The skipper was either guilty or plain stupid ? Probably both, would any serious professional not only set off on a one off fishing trip, off his normal route, in poor weather, take a complete novice to boot and then criss cross a bloody huge containership. Unfortunately the few facts that are available have easily proven otherwise. By the time this documentary was filmed they had served 9 years, yet the wife can barely keep a straight face. Finally how come no other fishing crew spoke up for them, in fact the buzz locally was and is they were being watched on more than one occasion.
In a small town South of Cancun Mexico, locals when needing money go out for a "stroll" on the beach. Sometimes they find sealed bags full of powder on the beach or floating in the water. They pick them up and deliver to the local cartel. They get their needed cash and the cartel recovers what goes missing during the delivers...
Freddy Chale Many years ago it wasn't uncommon to find bails of marijuana floating in the ocean here in mid coast Maine. Usually some teenager became a dealer for the summer we always called it "sea weed" lol. Once my brother and myself were walking on an island in our county and found several kilos of pot sticking out of the mud at low tide. That wasn't bad. But never found any coke. We were always hoping to though
I live in the British Channel Islands, and used to fish frequently. For bait, I used to walk right out at high tide behind a medieval castle looking for bait, and every time I was clambering over those rocks I'd always be keeping a sharp eye out for a 'blue barrel'. I've heard stories of them being dumped in the sea full of hash. Some years back, bars of hash were found on the north coast, the theory was a younger dude on a jetski was trying a run from France and it went tits-up. It must have felt like a good day when you guys found that, living the dream man, living the dream 👌
Poor poor drug smugglers got caught.I wonder how many lives have been saved by our police force on this particular case.Drugs not only ruins users lives,it affects the users family and friends lives as well. Not to mention the crimes users do to sustain their addiction. Those scum bag fishermen thought of themselves and only themselves.Don't drop your soap boys.

From my understanding of this (assuming none of the fisherman were found in possession) they were convicted entirely on circumstantial evidence; itself containing several defects. Even if they were in that area for a purpose related to the drugs, it's hard to see how there was enough evidence to convict them all..
the work of the police is very bad, unprofessional , strange and suspicious . if the Police was watching the Ship and the Fishermen group , and said that they dump the drugs in the sea with the intention to pick up the drugs in other time. so, if it´s true, why they don´t follow the fishermen and surveillance their phones talks and wait until the Fishermen go picking up the drugs, to catch them with the hands in the drug ?? and can´t understand why the judge give them a very long time in the jail without a strong evidence,?? without any connection with the drugs world and no history of crime??, without any of the fishermen have problems with Police related with drugs ? this is a case without any serious evidence of a crime .... the Police are the real criminals
Once again a police fit up.It seems that these guys were in the wrong place at the wrong time.No matter what the police and customs were going to get a conviction
They new the risks involved. How much money would they have made from the sale of the drugs, how many lives may have died as a result. I have no sympathy for them.
When I started my fishing career I was called by Jamie green after I put an advert on a website looking for work as a deckhand. I agreed to go on the next neap tide after a week or two. By grace of god a local beamer skipper called me with a berth I called Jamie back thinking I was letting him down big time mainly due to having a new girlfriend and I didn't want to travel to the isle of wight. I believe this event happened on the next slack tides. People were talking about a few weeks later on the quay and it was in the papers. I kind of think the case is watertight however of you were in the middle of a huuuuge drug smuggling conspiracy why would you recruit a random 20 year old with almost no experience at sea from a message board of a fishing website the trip before. That doesn't make sense. But i cant help but feel I came really close to going to jail which would have been a shame as I ended up marrying that girl and having a kid with her. shivers man. I swear on my mothers life this isnt bullshit I have contacted the lawyers and had no reply i thought it might help the case.
What frightens me is that the police can convict you with such weak evidence. One boat Sails past another boat then a member of the public finds bales of Coke on the shoreline. Surely you need something more concrete than that. And surely if they were actually doing an investigation they would have something more certain.
"Oh we might've just been chucking some bait" their excuse for being seen by the cops dumping the coke lol. these guys are guilty, the sentences are crazy but all evidence points to them!

Shambles this justice system , i know killers who got less than that
Everyone knows who brings in the big shipments
The voices in your head 🤔
.......Big Ships 🤔
Everyone but me... Who?
