    I've watched all of your grafting videos and would like to know which one do you think creates the strongest graft?

  • @biomechanicalclone
    @biomechanicalclone 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I attempted a reversed version of this L cut, where my rootstock only has one rib and my grafted piece has two. It seemed like I'd have better odds with four viable thorn scions on my graft instead of just two.
    I wasn't able to get it to remain together with tape alone, so I added a clamp. (The type used to hold a bag of chips closed.) Hopefully that doesn't create too much pressure and lead to damage.

    What is the best approach for long term success? Graft a Asunta 5 on well established root stock i.e. Vietnam white or grow the cutting with its own root. Ignore kickstart of the established rootstock. Way 4 or 5 years down the road, which one would produce better?

    Can you grow dragonfruit in the desert ? Like Las Vegas?

    • @TheBrewingMiner
      @TheBrewingMiner 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will likely have to keep it in shade during the summer. They tend to tolerate 90-95°F, but as it gets hotter, the more heat stress it gets

    • @vegasdragonfruit9258
      @vegasdragonfruit9258 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just started and so far, so good. Yes, agree with @TheBrewingMiner. Right now it's really, really hot so I've kept most of my dragon fruit cuttings in my garage. Search TH-cam for people who live in AZ that grow dragon fruit. They're a great resource and most of what they say is applicable to Vegas.
