Just this year a Monk friend of mine sat with me one day as I was having a bad panicking day and told me what Kyrie Elesion meant. I realized then that God has been walking with me for years. I just wasn't listening. I am now. :)

The need for grace and mercy from the One who Created us to be reconciled into a right personal relationship with the great I AM is not a contest among people, it's not a moral philosophy as much as it is a cosmological epistemology about the meaning and purpose of human existence. There is no demand for acceptance on anyone's part, love isn't coercive. It is an act of the will that matters. Literally and figuratively. If you are depending on science in particular to validate knowing God, its limitations will not be up to the task. There are other ways of knowing. Information can come from your physical senses for sure, but it can also come into your mind and experiences in other ways beyond mind, will, and emotions beyond religion and science. It sort of like talking to someone you love over the phone. How do you "know" it's them to whom you are talking, not a faker, not a figment of your imagination? You know them! You trust or have faith in the method of communication and assume based on what that your experience is valid?! Based on the principles, doctrines, and dogma of science and technology or is there something more? I just wanted to post a Thanks for everyone who commented on my earlier post. I was addicted to painkillers and had thought about killing myself on more than one occasion. I eventually landed in the ER after a 4 day binge on suboxone. I still have my demons, but I am better than before. This song still provides a warmth I need from time to time. God Bless.

I'm sorry to hear that you struggled with an addiction to pain meds as well. I became addicted to massive amounts of oxycodone, oxycontin, Fentynal, etc. 8 yrs ago about 10 months AFTER the birth of my 2nd child and a crippling low back injury. I can DEFINITELY attest to the overall HORRORS of what that stuff is CAPABLE of doing to one's LIFE... as well as the LIVES of their LOVED ONES who have NO CHOICE but to be WITNESSES of it on a DAILY BASIS. Unfortunately for ME, it DID eventually TEAR my family APART and I'm NOW 42 yrs old and NEWLY DIVORCED from my highschool sweetheart/husband of 18.5 yrs (almost 24 yrs together IN ALL) and if I could go back in TIME and change ONE THING....it would be to NEVER HAVE touched such an addictive drug and AS SOON as I DID realize it was a PROBLEM for me...I WOULD ask for HELP and MUCH SOONER.

I named my kitty Kyrie Elesion. Her nick name is "KiKi." When our mother passed away in 2004 I needed a new soul in my life. I went to the shelter here in Las Vegas called Lieds Animal Shelter in April and adopted her. While reading her paperwork it read that she was born on February 28th, the exact day of mom's passing. The name fits her to a tea. She's very loving and very faithful for a cat.

I became addicted to massive amounts of oxycodone, oxycontin, Fentynal, etc. 8 yrs ago about 10 months AFTER the birth of my 2nd child and a crippling low back injury. I can DEFINITELY attest to the overall HORRORS of what that stuff is CAPABLE of doing to one's LIFE... as well as the LIVES of their LOVED ONES who have NO CHOICE but to be WITNESSES of it on a DAILY BASIS. Unfortunately for ME, it DID eventually TEAR my family APART and I'm NOW 42 yrs old and NEWLY DIVORCED from my highschool sweetheart/husband of 18.5 yrs (almost 24 yrs together IN ALL) and if I could go back in TIME and change ONE THING....it would be to NEVER HAVE touched such an addictive drug and AS SOON as I DID realize it was a PROBLEM for me...I WOULD ask for HELP and MUCH SOONER.

I been addicted to pain meds for 19 yrs. I finally found the help I need but still find myself alone. It's so hard I try to do it day by day. Keep strong I will try to. God bless

I used this song as part of a Eucharist service when I was 17 in 1986. The vicar allowed me to 'play' with the service. People shed tears - really moving and great to the spirit moving through the congregation. Allelujah.

I relaxed in Joe's Grille tonight. One, the many TVs played an NBA game with a player named "Kyrie" and in the hood where I was reared a family's surname was "Kyrie Eleison" so Jesus in His Mercy brought me once again to this rich piece of music. I was an acolyte in my parish church too.
For those who wish to know "Kyrie Eleison" is Greek for "Lord have mercy" and is intoned three times by the presiding Priest and is repeated each time by the congregation at the penitential portion of the Roman Catholic Mass.

I named my kitty Kyrie Elesion. Her nick name is "KiKi." When our mother passed away in 2004 I needed a new soul in my life. I went to the shelter here in Las Vegas called Lieds Animal Shelter in April and adopted her. While reading her paperwork it read that she was born on February 28th, the exact day of mom's passing. The name fits her to a tea. She's very loving and very faithful for a cat.

Why exactly would you need to ask the lord for mercy? Would there be a time when the lord wouldn't be merciful? Wouldn't that make him not "all merciful"? So what's the point of ASKING for mercy when he supposedly all merciful? In fact, asking god for ANYTHING is silly. Everything is god's will so god by definition cannot change his will because that would mean at one point his will was imperfect and needed to be corrected....and what, you are the one who corrects his imperfect will? Pray means you expect an outcome different that what god originally planned and so you are tempting god. You go to hell for that. How dare you ask god to change his will?
