omg i was looking for a vid like this a couple weeks ago when i was doing my days gone speedrun. thanks for making these vids, very informative. can prob use this and the breaker stealth kill with smoke bomb tip in my 100% run :D
Happy to help! I recently learned a new trick myself, use Flashbang Grenades on Breakers instead of Smoke Bombs. Smoke Bombs use up your crafting materials, Flashbangs you can simply buy from merchants!
I save my smoke Bombs for Runners now because it makes them stop and throw up. I use Flashbangs for just about everything else because they're easier to replace.
I didn’t play this game until recently, having gotten it for free on psplus a year or so ago. Man, I almost missed out on one hell of a game. I don’t want it to end!
Is there any purpose in the stack of rocks?3:35 in real life they indicate a trail and if the rocks are on the left or right that means the trail goes that direction. But does it mean the same in the game and does anything happen if you knock all of them down?
I'm not sure what the full story behind them is in game but they're associated with a group of raiders known as the Anarchists. There is an achievement for knocking over a certain number of them.
My favorite things to get first are the Machete and the .22 Repeater. Machete Location: The houses south-east closest to the first hideout, next to railway bridge. There's one little lonely house south with a Machete in it. 22 Repeater: On top of the waterpower plant, also very close (north-)west of the first hideout. There's a stairway and ladder that obviously lead to the highest point of the power plant, on the walkway there are multiple items to loot including the Level 2 Rifle.
Oh nice, knowing places to pick up your favorite itmes in the early game makes a big difference! There is a machete even earlier than that! When you walk down the hill to do the very first marauder mission, while walking to find your bike, there is a green Oregon State Parks and Wildlife truck very close to O'leary Mountain safe house. These Park and Wildlife trucks have machetes on them almost always! Thank you for watching!
There is 2 other explosives locations between two entrance from Lost Lake to Iron Butte from Iron Butte side. One has historical marker next to it. Other is from left of entrance you and Skizo taken during second Rippers mission.
Great job finding those! I made an updated video a while back that shows locations I found more recently. Here ya go: th-cam.com/video/kfAaNKp9jvs/w-d-xo.html
I think I found some more there’s one in iron butte in one of the 2 buildings if your looking at the Nero checkpoint it’s the 2 buildings up above it and I found one in lost lake in the blue building that is to tue left of the road in camp pioneer I found an attractor at camp pioneer and I believe I found some bombs and crafting materials at tue other I don’t know if these are listed in the vid but I figure I’d let you know, also there is another refuel location near Sherman camp that has decent crafting materials for throwables and I haven’t found more I thought it list that small location with decent crafting materials even though Marion forks and the Nero places are enough
Yes! More stuff! I need it all. The Sawmill horde kicked my ass! I could be mistake, but I think with the updates, horde has been moved. They weren't in the pit
That horde won't appear at all until you reach a certain point in the story. When you open up Iron Mike's Lost Lake camp, more hordes become available including the Little Bear Lake horde. Like all Hordes, once they start to spawn, they will always be in their shelters during the day, roughly 7am to 7pm For more info on exactly when and where hordes spawn have a look at my Horde Killer Master Class video: th-cam.com/video/_42DO9BhGUo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xPDd1rTRwkjZsOtu Hope this helps 👍
@@SpawnicusRex this REALLY helps. I have been reloading checkpoints at least 10 times and still no luck. I will wait till I reach that point in story. Great videos by the way and subbed.
I went to that first mini horde location in your video but there were marauders there. Will the horde spawn now that I killed the marauders? Great video BTW
The Horde in the tiny shack? They won't spawn until you reach the 3rd camp, Iron Mike's camp. Reaching that third camp is the trigger that spawns most of the early Hordes.
You bet! Push forward in the missions for Iron Mike's camp and you'll have a few chances to pick up an MG45 from some Ripper Heavies. Once you grab that MG45, take that bad boy back North and wipe out ALL those Hordes around Copeland's and Tucker's 👍
What's the name of your melee weapon? For some reason I still have 4 crafting boxes locked. Or do you acquire them later on the game? I'm on the mission to clear the old sawmill horde btw.
That is the Superior Metal Axe. It cannot be crafted. It can only be picked up in either the I-97 area or the Crater Lake area. There are several locations to pick them up and after you finish the main story, you'll be able to get back there to explore.
@@ant-man9018 if I'm not mistaken there's one at the ski lodge and maybe the visitor center. its an ok weapon damage is good and durable but your slow when swinging it in a fight the machete is a faster weapon
For variety I switched from Superior Axe to Superior Spiked, very similar I believe. Tempted to try the machete as someone just suggested... reason being the speed. I don't seem to notice any "combo" effect(s) despite the skill upgrade. Just slow swings (but downing them in one).
