One day at a time bro! Remember when that sounded so cliche? That was until you passed by an old dope spot or heard a song that you used to get high to right? One day at a time..
Northeast India, being close to Myanmar, has been heavily affected by the influx of heroin from Myanmar. My region is only about 110 km away from Myanmar, which makes heroin available for as little as $1 per piece. I was an addict, my teenage years and up to my late 20s were severely impacted, and I was completely dependent on the substance. I went to rehab centers many times and relapsed just as often, so many times that I can't even remember. By the grace of a higher power, I am now redeemed. I have been clean and sober for 4 years, 9 months, and 21 days as of today 🙏🏼

🌹 I really like Opium Poppy seed tea. It is a real good pain reliever ! 🌹 I mix apple cider vinegar, steamed distilled water and Poppy seeds in a blender. I let it sit in fringe for 1 or 2 days. It is NOT illegal to grow Poppy flowers in the USA. Poppy seed tea is much healthier than taking prescription pain pills from doctors.
I wish I could get my hands on some good poppy seeds but I really don't trust any of the sellers on the internet to sell me legitimate seeds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
KiloByte war on drugs ? Sounds much like military intelligence in that neither makes any sense. People will always get high, no matter how bad all you want everyone to be just like you, no matter how many laws you make, no matter what. Get a fucking clue.
Heartbreaking to watch especially after knowing that the Military Junta is in complete power again since February of this year. All their hopes are shattered.
It doesn't seem to matter who is in control. But the farmers always seem to be caught up in the fighting. They don't have a clue who comes to collect the "taxes".
To all the people who watch this that are now clean from heroin, keep going! I’ve got 25 months clean from heroin! To the people who are still using it, I pray you find a way to get away from it before it’s too late. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do but it’s so worth it!
the old woman who lost 2 sons to heroin, I cant believe I could have so much in common with someone on the other side of the world. My heart goes out to her. Wish I could tell her this personally.
@@BullRadu dude f*ck you. After a certian age someone makes their own choices in life. And espically in America a large number of addicts got started from a doctor's prescription. Which has f*ck all to do with parenting. Your a peice of garbage dude.
A woman gives up her life & freedom to raise 3 sons and 2 killed themselves with heroin and leave their mother to live a life in sorrow. I am sure she would give her life for them again, if she were given the opportunity. Oh the love of a mother.
@Robert Mugabe That is not completely true, oxycodon etc are semi sythetic and morphine and codeine completely natural, they use semi-synthetics because of effectiveness but mostly cause of patents, these semi synthetics can be made from poppy derived alkaloids. Fentanyl and other synthetics do not have the same properties as natural opium and are often worse in side effect and also are not as blissfull as natural opium.
Hooked on black tar for 9 years plus meth. Now im clean since December 9th 2019. Thank you lord for the trials in my life it made me the man i am today also thank you for where im at now!! Thank you JESUS!
I love in pa and we got white/brown powder herion. I'm a day sick out of cash. Put of things to sell or steal. Please help me to realize that I CAN do this. I been a user for about 3 years now and I already lost everything. I want to get clean.
I am 33 years old from Philadelphia but now live in New England. I have been addicted to heroin since I was 16 with some brief periods of sobriety. Month here or there, not even a year combined. Heroin is a VERY tough drug to manage or get clean from. RIP to all those who didn't make it as long as I did. 🙏🙏🙏
We're the same age and from the same area. Heroin caught on like a wildfire around that time and I still haven't seen anything that insane since then aside from this pandemic
!00,000;s of prisoners withdraw from Opium, Heroin, Meths & cocaine while in prison. My brother & nephew are prison officials. As they point out virtually no one dies from drug withdrawal. Most severe symptoms disappear after about a week. That's not to say the craving stops. Most prisoners dry out in prison, but are immediately readdicted upon release.
Hey Mowgli from the jungle I’m an Aussie that had a bad habit on herion for many years but I’ve been clean now for 25 years but it never quite goes away, I still dream about it even after all these years. Hang in there buddy keep trying to get clean one day it will stick- stay alive man 🌴✌️😎
@@glennbrowning9392 It's the same with speed, pot and alcohol, the cravings never go away. Even after all these years, every day, I still crave the hit and even dream of it. When I wake up, I regret having gone back, and then realise it was only a dream. As Norman McKinnon says above, the physical side is over quite quickly, but the mental side is very hard, and at 73 years of age, for me it's still one day at a time.
A heart-touching upload - the impossibility of their position - the indifference of corrupt regimes - the scope of personal tragedies, all captured in this short documentary. Kudos' to you for your work and my most sincere hopes for their new program.
