In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

He do doesn't care for doing this, he's the most apathetic first on the show. Hoping others fail will get you a few small wind here & there statistically speaking, the conservative approach died work, esp when he knows who his opponents are, like Iain, who is super enthusiastic & of course would go all in
@@kurtsudheim825 He's not "most apathetic"; he had undiagnosed Parkinson's at the time of filming, and had gone for an operation to solve what he thought was a frozen shoulder (but was a symptom of Parkinson's). That's the context for most of his performances

I sometimes hate his scoring method, like lots was good but not that good, & she only thought of soapie after soap, & it doesn't make full sence, just cause it's a homonym, but I did live Greg's immediate answer to that
I worry that if you put Joe in a small park, he'd wander around aimlessly until he starved to death.
On the other side of the spectrum I worry Iain will eat something unsafe at the park by the way he kept eating all those crisps

Joe getting 24 out of 25 possible points has got to be one of if not the most dominant single-episode performances out of a contestant on the show ever. Especially with that commanding live task at the end.
And yet he still just looks a bit sad about it. What a pleasure to witness.
Katherine Ryan got 30 in one episode due to a highly questionable scoring system, and now *SPOILER* Bridget Christie got 25 in a recent episode
Also Katy Wix got 24 in one episode, although several tasks she came joint first and Jo Brand got 13 in the live task
And now in Series 14 we have a clean sweep by Dara!
imo Joe and James Acaster's expressions never seemed to match what was happening around them. Sometimes happens when there's a lot going on internally (or very little haha)
Definitely a fav over all the series' and Ive watched the ones since this season too
I wish the 'select a wardrobe for your competitors' had ended up being for a team task. Seeing someone realize they had put a teammate in boxing gloves for a task involving any dexterity would be hilarious self-sabotage.

More than anyone else who has ever been on this show, Jo is the true binary contestant. Nearly everything he does is either 5 points or 1 point, with almost no in-between, and I respect the hell out of that

We see in Joe the expression of a phenomenon seen primarily in the populations of England and Wales, which linguists have begun to refer to as the "superstammer." What is occuring when his mouth hangs open is the same mechanism as a stammer, however it is so exaggerated that the words do not even begin to emerge. I just wanted to let the Taskmaster group know that I'm a teacher doing virtual learning right now and I sometimes do a little Home Tasking with my students to keep up morale and I tweeted at Alex to tell him how much fun my students were having and that I appreciate all his TM work and the effort to help people during the pandemic and he tweeted back telling me that he loved to hear my students were having fun and gave me more resources!

I know we're all in collective agreement that Joe Thomas is really cute and a chunk of us have fallen in love with him, but personally I'm starting to feel like I might be committing a crime being attracted to someone who seems to be two or three tasks away from a mental breakdown.

Which made Lou's statement of "I was hoping to wear the boxing outfit" very exiting.
I was today years old when I realized that the contestants were seated alphabetically left to right. This whole time, I just assumed that they were randomly seated, but seeing the costume challenge, I facepalmed myself for not noticing that after watching the show for over a year.
I also never noticed this... In a recent podcast episode, Alex revealed that the prize task in the very first episode of a series is also always done alphabetically. I had no idea. ^^

Joe alternates between looking really sad and surprised he still exists and being right on the money for a lot of things. That last challenge was really well done.

He was pretty stressed during the M&Ms task in series 1. And the one task in series 9 when David Baddiel kept jumping on the stage
iain eating those crisps had the same energy as a squirrel that found a bag of cocaine instead of nuts burried in the yard
Sian Gibson is the cutest contestant ever to have played in this show, her squeal at 37:54 is the same sound a Guinea Pig makes when she bring it's back to life with her pinky.

Joe Thomas would have fit right into Series 10 with his prize tasks. Also the fact that he's constantly on the verge of a breakdown.

Well joe did go to cambridge and even he read history or some art major he was a math tutor. Being a fan of joe since the in betweeners many years ago i feel kinda proud to see the percentage of the comments here about joe

I know there's a lot of Joe Thomas to appreciate in this episode, but don't sleep on his adorable prize collection behind the credits! Eating the jello, putting the dog slipper down the slide, and especially a little demonstration of just how slippery his soap his, which he then feels visibly self-conscious about!
I appreciate the irony of Greg making a large statement that Alex puts way more effort into these tasks than "randomly guess where the apple is" then having the studio task be "If you don't know the answer to the question, randomly guess where the apple is"

I think that I underestimated Iain in his lack of sanity

i'm not entirely sure why people are praising him so much for it. 100-19 is 81, Greg gave more than enough time to calculate that, and when you see 81 you KNOW you're dealing with a multiple of 3. So you don't really have to do any math stuff at that point
@@lred1383 Eh, what? How do you KNOW you are dealing with a multiple of 3 and don't need to do maths just because it is 81? The question could have been 100-19 divided by 20, at which point the answer is 4 (rounded down). It was impressive, he had it in almost a second or two of hearing 27. Fuck all to do with knowing it was 81. Now if you'd said "as soon as he heard the number was 27" then fair enough but 21, 22, and 23 would have been 4 (rounding up).
@@Yattien89 well, i learned the multiplication table for numbers 1-10 back in 3rd grade, and it's stuck with me forever. It's not really math if you just remember the answers without calculation, is it?
But for really big numbers, there is a trick: if you add up all digits in a number and the sum is divisible by 3, then the whole thing is also divisible by 3. For example, 3241647415769: 3+2+4+1+6+4+7+4+1+5+7+6+9=51, which is divisible by 3, so the whole thing also is