4 full days. I recommend resting for a full 48 hours in one map zone and then resting 48 hours in a different map zone. If the items haven't spawned in after that, simply rest one more day in any zone.
other secret location: the cave under Aspen butte ambush camp(after the first reacher mission) the shortcut between Lost lake and Iron butte(Skizzo mission).A small path on your right side you meet a abandoned camp for some extra loot.
All loot that can be picked up off the ground, including Hidden Loot Locations, will respawn roughly evey 4 days or 96 hours. You can force the loot to respawn by sleeping for a total of 4 days. During some missions, time will pass and this counts too. Here is a link to video that explains forcing a loot respawn in more detail: th-cam.com/video/eqyJ1PR47H8/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps, enjoy and thank you for watching!
The two best places that I know of are the Sawmill Nero checkpoint *and* the train tunnel at the mill, and this location in the southern areas: th-cam.com/video/_8pxiC4AuGQ/w-d-xo.html Oh yeah, there's also a lot of kerosene and rags here: th-cam.com/video/u4KHpleJM1o/w-d-xo.html
There are no places like that. Some places are better than other but you pretty much just have to gather as you go. All Nero Checkpoints, especially late game ones, will have stuff for Napalm Molotovs but there are no places to get mass amounts.
Why would those locations are "hidden" whey they were obvious on the map and easy to find (some locations are even on your way to or at the mission)? Am I misunderstanding the subject of this video?
No, you're being overly critical and pedantic. They're "hidden" because they're in places you would never find unless you're exploring very carefully and because some of them are literally behind locked doors and can only be reached by climbing in through a window.
@@SpawnicusRex I don't think I am overly critical and pedantic because I don't think "hidden" means "not convenient to find." I have to admit that I explored the map carefully and I found those places without spending much efforts but I just don't think "hidden" is the objective for that when you don't really need to do certain procedure just to reach to it. Anyway, don't get me wrong, I am not saying your video isn't good or anything, your video shows the details about where those locations and I appreciate it but I just got misled by your subject "hidden locations" just like locations that you have found locations that nobody normally could get there.
This might help a bit: 4 Cans In One Spot th-cam.com/video/yvJ642H65Cs/w-d-xo.html also check this beginner guide reddit post that I made a while back for the best list of crafting materials that I've ever seen: www.reddit.com/r/DaysGone/comments/nhweku/beginner_guide_thread_revised/?

I turn off the music in most games, and definitely did it for Days Gone because I want to be able to hear the Freaks, especially the Hordes when I don't notice them, but watching the videos the music adds so much tension and atmosphere. I'm torn over whether I should have it on or off :(
I ALWAYS turn off music in games EXCEPT Days Gone lol They just knocked it out of the park with the music on Days Gone not only is it creepy AF and does a great job of building atmosphere but, it also served a practical purpose too. The music changed when human enemies are near and changes to something different if freaks are near. It changed again when the area is clear of enemies. The music will tell you a lot about what is going on around you.
No problem! I know this video is really long but if you need serious help getting started, I made a video guide for the "Best Early Game Start". It includes how to get the best early game weapon by finding and killing 4 small Hordes: th-cam.com/video/WasuvuDIwQA/w-d-xo.html
You'll have access to the northern regions again soon and, after the credits roll, you'll have access to the full map to finish clearing Hordes and wrapping up side missions 👍
@@SpawnicusRex thanks I just unlocked tuck did a mission find a girl in the electrical tower can I go pick up the lmg now or do I gotta wait? I'm trying to kill 4 hordes 2 down train and some lake
You won't be able to get that LMG until you reach the next camp and get the mission to search the wrecked airplane but, using the traps and bombs found at those loot locations it is possible to kill the 4 Hordes to unlock your SMP-9. Use an online guide to find these 4: in the Cascades it's Death Train Horde, Proxy Falls Horde, White King Mine Horde and in Belknap it's the Lava Arch Horde. Those 4 are definitely there even this early in the game and they're all fairly small.
No problem, I realized I made one mistake in my last really to your. The Horde you'll want to find in the Belknap area is called Shadow Lake Horde. Lava Arch isn't the right one.
There are three ways to make those easier. One: Use the SMP-9 that is unlocked by killing 4 Hordes, this weapon is an excellent sidearm that works very well for shooting from the bike. Two: Earning ranks in Challenge Mode will grant a permanent bonus that carries over to the main game. One of those bonuses increases range and accuracy when firing from the bike. Three: Simply shoot the guys off their bike with a sniper rifle.

I heard loot re spawns but none of mine have on any settings.