I been religious all my life and i can surely tell you one thing, it did not help at all in getting me clean. No matter who your or mine god is, it is up to you to do the work and up to you to bear the pain and the stigma for your whole life. It is you who has to start owning up on your mistakes, starts taking responsibility for them and needs to make amends for them, not god. It is you who has to make the decision every single day to stay clean, endure the pain and shame, not god. And it is you who needs to rise above and beyond, far beyond you ever did before, to start a new life without addiction, not god, he has nothing to do with it and while i thank my gods for many things in my life, addiction is not one of them. Sure Morana did not take me when i od'd, and im gratefull for that, and sure by not taking me she inspired new life in me and a wish to live it better but ultimately was on me to stop shooting up, get into a program and work it. I am still not entirely better but im well on my way and way better off than before.
Being an ex-user , going cold turkey really was tough. The pain suffered made me appreciate a normal state of mind body and soul. I can only imagine how deadly this pure heroin is
@Iconoclast at this point in my life im so desperate to stay off it ive even thought of an excorsism, absolutly anything to never do it again, deleting all the dealers numbers i had wasnt enough this time i told them where to go which might not be the smartest thing but cut the source cut the habbit and mabie my head off
@@daandemeyer1708 “Cold turkey” means abruptly stopping whatever addiction you have. Studies have proven it is a failed concept. It’s dangerous, painful, and people relapse more often then if they SLOWLY got off of their addiction
Most addicts have a habit problem, not a physical problem with going “cold turkey”. At least here in Belgium. Heroin, crack, meth,... you guys do a lot of fucked up shit there. Drugs can be fun but you always have to be careful for addiction. The popular drugs in the usa are all extremely addictive, why?
Great video...Americans really need to open our eyes and see what real life is all about. We have it too good!!! I salute these people who are struggling for their daily lives...
+BeeFriendlyApiary Very true. I'm a doc fanatic. Done a couple top 10 doc videos, and the most important thing I glean from them is that I was extremely lucky to be born in America.
Last year after a horrific industrial accident I was on morphine for 7 months. Morphine is one molecule away from heroin and I pity anyone who has become addicted to any opiate. I absolutely hated the drug and it's soporific effect on my mind, the physical side effects are just awful. I weaned myself of morphine by myself because I hated it,if you enjoyed the feeling then I think you would be lost to the drug. Coming off morphine was not a nice experience at all but after a week I was feeling clear and sleeping a bit better. I have honestly never once craved the drug as I hated it so much. It must be terrible for these poor people living in poverty with no future and heroin is their escape from despair.
Opiates are great if your pain is incurable and nothing else helps, though. There's a huge lack of legal opiates, mostly in poor countries, so growing poppies is not an issue by itself.
Using as directed for a number of months as a pain management tool and then having to wean back off deff sucks but it is no comparison to this type of life and if you though that little week was bad for seven months of morphine use you should check out legit detox wards and what years of HEROIN look like.
You didn’t even scratch the surface, im addicted fentanyl to equivalent to maybe 1000mg of morphine, I take enough to kill about 6-7 people everyday from a fentanyl overdose
This reporter only reports the negative aspects of people's views on heroin. The people who died probably had poor health to begin, until I see an autopsy I cannot believe that anyone died there from heroin. I used pure raw heroin for 10 years, and I thank god every day for it. it saved my life. cured my depression, helped with anxiety, and PTSD. Also it helped with my back pain each and every day that I used and I probably would not be alive today if It were not for heroin. I probably would have took my own life because of how much pain I was in. Ive said it before and ill say it again. THANK GOD FOR HEROIN, it is a gift and a blessing. at least for me it was. id still use it if I wasn't on probation. and if your a hater and you want to hate on my words than your probably not hating from experience, I only speak from experience therefor I only speak my truth. thank you all, be blessed
Liam ur documentary is worth million. Shan or chin people of Myanmar have similiar living lifestyle to us in nagaland India. Most of the opium and drugs are from here till today. Public grievances are same. Without other alternative cultivation they depend on opium. Not just surviving but many insurgents asked for tax multiple times. It is better to born rich not poor to overcome worldly cruelty. Thanks for the coverages .🔥🙏
This is so heart touching to see how they suffer and their miserable lives and their loving heart for their family and hopes for their future. But sadly Myanmar is under the military again....😢😢😢.
My father was stationed in northern Thailand in the early 1970s and I visited the Golden Triangle there with a group from the UN and they were working with the hill tribes to grow other crops. What they found and were successful with was growing the crops for the seeds not the crop itself and selling the seeds to the farmers in the agricultural areas. I was offered 20 kilos of opium for my dirt bike because it would faster to transport the opium than by mule.
Annual death stats here in the US; aprox. 88,000+ deaths due to alcoholism.....480,000 deaths due to smoking..... 40,000 due to opioid use but yeah, let's focus on the opioid "crisis" while completely ignoring the other two
2 WRONGS doesn't make a right you bloody fool. Have you seen the multi-BILLION $ lawsuits that the tabacco companies lost? Best we can do at this moment is legalize and TAX the hell out of the drugs and let people ruin and kill themselves off of it if they want to, like they do with alcohol. More $ for the people who want to live a healthy life!!

