0:00 Introduction: The classic side effects of sugar
0:15 Sugar vs. carbohydrates
3:12 7 signs you’re eating too much sugar
4:59 The #1 sign you’re eating too much sugar
In this video, we’re going to talk about some of the side effects of consuming too much sugar. Some of the well-known side effects of sugar include fatigue, brain fog, belly fat, carb cravings, and cavities.
Is there a difference between sugar and carbohydrates? A carbohydrate consists of sugar, fiber, and starch. Starches are called polysaccharides, meaning many sugars or multiple sugar molecules connected together. Starches raise blood sugar levels significantly more than sugar.
Starches like maltodextrin, modified food starch, and modified corn starch have a much higher glycemic index than sugar.
Here are 7 surprising signs that you’re consuming too much sugar:
7. Reduced collagen
Reduced collagen will result in loose, wrinkled skin and premature aging.
6. Chronic white tongue
Candida from too much sugar will cause you to have a white tongue. You won’t be able to get rid of it without eliminating sugar from the diet.
5. Chronic sinus problems
Most chronic sinus problems are caused by a fungus called Aspergillus that feeds on sugar.
4. Red or pink gums
Red or pink on your toothbrush after brushing could signify a mild case of scurvy or vitamin C deficiency. High sugar consumption blocks vitamin C.
3. Low testosterone
Low testosterone can cause erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and difficulty building muscle.
2. Susceptibility to infection
Too much sugar can weaken your immune system, making you more vulnerable to infection.
1. High adrenaline levels
Too much sugar damages the cell’s ability to make energy in the mitochondria. To compensate, the body produces more adrenaline.

I thought it was impossible to quit sugar but after nearly a year, I no longer crave sweet things
That's fantastic!!!
Protein and fat helps a lot.
I have to commend you for that because I know the hell you have to experience to purge from sugar. It's one of the best things you can do for your body. Keep it up and don't let anyone try to knock you off your progress 👏

"ADHD SYMPTOMS!" 🔥 One day I was laughed at by a college graduate because I misspelled the word "fruit!" 😂 He said a poison called adderall might help. After I explained that it's not an option for me because I understand how junk like that, lyrica, seroquel, etc., are highly toxic to the brain, and how they affect the catecholamine pathway... he was in awe! Since I've stopped eating sugar and started taking Body Health Perfect Amino, the ADHD symptoms have gone away! 🙂 Thank you, Dr. Berg! Happy Mother's Day to all of the great Moms out there! ❤

Wow that make so much since!!

I've been noticing my face is getting so bad(acne) and it's mostly sugar.
aahhh I am trying my best to eat healthier too
“Eating too much sugar” if I say that to my diabetic dad, he’ll burst out saying “I don’t have sugar” even though I’ve told him hundreds of times that carbs are sugar🙄 he still eats his carbs🤦🏻♂️
Try to get him a continuous glucose monitor if he doesn't already have one, this way he can see what happens to his glucose level when he eats bread for example, vs just a piece of cheese (without bread!)
Show him the alternatives to his carbs he eats…educate him he has better choices. Lowering your carbs under 50 is possible…challenging but possible. God bless😇

I’ve tried, he did cut down for a bit but then had a hissy fit and went back to having it all again. I’ve given up, we don’t talk about it any more.
Can't get mad at him, he's just following his doctor's advice.
I’ll be praying for him 🙏 take care!
I'll never forget Dr. Shawn Baker telling stories from his practice, of having to tell people to their face that he will have to cut off their diabetic foot if they don't cut the carbs... And some outright respond that they cannot! If that's not addiciton. There is no such thing.
No one asked
@@thatguy9464 I believe you can cut the carbs my guy.
Guess what - you're also addicted to water and air. Carbs are a source of energy, you absolutely need them.
@@miscellaneous263 Not only do you NOT need carbs for fuel, your body runs more efficiently on ketones, which you make in abundance when eating a carb-free diet.
Carb free here and all markers of energy exploded upwards to infinity and beyond 😂
But people never believe it, despite the real metabolic science behind it that runs counter to the fake nonsense we all hear and parrot everywhere.
Now here's a docter I don't mind having an appointment with. Most docters don't share their knowledge because all they know is drugs. This guy cares!

Wow…. now I know why I had chronic sinus issues and nervous energy etc. growing up. I’m really grateful for all the wisdom you impart. Teaching is certainly your gift - thank you!
Me too, pretty much my whole life and really got bad as I aged. I'd wake up and blow wads of blood boogers most mornings.
I went keto for a year and and half and my sinuses greatly improved. Then I went carnivore a few months ago and they are gone.
I do still drink on occasion and bam, next morning back to bad sinuses. Fortunately not nearly as bad each time being less and less and they clear up by the end of the day.
This video was THE MOST convincing one yet. Those particular symptoms are way too familiar to me... Everything from having to brush and scrape the plaque off my tongue AT LEAST four times per day, to the chronic sinus infections, insomnia, etc... And those profit margin discrepancies when comparing the different foods! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS INFORMATION!!!
No problem. Glad you like what I shared here. Wishing you good health.

