Josh McBroom , You’re missing the point and judging by your ridiculous comment, I’m assuming you have very little knowledge on the subject. There’s always been a drug habit. I’m talking about the proliferation of drugs, guns and violent crime in this country. Youth services are nonexistent because of cuts. Special police units which specialise in violent crime and drugs has been disbanded. Moreover, so many police stations have been closed and this is a travesty. The police can’t cope! How do you think the weapons and drugs get into the country. Well guess what, because of austerity they’ve made huge cuts to the boarder force. I live in an fairly affluent area and I’ve seen deals go down in plain site in broad daylight. So logic would tell you that crime has been allowed to flourish because of austerity! I suggest you do some homework. I would recommend watching gangland on channel 5 or 4 and Hometown on the BBC iPlayer. There’s plenty of good documentaries out there. Also LBC is an excellent station for hearing people’s stories and expert opinions. Incidentally, the drug industry is thriving because of the middle class and the wealthy. It’s not just the poor that use drugs.

As one of the cops said, the only way to stop/lessen the county lines problem is to start legalising drugs. For anyone that disagrees, what is better: drugs being controlled by criminals and the black market (like they currently are), or to be regulated by the government like alcohol. This problem is going to continue getting worse and worse still similar steps are taken, there is no other way to make a huge change, it is supply and demand at the end of the day - money talks.
Ask yourself this... if Alcohol was illegal, would as many people buy it or start drinking in the first place? All of this sneaking around to have a drink? if Alcohol was a prohibited, do you think people would openly talk about having a drink? being so open, it has encouraged so many people to at least try it as young as kids. If Drugs became legal, the negative stigma behind it would slowly diminish. People would openly talk about injecting themselves with heroine in front of kids, why would they not be allowed to? like people talk about having a drink all the time in front of kids, its even everywhere on the telly. What I am saying is that, the UK will have a spike in drug users. If you think making drugs legal (allowed) wont encourage youngsters or anyone to try it then please think again. You can argue that there are already a lot of kids/adults out there doing drugs on a daily basis however being illegal and having to deal with the police is still enough for most to stay away and thats crucial, the last thing we want is a nation on drugs. Also, if these drugs (once legalized) are not easily accessible for hardcore users then expect them to return to drug dealers. Its not as simple as regulated vs non regulated, otherwise the answer would be easy.

Too pro immigration in Berlin sadly. Thats why im leaving
Once you're in, you're in...impossible to get out.
I believe if it wasn’t for schools and social services telling you that you’re not allowed to be smacked by your parent that’s where we’re going wrong parents have no control with the kids anymoreParents need to realise they are allowed to smack the kids and punish their kids as long as it’s not an every day thing because then that’s abuse because obviously it doesn’t work and it means you have to try and find another way but never done me any harm taken a slap
Until there 15 and stronger than you and hit you back 🤣
@@willhaer2894 so true, growing up in an abusive home you get sick of it and you hit them back
I only got punished once in my lifetime. And never got hit. I'm not on drugs
Children need boundaries for protection and safety, not abuse
The copper said it, the only way to eliminate the black market and drastically reduce crime is to legalise all drugs.
UK drug policy needs reforming, it might reduce all these county lines shit
Want to make sure I've got this right. A "county line" is essentially a term for a drug ring stretching from urban to more rural areas?
@s ss Thanks
Sort of. The 'County line' actually refers to the mobile telephone line that the poor child in the cuckoo house uses to sell the drugs.
Some drug addicts wanna stop, but they can't because it's so addicting. It's like how your parents drink coffee and won't stop but coffee is a drug and you shouldn't be drinking it
anyone can drink coffee if they want, its not a drug. but drugs are different and you shouldn’t be having them unless they’re prescribed
What you talking about lol.

My mate got lockd up 4 three months for a wash and yes we r from same place so that busy is a liar!...but legalisation is the only way
After watching some videos of police in the UK, I hope that things never get half as bad, but I wonder how they would handle having to work a week in Chicago's west or south side..hell I fell asleep on the cta and went 7 stops past mine where 5 stops is almost the difference between Spain and Mexico. In the 10 minutes it took for me to hop over to the other side and wait for a return train someone popped off 4 rounds. Certain parts of the city are just a cesspool of p.o.s without a care if they end any person's life, man, woman, or child
Mazza I pray u move to a rich hood where u don’t hear gun shots any more god bless from the uk 🇬🇧
😆😂😂😂😂....Rich hood😆😂😂😂😂....Chicago is violent anywhere u go and anywhere in America u'll hear multiple gunshots on a nightly basis in any and every small+large cities for sure and even these smaller towns depending on the state there's gunshots on a nightly basis, its just part+parcel of the lifestyle in America these days and there's no such thing g as "Rich Hoods" bro😆😂😂😂...I can tell u must be really young m8 but u'll soon learn the ins and outs of the real world and what goes on in this shithole of a world that were living in these days that becoming more+more dangerous as each+every day goes by bro! Take it easy m8🤘👍

Hello your royal highness. You were great in the first Naked Gun movie
LEGALISATION, An give these people help, Like they have in Portugal, That all I am saying................
I totally agree with you. The problems in Portugal and Switzerland halved almost straight away after the decriminalisation of heroin and other similar drugs. Yet our governments haven’t even looked at the misuse of drugs act since it was introduced in 1971 except to add even more stupid measures in regards to criminalising users.

Portugal didn’t legalise drugs, you can still go to jail for making or selling drugs
It's very sad. And our leaders are having a party

Rægenhere II now you are saying people over the age of 17 have a choice so how about a vulnerable person who is victimized, bullied and also threatened for there life ?

The Actual Story of Meth in Britain, a lot? or Little?
Depends on the area.
Amphetamine is pretty popular In some places, methamphetamine isn't really here though it's mostly just crackheads
Legalization is needed
Schools expelling this cause this, I almost got expelled, somebody in my year got expelled now he does like 2 months later this exactly, shoplifting smoking bud trapping knives
Charlie Ward Games I got kicked out off school, after that I really didn’t care about life. Numerous times getting arrested for assault, knife, drugs. It was shit but my youth worker helped me get out of my group of mates and now I got a job, a beautiful girl. School life can fuck you up
They need to stop prosecuting the kids. I once saw a kid as young as twelve done for dealing how can that be right
Why aren’t they helping these poor people? How about move them somewhere else if they’re willing and offer them rehab? If they have no one to sell to won’t they stop or move on making it easier to catch the dealers? JS
Not enough of this

the kid screaming getting arrested was saying what the fuck! I'm 2 bags in! I've got a mate who's 21 now and has been smoking heroin since he was 18, its a rough thing to see. I tried it myself, thank fuck it was never my cup of tea!
I met a Young county lines lad and to stop him getting caught and jailed I told him he was being tailed by the undercover police and he was going to get caught I was lying but I just wanted to see him go home even though I was a user myself!!! He got his mum to come and pick him up after telling her what he was doing etc hope he's ok now !!!
But bottom line is she's just as bad for not phoning the police. No sympathy for sue at all.

This needs to stop dee criminalise
bbc how much you smoked it?
I dunno they seem pretty normal to me
It’s funny how they care about this more than murder
They don’t. Are they supposed to ignore other crimes because murder hadn’t stopped happening yet? You think there’s a hierarchy of crimes that they work on in order?
By targeting young people who are being exploited by County Lines, they are preventing further, more serious crimes, from being committed. More serious damage being caused to young people’s lives. People who grow up to be adults, adults who, without proper intervention, would be more like to go on to commit murder. And would go on to be damaged adults.
We can’t just treat the symptoms, we have to address the problem, with compassion.