All loot that can be picked up off the ground, including Hidden Loot Locations, will respawn roughly evey 4 days or 96 hours. You can force the loot to respawn by sleeping for a total of 4 days. During some missions, time will pass and this counts too. Here is a link to video that explains forcing a loot respawn in more detail: th-cam.com/video/eqyJ1PR47H8/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps, enjoy and thank you for watching!
any idea where to get some napalm ingredients?
The two best places that I know of are the Sawmill Nero checkpoint *and* the train tunnel at the mill, and this location in the southern areas: th-cam.com/video/_8pxiC4AuGQ/w-d-xo.html
Oh yeah, there's also a lot of kerosene and rags here: th-cam.com/video/u4KHpleJM1o/w-d-xo.html
@@SpawnicusRex like for mass amount i checked both of those still need alot of shit bruh
There are no places like that. Some places are better than other but you pretty much just have to gather as you go. All Nero Checkpoints, especially late game ones, will have stuff for Napalm Molotovs but there are no places to get mass amounts.
Great stuff !!!
Thank you! These locations have made it much easier for me recover after a day of Horde killing!
I couldn't get in too days gone at first.. But the game is actually a masterpiece just gotta be patient with it
So true! The game was meant to have a long, slow burn to start but once it gets going, there is nothing else like it 👍
Why would those locations are "hidden" whey they were obvious on the map and easy to find (some locations are even on your way to or at the mission)?
Days gone 2.. Surely makes sense. 🙏 👍 💚
Thanks! I was aware of all but one of these. What I’d like to see is a vid on where to find *!^ing cans. There are never enough cans!!!!
This might help a bit: 4 Cans In One Spot th-cam.com/video/yvJ642H65Cs/w-d-xo.html
also check this beginner guide reddit post that I made a while back for the best list of crafting materials that I've ever seen: www.reddit.com/r/DaysGone/comments/nhweku/beginner_guide_thread_revised/?
@@SpawnicusRex thank you!
Nice work man but time stamping would be awesome
Check the description for a link to the updated version, it does have timestamps and shows even more locations to get free loot 👍
@@SpawnicusRex Word!!
Lol, I aim to please 🤷♂️
If you’re a fan of the zombie apocalypse this is the greatest game ever
Yeah, they did a stellar job with this game! There is a newer version of this video that shows even more loot locations! I found more after making the first vid. Thanks for watching!
Newest version: th-cam.com/video/YfLWWazPnjE/w-d-xo.html
I turn off the music in most games, and definitely did it for Days Gone because I want to be able to hear the Freaks, especially the Hordes when I don't notice them, but watching the videos the music adds so much tension and atmosphere. I'm torn over whether I should have it on or off :(
I ALWAYS turn off music in games EXCEPT Days Gone lol
They just knocked it out of the park with the music on Days Gone not only is it creepy AF and does a great job of building atmosphere but, it also served a practical purpose too. The music changed when human enemies are near and changes to something different if freaks are near. It changed again when the area is clear of enemies. The music will tell you a lot about what is going on around you.
Strangely enough turning off the music allowed me to get a little more use to the game 😂 my nerves were shot 😂
Best game ever
Glad you found this video. Finding these spots helped me a lot when I first started playing 👍
If you have been playing game like most of us have you'll know every spot for scrap i.e. Hate hordes lololol
bruh whenever I look for gun powder, its so scarce
That one is hard to find sometimes!
Does this good loot respawn?
Yes, it does respawn 👍
All that stuff belongs to Max and you can't pick it up.
Max is a greedy butthole 🤣🤣 He should learn to share!
The hordes... 😖
Nah, the Hordes are great fun! Especially once you use the hidden spots to get geared up 👍
I have just started playing and for this I am terrified of the hordes. thanks for the advice!
No problem! I know this video is really long but if you need serious help getting started, I made a video guide for the "Best Early Game Start". It includes how to get the best early game weapon by finding and killing 4 small Hordes: th-cam.com/video/WasuvuDIwQA/w-d-xo.html
@@SpawnicusRex thanks dude 👍👍👍
Maaaan, i missed all these before going to the second region to find sara:(
You'll have access to the northern regions again soon and, after the credits roll, you'll have access to the full map to finish clearing Hordes and wrapping up side missions 👍
Did new game + and put survival II so easy
I was hoping for a lmg
First place to pick up an LMG is here: th-cam.com/video/C6E2IUjk4mg/w-d-xo.html
@@SpawnicusRex okays thanks bro
No problem, I realized I made one mistake in my last really to your. The Horde you'll want to find in the Belknap area is called Shadow Lake Horde. Lava Arch isn't the right one.
The game is great EXCEPT FOR all the stupid fucking "motorcycle chase" missions -- they really ruined it for me...
Games boring after completing I haven’t played for like 5 months
