If you do it early in the morning when it is most humid, make sure to keep it covered and in the shade during the day. Humidity could be lowest late in the afternoon, but will increase during the night. So, as long as you do it quickly without letting the cut surfaces dry out, you can do it late in the afternoon too.
Right now, we don’t have sufficient data to say which method is most efficient. They all work under ideal conditions. You may experience failure with any of these methods though, from time to time. It really depends on many factors, which include weather condition, as well as, human error.
