I've never seen Les Miserables, the movie or any theatre production, but I promise you, if and when we get through this calamitous period the world is suffering... I WILL, AND BY GOD I WILL, BE TRAVELLING TO THE UK AND WATCH "Les Mis" AT THE WESTEND!!!
Since the lockdown I've seen the Les Mis 10 year anniversary special on TH-cam at least 19 times and I'm Loving It. The performances of Phillip Quast as Javert and Colm Wilkinson as Valjean are just outstanding.
In 2008 I was in London and could choose one show. The smile on my face was prices. Two of the coolest things I've ever done- Augusta National and Les Miserable on the West End. It is beyond cool
You won't regret it. I saw the original production at the Queen's before it shut down for the retrofit/renaming. No matter how good the filmed version is, seeing it live is just beyond your expectations. I knew the score inside out thanks to my CD of the 10th anniversary Dream Cast, and I was still sobbing throughout the performance. And let's just say the things they've done with the the sound system make you feel as if you're in the middle of the action, which was just mind blowing.
I'm in the same boat. I was a Les Mis virgin, saw the 25th anniversary on Sky Arts and now I'm scouring TH-cam for everything I can find. Wanna see a LIVE SHOW!
I’ve had a crush on Mr Michael Ball since I was 16. To see him again and in the show I loved him in, is absolutely amazing!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
@Jen A I had the great honor of meeting him many, many years ago and he was the sweetest guy ever. He is exactly as he seems in interviews. He's kind, surprisingly humble and full of life. He totally makes me smile!!

As a huge Les Mis fan, I can't believe I just found out this recording exists today. 😅 Saw the show 6 times live and it was the first show I bought tickets and had to cancel after the theatre halted. Can't wait for the return of live theatre.

I was luckily enough to see the staged concert with my daughter. Ive never cried do much in a theatre as i did that night. It was so fantastic. We have tickets to see the show in Birmingham this July and am praying it wont be cancelled xx

I saw it as well, last Sept 25 '19. Excellent concert! We missed seeing Alfie Boe, as he was supposed to be in the show that night, but John Owen-Jones did well. People seated around us were doing quiet sobs, like usual!
This is one of my favorite productions of Les Mis! Please, please, please release it in the US!

Yeah I saw it as well at the Gielgud Theatre in London on Saturday 5th October 2020 in the matinee afternoon performance and it was amazing and I saw it with Michael Ball, Alfie Boe and Matt Lucas who were all brilliant in it

I saw this show in 2012 with my dad. It was the first show my dad saw, and from then on he loved theatre. And it remains the best show i’ve ever seen. 💓

I have seen loads of shows in London, but this one was by far the one that made the most impact on me. I saw the musical itself numerous times, but there was something so powerful with this Staged Concert version that absolutely had me in pieces. Never experienced a London audience at the end of the first act, literary jumping into a standing ovation with the loudest cheering in a London theater I ever heard. Brilliant cast, I had the privilege to have John Owen Jones , who was phenomenal , but who wasn't? Bradley , Rob, Carrie , Shan, Matt and Katy, Micheal and really the magnificent cast made this a night I will never forget. and let us not forget the incredible orchestra..It really can not get any better then this. I soooooo miss live theater! Hope this will be available outside the UK Soon!

I saw the original stage show in London, with Patti Lupone as Fantine, and Colm Wilkinson, I think: then twice when it came to New York, then AGAIN in London. The concert version is every bit as moving, and LOVE Mat Lucas! How would Thenardier sing Baked Potato?
Les Miz is one of my favorite musicals of all time. I hated hated hated the original broadway production - it embodied everything wrong with 80s Broadway theatre. Every other staging or concert version I've seen is better, and this is no exception.

I was there last Sept '19, at the concert, and if I hadn't known ahead of time that he was playing the part of Javert, I wouldn't have known it was him up there on the stage. Unrecognizable! I loved when he played the part of Marius in the 10th anniversary production....swoooon!

The National Theatre and Andrew Lloyd Webber do free streams on TH-cam available for 2 days after streaming. You could do that too for people who have lost their income and as much as they would like, cannot spend money on a download like that.

But they are all films which have had a commercial release in the past. The production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom at the Royal Albert Hall (produced by Cameron Mackintosh) was on digital download, DVD and Blu-ray 9 years ago, and on TV. Same with Joseph. So they’ve recouped all their production costs and paid actors, musicians, creative teams long ago. This release allows artists to get paid, and donates to charity. Recent movies like The Invisible Man lost their cinema releases so went straight to digital download for £13.99 rental. So they can try and recoup their costs. This Featurette has been made in the last 2 weeks as a free addition.
They are using it to raise funds for charity. Half of the proceeds are going to charities that are really important during this time

I have seen les miserables twice, but I would love to see it in France. So if there is any French people no pressure! I think it would be really cool to do it for the French opening ceremony for the Olympics. In 2024! So hope they do! I think people would love it too. It is loved all over the world and it would be so cool to have it showing off where it all started. To all French people I hope you at least think about it!

I live in Göteborg, Sweden, and saw the show in London in June 2019. How I long to get the possibility to buy the staged concert. I think it would be a great thing to have it streamed here on the youtube-channel already the first days of October as that would be a nice celebration of the 35 year jubilee.

Does anybody have any idea where I can find the filmed version of the 2014 Broadway production of Les Mis? On Imdb I saw that there is a filmed version of that awesome production with Ramin Karimloo as Valjean but I can't find it anywhere. I would so much like to buy it