This is human mind sense This everything is step by step .
From Bangladesh.. Myanmar is our neighbour country.. But our relationship is not good.We wish for Myanmar and Myanmar people to recover their heroin Problem .
Australia almost did away with heroin until doctors stopped prescribing pain medications because of US fentanyl abuse levels; they're more worried about a medicare audit than breaching their duty of care. So patients with slabs of paperwork proving they're chronic pain sufferers end up buying drugs on the street. I'd say 99% of all drug users I have encountered who use heroin during charity work are pain sufferers whom the Australian medical system refuses to treat, so they have to go elsewhere if they want to keep working and have a life. Maybe we should consider legalizing opium and heroin if our doctors refuse to treat patients.
Great doco mate, keep up the good work it was the late King Bhumibol, Rama 9 who stopped the growing in Thailand and encouraged farmers to replace poppies with Arabica. Doi Chaang in Chiang Rai province used to be all about poppies. I was glad to play a small part in the transformation to coffee.
This woman at 24:42 is so beautiful. The way she speaks and the longing of her soul is incredibly moving. I LOVE people like this....whom understand the pain that life can bring and in the face of adversity believe for a better and brighter future. Amazing. The woman who lost her two sons was stunning as well. Amazing work. Thank you.
RAJA Esain when you happy for someone else's death no matter what the reason you will pay dearly I believe there are those that are severely wrong in what they do but anyone rejoicing over someone else's loss I believe is very miserable. Praying you loose your hard heart. Before u say my opinion doesn't matter remember this I've lost sons to hard hearted fools that's exactly where it starts. Did I hate those that killed for a very long time but all it did was poison my heart. Praying yours is healed.
What a crock of shit. All heroin will do is bring out the REAL you! If your an asshole, it will really bring that to light, same with any personality traits, it will magnify the bad in you big time. If your an honest, decent person Heroin will NOT make you run about willing to do anything to score! So many blame the drug when its THEM personally thats the problem:/
@Rage Against The Dem-Machine very true. The problem with most people is that they run their mouths, without ever living that in the drug world, so they really have NO clue what it is like. I fought to get my life back. Hard lesson to learn...
Practice with simple breathing exercises, your brain will begin to get more oxygen giving you a natural high, simple exercise is the next step and with your breathing techniques you start to discover how wonderful your body really is and what it can do!
These workers do not have any sins. Opium is used in a variety of medications. If someone misuses drugs, that person is guilty, not a miserable worker.
What are they guilty of exactly? I am an ex-opiate addict, nobody wants to be an addict, it sneaks up on you, the whole thing just shows the absurdity of the war on drugs/ THe farmers are poor, they have little option, the addicts are troubled, they wish to escape much as someone who drinks, it is society that creates the conditions of inequality, poverty and overwork that lead to the physical and mental pain people are trying to escape, it is society that then pursues a war on those who fall into the trap of addiction, and the only ones benefiting are the cartels and criminals who are given an unregulated market to exploit. Society loses to the crime and disease spread by this market and then pays to pursue a futile effort to erradicate it and lock people away. They then destroy poppy fields as fentanyl floods in to replace it- great strategy!
Often times it’s easier to just stay on heroin cause the withdrawls are so bad. Most heroin addicts get to a point where they just use so they don’t withdrawl.
I did it in jail, with zero help from correctional medical staff..... Tge literally told me to my face they didn't give a fuck if i died in their jail because their only job as correctional facility staff is to make sure i dont escape/try to escape.
Ive done it a few times and its so bad.i was really ill for 4 days on the 5th day i felt better and by the 6th day i was fine and could eat drink and move around no worries.i think the weed helps once your off the smack.
I went through this part of Burma about 20 years ago. From Thailand through Keng Tung up to China. Very pretty country. It was actually fairly safe , Shan state Army had the place under control. Opium poppy was everywhere. If you told me thrn that in 20 years we would not have reformed drug laws to decriminalise illicit drugs and there would be the same problem in 2020 as in 1980 or 2000 I would not have believed you. We are so slow to learn when it comes to drug reform in Australia. Quickest solution is to use government money to buy opium from the farmers cheap then destroy it . Do that for 10 years while you organise growing coffee or whatever else.
Destroy? LOL You do know that there's a huge shortage of legal opioids around the world, right? Maybe you just didn't have any pain that doesn't respond to anything else.
@@peacelove728 ok then buy it and give it to a third world country to take criminality out of the puzzle . In Australia we grow more than enough opium for medical reasons.
Your Chinese Communist government is using ethnic Chinese Wa State Army and Shan druglords to flex their muscle at Myanmar government, you idiot. Lo Hsing Han, Tse Chi Lop, Khun Sa - ALL Chinese druglords. Fuck you Chinese. You started this mess.
Australia, The UK, USA, Canada, and Switzerland all buy opium from legal poppy farms around the world. It is not about fighting opiates as much as it is about fighting "their" opiates. The powers that be are fine with poppy production so long as it is to their benefit and not their enemies.
@StonkSlayd you mean the free will of the African chiefs that sold many of their own African people into slavery to the evil Freemason politicians of the United States ? "If you do not know who is in control then you will be remote controlled."