I don’t really crave sugar too much, the issue for me is just having sweets in the house, then I’ll be encouraged to eat it, but if there is nothing sweet in the house I can go without it just fine.
I love my bakery products, ice cream and candy bars but.....I have to remind myself how difficult it is to reduce sugar cravings, which stops me from eating any of that stuff all together.
I guarantee that if you will eat more salads, you will stop craving for sweet stuff. I eat sugary stuff only because I want, not because I have to. But I can easily cut it off close to 100% I don’t even use sugar with my tea or coffee.
I'm 64 5'10 173 and still pumping iron, I went from 205 to 173 and I now allow myself some peanut butter cups on the weekend. I actually break them up into crumbs and eat them slowly to enjoy them. Yes, it sounds funny but it has kept me from going back to my old diet of desserts every night and cereals, pies, cakes, cookies, ice-cream and brownies. But I only buy enough on Saturday morning to last 2 days . I eat mostly meat and eggs and milk and honey in my coffee.
@@nemesis8131Salad is another overpriced food that is almost useless for nutrition. Lettuce contains 95 percent water. Think about that when you buy Lettuce. When I buy hamburger it's basically all food and fat that are good for my body.
Support European or local organic bakeries in your neighborhood (real butter, raw sugar, no fake ingredients). The supermarket stuff is 99% modified, starch BS that will make you sick if you keep eating it.
@@nemesis8131 Unfortunately not true for me, I've done keto for over a year and i still have sweet cravings. Most recently it was chocolate milkshakes.
Also beware of labels that say "No added sugar", they are mostly worse than sugar as they contain other chemicals that are more glycemic (sorbitol, etc)
@@NoName88837 Yes, I'd go as far as saying that ANY label is bad, always go for raw, natural/unprocessed organic foods
How about sugar- free gum like mentos? Is it bad? Coz according to google it has xylitol. That' s why I' m currently usìng it. Coz I have demineralize teeth since last month after the removal of my braces.

At some point I’ll enjoy a beer or something but for now I’m avoiding bad sugar, my body deserves a break

@@heroicsquirrel3195 Donuts are one of the worst things you can eat. That's why many Americans are so overweight. Peanut butter cups are better for you.
Me to. But I cheat on Sunday(10 or so chocolate chips)and I really miss egg noodles sometimes!
I had a cream fruit slice of cake 2 days ago. I just couldn't wait until my 30-day challenge was over by the first of the month. I used to do cheats only on weekends, but now I do it once a month. That includes popcorn, chocolate, and ice cream. I eat healthy pizza on the regular.

That last revelation about 'anxiety' being linked to constant feelings of fight or flight and adrenaline is spot-on, and it's something I had never realized before. Despite being deeply invested in weightlifting, I was pretty clueless about my diet, especially when it came to consuming bread for carbs. Little did I know, white bread essentially breaks down into sugar, and it was this sugar intake that was triggering my adrenaline spikes and perpetual fight or flight mode. Almost 24/7, no less! After experimenting with fasting and later transitioning to a carnivore diet, I've managed to restore balance in my life. I'm now heavier, but more importantly, healthier than ever before. I've achieved a steady state of symbiosis and homeostasis. I feel clear-headed, focused, strong, and have regained control over my sleep patterns. My ability to concentrate has improved dramatically, all because I've significantly cut back on sugar. Huge thanks to Dr. Berg for shedding light on this! - A shoutout from a guy in his 20s, feeling better than ever!

I've stopped eating sugar as a sweetener. Still using honey for coffee though. Looking at labels more closely also. Helps when you know what to look for.
Thanks for that Dr. B
Might wanna look into the effects of consuming hot honey, and what it does to the honey.
After reading many stevia natural sweetener labels I found one that has one ingredient that I use now. Many of them have glucose which is exactly what we no-sugar folks want! Hint: the big box of stevia sold at Costco has glucose. Don’t recommend that.
Cut the sweetness altogether, bro.
Sugar isn't that difficult to cut, but weening yourself with different sugar is just gonna drag it out.

Sugar is the number one enemy.
Is sugar replacement (stevia) a good thing to use? and also i'd like to ask an important thing. Drinking sweet drinks or smoking is associated not just with a habit, but with kind of a ritual, like when i go from work i usually take a drink to smoke with, and i find that it's not that much about wanting sugar or wanting to smoke, but about that ritual of it. How to break these rituals? because without them the day feels empty or incomplete.
The easiest way imo to replace bad habits is put a better one closer to the ultimate goal in it's place, even if it's not as enjoyable at first.
Baby steps, and be ok you may take a step backwards at times, just dust yourself off and keep moving forward.
So in your case, pick one break each day you take and just take a walk instead. It will probably be a little difficult at first, but muster through it. When you are completely comfortable doing that one walk, add a second walk on a second break and repeat until your ritual is now taking walks on your break.
I also replaced sugar with stevia like this and now the taste of sugar to me is acidic and metallic, kind of nasty frankly as it overpowers the sweetness. Now I'm even slowly getting rid of the stevia.
@@tradermunky1998 I also started getting just a little bottle of normal water instead of a sweet drink, so that makes the ritual stay but without sugar
@@lepersonnage371 Perfect!
I also smoked from the age of 14 till around 46 and also quit that using the same sort of method.
I first went high nic salts, very important to get over the cigarette hump. I started out only vaping in certain circumstances, using vape only in the car, or whatever, essentially setting aside a time where I would vape instead of smoke. The real high nicotine will over time make the craving for vape naturally be greater than a cigarette and I dumped the cigarettes. Then I slowly whittled down the nicotine level and went zero flavors, halving it each time I was comfortable.
After a halving I would vape ferociously, but it would always decrease and go back to regular vaping level and when I was comfortable I would halve it again.
Starting at 25 mg of nicotine I got down to 2 mg of nic salt. And then I had a day where I just didn't care if I vaped or not and just quit easily.
Took a few years, but I had failed so many times before and it was so much easier this way.
Stevia is fine. Here's a video that may help:
