Thanks Charly.. A lot of these similar videos don't show that you have to removed the guide channel to get the new steel cable over the nylon roller as you have noted at 20:15! Thank you
Charly, you may not be a professional garage door repairer but this video has something I haven't seen from those that claim they are. Close ups of the important bits, they're invaluable in the process of mental preparedness. I'm replacing my cables and roller guides this week and I feel more relaxed after witching this, so thank you. A bit late perhaps but the original Cones and cables you acquired would have worked if you'd removed the circlips on the roller guides and fed them through the loops. Also, removing some width on your longer tensioner bars, I would have put them in a drill and used sandpaper, a file or the grind wheel, for quick symmetry. Anyway, thank you again, keep up the good work. :)
As a fitter I’ve been shouting at the phone . There was so many tips and tricks that I could have helped with. This is a 10-15 min job for us. 😂 well done though got there in the end. I will start adding videos now I’ve seen how hard people think it is. And I’ll do it on the dark with my sunglasses on 😎 😅
Once upon a time you taught me how to fix a lavatory (which I needed as mine had just bust for the same reason), now I'm learning how to fix a garage door cable. Which I may need as ours is aging. lol this has been cool :)
I once attempted to do this, and failed miserably, ended getting the experts in only took them an hour....easy when you know and easier with all the right tools....
Hi Tom I'm Andrew D Bainbridges son in law I'm just getting into Barbel fishing having spent the last 30 years carp fishing so love your videos , be great to meet you at some point
That’s the type of d.i.y job that would give me sleepless nights Tom. You certainly have more patience and knowledge than I have, well done and tight lines when the rivers go down...if they ever go down 🎣 😀 Neil
Well done Tom. Not for the faint hearted recoiling those spring. Unfortunately if you rang a supposed “expert” these days they would say “you need a new door”. Skills in most industries are disappearing. Good job done.
what a great instruction video.