Sorry man, but she died from STUPIDITY! Blame the idiotic users, not the drug:/ Pure H is non toxic. If your brainless enough to overdose thats not the drugs fault. Then there is the issue of its ILLEGALITY and it being controlled by unscrupulous criminals who cut it with all sorts of nasty shit. Deaths because of this are not down to Heroin, but the LAWS against it:/ If you want to play Russian roulette with street shit in America and Canada be prepared to pay the price:/
OMG, that's the greatest scene in the history of cinema! This footage should be shown in every hospital infant ward, the first thing a child should see, even before his or her parents..
Heroin has made my life a living hell, please stay away from it. It doesn't last. In the beginning it feels good, but I've lost everything because of it.
I have been living with pain and suffering while working and now the government has decided that i can’t have enough pain medication to get me through the day. I am tempted to go find some heroine so I can manage my pain and work it’s a shame that they have to make a criminal out of honest people
Saw a lot of poppy farms in Afghanistan and we would see the entire family out there scraping the pods. As long as they weren’t farmers we paid to not grow poppy we couldn’t do shit about it but watch. We used to patrol the fields and throw the poppy pods at each other. It was actually really beautiful in the spring because the valley would be checkered with different color poppy flowers as far as you could see. It was super cool. We also used to put marijuana leaves in our helmets for camouflage.
Holly shit, smack on the streets of Burma must be incredible. I could plan my next holiday down there. Everything is dirt cheap, country is still not westernized and their anti drug policy is not so strickt (yet). Burma here I come.

