no media, no cell phones, etc...life was so much fun and the music was GREAT!!

Oh Mr Mister. I wish you guys would regroup and do just ONE world tour. You would pack the house out every show. Why not consider it? Such great icons of the 80s. Brilliant music and you would transport your crowd back to the special memories of a grand era. It would be one night we could be lost in a time capsule of happiness. Forgetting about the scary shitty world we live in today with the rubbish music that goes with it. This song is my medicine. I love it so much. Please think about a tour. What an 80s gem indeed .

One of the greatest songs of the 80’s ! For us Aussies of Greek background, this song celebrated our language on a world stage. Kyrie eleison is Greek for ‘Lord have mercy’ ! More importantly however the message of the song has given hope to many who struggled through dark times. Never get tired hearing this song ! Such an exciting decade to grow up in !!
Thank you for informing of that, I knew the meaning but always had thought it was Latin.

80s music are the best music in the world. Have more sound and definition to the sound. Particularly this song. Most people if not allot of people will agree with me on this. 80s music are better than today's music. Hell I may be 35 I love 80s music than I do today's music and that's kind of sad. The rock and metal music during the 80s are better and have better quality sound to them and that's saying something. This song has that sound.

Doxasi "Δοξασοι", is another Greek word.
It means "Blessed be the name of God". ♥️
And the only difference is that we KNOW and can PROVE that Mr Mister, exist, whereas god and baby jebus, we absolutely CAN'T.
Also Mr Mister make awesome tunes like this one
Fantasy, immoral, imaginary, inhuman, hateful, mafia boss, sky daddy and Co, don't.
They insight hatred in many and indoctrination in others.
So I think we can leave the fact that some words in this incredibly powerful and stunning song, happen to also be in that ridiculous and horrific, hateful, disgusting book of utter drivel, as nothing more than they sounded good, which they did and that they then made the song sound incredible.
Other than that, so what about "god"?
PROVE he exists first and just maybe we can discuss this more. Until then... STFU.

I just found out that "kyrie eleison" means "Lord, have mercy" in Greek today.😃
"Kyrie Eleison" is Greek for "Lord, have mercy." It is used as a prayer in both Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox services. Greek was the original language of the New Testament, which was later translated to Latin. This song is credited to lead singer Richard Page, keyboardist Steve George and lyricist John Lang.
The roots of "Kyrie Eleison" you say are not entirely accurate, not to be confused with anything Catholic or even its coptic tributaries, because they didn't happen until after the 3rd century AD, where is it is true it was a common expression amongst the churches in Asia Minor [that of course would include Greece and Turkey] it has a sad history rooted in the martyrdom of those early Church saints.

Absolute 80’s MASTERPIECE
There is a quality in these songs that modern artists really don't seem to find. The lyrics are great too. I was born in 81, but wish I'd been born a decade earlier sometimes. It would have been great to go to one of these concerts back in the day. The 80s had so many banging tunes. I was happy to live through the 90s, but I still often am called back to the 80s.

Who thinks this band should have grown bigger👍😎
They were very big in the 80s, but once that decade ended, the music was suddenly very dated.
With songs like this you can put them at the top of the list.
Regardless of the decade, this is still one of my top bands. Loved it when it came out new and love it still.
well, if you read their bio, you will note that they were all hella busy before and after. All accomplished session musicians (much like Toto), and their label wasn't really interested in them as a unit anymore.
yes me
Kyrie eleison means , Christ, have mercy. Or Lord have mercy. Down the road I must travel. Gives the song some real depth.
You said it!
The Holy Spirit did it - signs through Scripture, nature, culture (including music) and ... one day (maybe soon) ... Rapture.
How neat is that?
Holy-Spirit neat!
Lord, have mercy.

Man, music was just BETTER in the 80's.
No, it was the BEST back in the 80's :)
I agree with you wholeheartedly!
1985 .... had to move from Ohio to Florida to live with my dad... hated it.!!!! But I remember the songs from those days... music is like a time machine !
The 80's just were magical.
I was running an errand today and this song came on the radio. I have such good memories associated with this song! Rock on!
Same. Great song!
You'll remember this day forever!!
Kyrie.

Me too! When music meant something. It is Greek for "Lord Have Mercy" from the New Testament
Kyrie Eleisin - Lord have Mercy - never had so much meaning until these disturbed times. A song before it's time that Mr Mister sang into our hearts, thank you.
You are so right.
Amen!
A song for all time.
With the "Kyrie Eleison" words going back to medieval times and Gregorian chants.
This song sounds so mystical and mysterious to me now that I know what it is really from.
Especially in the middle of the night.
Kyrie Eleison down that road that we all must travel.
Life, in other words.
And death.
And really just...everything.
Kyrie Eleison.
Lovely words. Lovely ideas. Lovely song.
Forever.
❤️💙❤️
Kyrie Eleison, friend.
That opening just gives you goosebumps
Whenever I hear or say 'kyrie eleison' in Mass, I just want to break out and sing this hit! It came out when I was a sophomore in high school. Real musical talent in this one!
Three young priests in my Archdiocese were not born when this was released! 🤣
I'm sorry, I forgot to capitalize Kyrie Eleison in my comment. Please forgive me.
Let's go RED SOX my people!!!
I'm 61 years old and I cannot get enough of this song!
Ditto!!👍
this was real musik, not this shit today.
Kyrie Eliason means LORD HAVE MERCY ... This song has taken on a whole new meaning for me now .... it went from special to Right up there .. God Bless
absolutely!
AMEN!!
@@UserUnknown_333 Pedro.... Broken wings we knew was about love ... the book of Love is The Bible
Yeah, it is part of the Traditional/Tridentine Latin Mass (TLM). This one of the part taken from the greek rite.
You can see the documentary "Mass of the Ages: The Latin Mass" about it. God may bless you and your families. ^^
@@rafeu2288 God Bless all of you ... We are living in very exciting times .. Amen

Absolutely! Just a better time. 🌹
This song is perfect for right now !!!!
Heavenly Father have mercy on us all
Amen!
That makes no fucking sense, even IN canon...
Hosanna.. Aramaic meaning save, rescue, savior. Cry out to the Lord Jesus. He is King. See Psalm 22. Isaiah 53. Praise God.
"THIS TOO SHALL PASS"..so they say.
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
They dont make songs like this anymore.
Its 2024 and I still listen to this.
I have loved this song since 1985, Kyrie and Broken Wings are two of my favorite songs not just from the 80's but even today. Mr. Mister was a band that made entertaining music with a positive message, I wish there were more bands like this.
Heard this & broken wings as a child and they have stuck with me since. Growing up in the 80's was fun for me.
The 80s will live on forever