The skipper was either guilty or plain stupid ? Probably both, would any serious professional not only set off on a one off fishing trip, off his normal route, in poor weather, take a complete novice to boot and then criss cross a bloody huge containership. Unfortunately the few facts that are available have easily proven otherwise. By the time this documentary was filmed they had served 9 years, yet the wife can barely keep a straight face. Finally how come no other fishing crew spoke up for them, in fact the buzz locally was and is they were being watched on more than one occasion.
Or the police could have sat on that cliff & waited for the people to pick up the gear ? :/ durrrpp
@@mcfcguvnors they got spooked, hence chucking it overboard.
At first I thought that the guys had a chance but then I heard that they have an US attorney. Game over. May your time pass quickly.
Typical BBC, 100m is not that far? What's the point of a boat if your going to rely on "drift"
defo guilty it all just fits too nicely
Don't complain about the sentence, if you do the crime you got to be prepared to do the time . Sure this wasn't a one off .
The sound cutting in and out it too annoying. I'm going to have to bail. Shame I'm interested and want to hear what happened.
Sue Beere defo had a few bags in her time 😂😂
How could you imprison people for a third of their lives over THIS EVIDENCE?!? This is so fucked up on so many levels
"Just a one of fishing trip to get some money" says the father of the convicted.
greed,that whats gets you
Poor poor drug smugglers got caught.I wonder how many lives have been saved by our police force on this particular case.Drugs not only ruins users lives,it affects the users family and friends lives as well. Not to mention the crimes users do to sustain their addiction. Those scum bag fishermen thought of themselves and only themselves.Don't drop your soap boys.
You dont need to be caught with any drugs on a Conspiracy. This is what many people don't understand.
SU1 16 is moving westbound, throwing 6-7 items overboard at intervals! (18.42 hrs)
the next day
"totalling 10-12... The size of a holdall. They were tied together in a line... The last item was a red floating buoy."
the police r allowed 2 change their official log? well! hello hello hello what have we here then! What the police oath...
BBC b carefull
Somebody got killed for that little mistake
From my understanding of this (assuming none of the fisherman were found in possession) they were convicted entirely on circumstantial evidence; itself containing several defects. Even if they were in that area for a purpose related to the drugs, it's hard to see how there was enough evidence to convict them all..
I couldn't of said it better!!!! "Just a Stupid Mistake"!!!
Imagine finding that and reporting it that's the real crime.
Sounds very fishy to get out of the boat and straight in the van forgetting to unload their fishing haul of the night if there was any.
Didn't realize there was no evidence on the men's boat 🤔
With the bag’s leaking, you thought it would have been an easy thing to do.
the work of the police is very bad, unprofessional , strange and suspicious . if the Police was watching the Ship and the Fishermen group , and said that they dump the drugs in the sea with the intention to pick up the drugs in other time.
so, if it´s true, why they don´t follow the fishermen and surveillance their phones talks and wait until the Fishermen go picking up the drugs, to catch them with the hands in the drug ??
and can´t understand why the judge give them a very long time in the jail without a strong evidence,?? without any connection with the drugs world and no history of crime??, without any of the fishermen have problems with Police related with drugs ?
this is a case without any serious evidence of a crime .... the Police are the real criminals
The name of the poiice operation is a little suspect "operation : disorient" what does that suggest to you?
Renwoxing13 Hacked By Scarce police are doing whatever the fuck they like.
shorton naturalmedication n
It suggests that the operation was named "disorient"
Disorient cocaine trafficking? Nothing fishy about name. Conviction for sure fishy but operation itself was most likely kosher
the sister put her hand to her nose when she lied blatant
Once again a police fit up.It seems that these guys were in the wrong place at the wrong time.No matter what the police and customs were going to get a conviction
So when they arrived back into harbour, how long did it take to offload their catch ?
thr lawyer / barrister is real court room brawler
16:34 completely ignores the question is that because you know the answer. what do i expect from a woman who defends murderers and rapists
fooling no one there guilty
How did the police know to arrested them before they found any drugs
funny how the rope looks about 100m lol, isn't that the distance the boats stayed apart
Well, fishermen do use bait.
@@khalilrazak6486 They wouldn’t chuck bait away. They’d use in their pots. This is such a bad excuse.