The opium does not fuel the conflict! They want freedom and the prohibition on drugs is simply what makes it profitable. Make it legal and you make it safer for the end user as well as removing the hugh profit margins for the organized crime groups. But why would the govt's want to do a thing like that.
after decades of failed miserable failures WHY is it so hard for governments to understand that prohibition only fuels organized crime, petty crime, deaths from overdoses and corruption of government officials & police! Even the UN has studied the problem & concluded legalize .
thats partly true but im not sure it works that way in the small villages shown, as they said in the local communities they are dirt poor and are still able to supply themselves with heroin... basically its dirt cheap there and I dont think legalizing it would make it any cheaper, atleast not at the local level. The amount of money that heroin costs really has more to do with what the local economy can bear, its actually dirt cheap to make. I disagreed when the presenter said that opium was the source of the conflict, but i agree that it is what fuels it, atleast to a large degree, as would any sufficient source of finances. Lastly even if it was legalized the drug traffickers would still make huge amounts of money, because their markets arnt local or even within the country mostly, the markets are in other countries that have bigger economies(and thus can afford to pay more for something they are severely addicted to). The only way legalization works is if first world countries legalize it and put all the money they save from enforcement and incarceration into addiction research and treatment. I believe fully there will come a day when we understand the human body well enough that we could eradicate addiction, even if we took what was normally addictive substances. I think its likely it could happen in our lifetime.
Agreed, the global focus should be on harm reduction and fair profitability rather than punishment and exploitation. The war on drugs has inevitably failed and it's high time for a different tack, these people could benefit enormously and have a better quality of life if it was regulated properly and efforts were made to make the trade safe. The black market for drugs will never fully disappear but drugs is the crux of it and it holds up other terrible things such as shady arms dealing and human trafficking, money works its way up the chain until it's paying for really awful things. The profits made from legal drugs could be used to improve healthcare services and provide rehab centres for addicts in many countries, I know the UK would benefit enormously from legalisation and decriminalisation. In Switzerland they have clinics where addicts can get pure heroin, clean needles, a bed, a shower and social support. Because of all of this they have more time and opportunity to focus on moving on from addiction and standing on their own two feet again, instead of drifting about day by day scraping together money through prostitution and theft to buy more. Their drug abuse rate is incredibly low and it's mostly attributed to their attitude towards drugs and addiction, over there they see it as a treatable disease rather than a social cancer. Legalising drugs would have many knock-on effects both positive and negative, at first the rates of use could shoot up as it becomes available but the treatment that appears alongside it would be far more effective. Psychologists know very well that negative reinforcement, ie. punishment, humiliation, derision, etc. Is almost completely benign compared to positive reinforcement like encouragement and support. Duterte is using his policies as an excuse to discretely wipe out groups of people he considers unfavorable in civilised society but at the same time he's alienating a huge portion of the population who are forced to become involved in drugs through poverty. As the saying goes, you get more with sugar than you do salt.
Opiate Kitten truly drugs are the scourge of the Earth I was once a healthy young man with a quarter million dollar year business now just 56 I'm living on welfare but I guess that's just what we do in Louisiana and I like the OC tab
I traveled to the Golden Triangle, and unfortunately for most of these people there are few viable options to make a living. They need to earn a living and opium is their best option. They also get no help from their govt. I suspect that most users do it because they see no future and want an escape. Unfortunately, opium, heroin are some of the most addicting drugs, so once they start it's very hard to stop. Good to see that they are trying new crops, it has been tried many times before, maybe coffee can be a viable crop. I read that saffron has been tried in Afghanistan, it's even more valuable than opium. I wonder if they could try it there?
In India, poppy farming is legal as long as you get a license from the government. It's a special license that only a handful of farmers are allotted. They are grown not for the sap but for the seeds. For those who don't know the seeds of a poppy plant have absolutely zero psychotropic properties. These are used mainly in cooking for flavour.
Poppy seeds absolutely do have a psychoactive effect, they contain traces of opium on the outside. All you have to do is get a kilo or so of the seeds, soak them in water and then strain the seeds out. It makes a very bitter tea that contains opium.
After we had lost our hvac company, our home and all money and self respect I prayed Jesus please help us get clean whatever it takes! Very emotive documentary. The ending bit where the mother who lost two sons to Heroin, who believes she will most definitely see them again in Heaven made me well up.
All my 3 brothers died from Heroin, we live near the sattahip military base in Thailand. Its a big port and the white stuff comes cheap, at least in the 90's.
The war on drugs has failed. A fair and regulated market would give these people a better quality of life, opportunities to break away from illicit business and would take the supports out from underneath the black market. Drug money pays for arms dealing and slave trade when it moves up the chain, a legal and open market would be better for the producers, the traffickers and the users- basically everybody involved. No private militas cashing in and robbing you on the supply chain, no violent takeovers, no gang killings over drugs. If the world had access to clean, uncut drugs that aren't stained with blood and the sweat of fear on it's way into your system drug use would not only be treated as a disease but could eventually be phased out altogether. It's like the atomic bomb; once it's here, there's no going back. Better that we used the approach of harm reduction and fairtrade than capital punishment, if you kill one drug pusher two more spring up in their place. Legalise it, keep the market clean and tightly regulated, use the profits for healthcare and social services. Illegality breeds organised crime and organised crime kills as many people, if not more, than the drugs themselves do.
So true. People tends to consume more on commodities that are regarded as illegal. Its absolutely true when you say killing one drug trafficker pushes two to take over. There is no stoping it because so long as there is demand supply chain will persist. Supply and consumers had perpetually remained constant, the only thing that is dynamic and underwent frequent change is the price. One stock seized, price doubles, one trafficker killed, price double. As someone said in the comment below, politician knows it, MIC knows it, Military knows it, how true that is... But when it is legalise, the bussiness of MIC will incure heavy loss because drugs dealer would not procure arms like they used to be, illegal arms shipment through drug traffickers will cease to exist as arms dealer are also mostly drug traffickers, politician would not received sponsors from the big Coporatist, and Corporatist and mafias will face innumerable downfall of profit percentage, and Mafias will lost its control over masses and its immunity, politician will lost elections, and Lastly, there will be less drug abused and rehab centres and doctors will make much lesser income and inmates.
You have missed India,I'm from Manipur India Myanmar border state and lots of heroine and other illegal drugs are brought across the border and the authorities caught them many times, and the worst is recently illegal immigrants from Myanmar now started living on the indian side of the border and starting a bigger network, the rise of heroine consumption is due to and after the ban of the synthetic opiate pills back in 2013,and now heroine is gonna overtake the whole sum of Manipur youths.
Pain killers/opiates are absolutely outstanding, excellent drugs for pain and other maladies. It’s unfortunate they are so addicting. There are several people to blame for that.
Problem is these drugs will exist inevitably. If she wasn't the farmer it would just be someone else. That being said if everybody locally knows it's the most profitable crop, wouldn't you want to support your family sufficiently as well ? Plus the girl didn't even know what happens to the harvested opium, so it's not like the intent was to hurt others.
@@OJA-jf7bp you're not right. That's argument of gun producer that "guns don't kill, people do". So I can now plant poppies and start saying that I'm saving other people from doing this?
Among countries of this earth Myanmar is one of the most sensitive people on this earth and bad things keeps happening there ! Very beautiful and hearty people 😢
Good documentary, but it fails to mention that there's a huge shortage of legal opiates around the world for pain that doesn't respond to anything else. While they are/were overprescribed in the US, in most of the world even dying cancer patients cannot get anything stronger than paracetamol or aspiring because opioids are not available.
Addicts do a big majority off all crimes. The addiction is the problem and it does not go away by itself... If soemone grew high qulity drugs for sure addicts or other crminals will steal it.
@@PMMagro armed organizations like militaries, gangs and cartels do a significantly larger amount of crime, multinational corporations or cartels also fund a lot of crime, finance many wars often supplying both sides of the conflict with the same or similar product, most significant crime therefore comes down to the hoarding and allocation of ressources or the universal symbol of ressource acquirement, money. Junkies tend to be petty thieves, not murders. In the US the majority of violent crimes not associated with financially motivated organizations are committed by jealous insecure (and mostly stupid) boyfriends and husbands.
But I do agree that if the poppies were grown for profit some addicts would steal it, but even a co-op or Woof style method would be unpractical for obvious reasons, if poppies matured in a day maybe it would be feasible but because addiction doesn't pause for the several months it takes poppies to mature its becomes a pretty superfluous idea in about 12-24 hours.

@@daandemeyer1708 “Cold turkey” means abruptly stopping whatever addiction you have.
Studies have proven it is a failed concept. It’s dangerous, painful, and people relapse more often then if they SLOWLY got off of their addiction

2 years clean. God Bless all who suffer from addiction, poverty and hopelessness. NO SURRENDER NO DEFEAT!!
Dude that’s not even remotely the same thing. I’m not discounting your pain but you hardly scratched the surface in terms of opioid use/abuse.
Using as directed for a number of months as a pain management tool and then having to wean back off deff sucks but it is no comparison to this type of life and if you though that little week was bad for seven months of morphine use you should check out legit detox wards and what years of HEROIN look like.
I was lost in the drug

These workers do not have any sins. Opium is used in a variety of medications. If someone misuses drugs, that person is guilty, not a miserable worker.
not the plants fault either.

I want to cry loudly at a high end. Thank you.

owning Opium Poppy seeds in the USA is NOT illegal. Growing Poppy flowers in the USA is NOT illegal. Yummy, yummy! 🌹
Best of Luck and good fortune to the brave peoples of Myanmar...
Even the UN has studied the problem & concluded legalize .
totally agree
thats partly true but im not sure it works that way in the small villages shown, as they said in the local communities they are dirt poor and are still able to supply themselves with heroin... basically its dirt cheap there and I dont think legalizing it would make it any cheaper, atleast not at the local level.
I have not touched smack since 1998, but give me opiumn any day.is there any around I would love to buy.contact me pls!
In India, poppy farming is legal as long as you get a license from the government. It's a special license that only a handful of farmers are allotted. They are grown not for the sap but for the seeds. For those who don't know the seeds of a poppy plant have absolutely zero psychotropic properties. These are used mainly in cooking for flavour.
unwashed Poppy seeds have Opium on them. Many people get good pain relief drinking Poppy seed tea. Yummy ! .....the great taste of no pain. 🌹
Yeah sure.

There are several people to blame for that.

plants don't drugs do
Problem is these drugs will exist inevitably.

You could legalize and regulate and take the power away from drug dealers but, that would be effective. No profit in peace
I ve heard that poppy seeds are also used as spice for cooking. They could use them for some positive prospects.

They were, but they haven’t been overprescribed in the US since the crackdown around 2013.
Empty out the prisons, let the addicts run a farm and get high without having to commit crimes.
Stfu
How things are dealt with currently isn't working, but this I feel is also not a good plan
But I do agree that if the poppies were grown for profit some addicts would steal it, but even a co-op or Woof style method would be unpractical for obvious reasons, if poppies matured in a day maybe it would be feasible but because addiction doesn't pause for the several months it takes poppies to mature its becomes a pretty superfluous idea in about 12-24 hours.
well, I'm 2000 born and from Myanmar. We, I mean our Gen Z don't even know about that happening in our country.
