I'm late to the party as I wanted to play this game completely before watching, but you misunderstood the horse scene at around 1:30:00. The horse isn't being distracted by the thing crashing through the boxes, it is the thing that's crashing through the boxes. You're supposed to track it's location using the sound and boxes moving, and make your moves when its further away from you. I do like though that doing it wrong doesn't immediately start you back at the beginning each time, but gives you the extra tension of the horse trying to sniff you out. Such a masterpiece of a game! This really got me. The Story here is very strong and I love how well every aspect is used like the visuals, the horror, the transitions, the time jumps and the tragic it shows caused because of the sick mind of .... SPOILER: Jimmy.
HEAVY SPOILERS: I'm still reeling from all the notions this game tried to put in my head at once. Something that is sticking with me is Curly's pacifism. Presumably, he knew about the baby a long while before the small scenes the game shows us. Yet he's still buddy-buddy with Jimmy? He doesn't try to punish him, or inform Swan who certainly would have done "something" about him? No, instead he tries to placate both the victim and the perpetrator, and in doing so he gives a man spiraling due to guilt literal and figurative control of the ship. Curly conscripts himself into an ironic, almost mythological fate. He is the watcher, watching everything spiral as this malignancy grows. The rest of the crew follows suit. No one is acknowledging their core issue, the root of their problem, so the rot spreads. Like an unwanted child, growing inside Anya. And everyone's fates are their biggest current "problems". Kind of the things a human is most like to ignore, right? Dai's free will is not his own. Swan died seemingly sober and clear-headed. Anya INGESTS poison which feels like very intentional imagery. Jimmy's biggest enemy is literally himself. Obviously this story has a villain, and some characters are *much* more flawed than others, but I feel like common people can let evil occur which otherwise would be snuffed if we weren't so worried about maintaining that status quo. Instead of doing something about it, we wash it down? What a experience that was.
i definitely understand why curly didnt want to confront jimmy, you dont want something to go wrong and jimmy to get aggressive when theyre literally trapped together for almost a year, but he still definitely made a lot of mistakes. the biggest of which being telling the crew about the secret message imo
exactly this, i feel like curly's flaw that you perfectly described is the hardest to pinpoint but one of the most realistic i see played out day to day in real life. it really just is another form of mouthwash.

Really really liked the first half but then it got a bit too abstract for me. Also I kinda find it a bit weird that Jimmy and Daisuke were acting like Anya was going to kill Curly in the section where she locks herself in. I felt like it was pretty clear she was going to kill herself which is what ended up happening. Maybe more manipulation on Jimmy's part.
Im confused why did Jimmy crash it? what was that about the pregnant lady being scared to talk about "the baby" to Jim? I was only half paying attention at the middle and I dont want to rewatch it.
Cause he assaulted her + she'd probably have to give birth while they're still on the ship, so EVERYONE would've known what he did, and there would be no way to get away with it. ran from the consequences of his own actions, responsibility and all
its implied Jimmy raped Anya and the baby would've been born around the time they got back. Jimmy being an upstanding guy, decided to crash the ship to avoid the consequences. Fortunately (or unfortunately) the crew survived the crash but Curly was badly injured leaving Jimmy to "take responsibility" for his actions.
This is why you are great in my book, other TH-camrs would waste our time with this game being split into 5 different videos for monetization. You also have a clean mouth, are very composed and make for a wonderful soft voiced narrator.
I think clear mouth didn't work for this particular game, though. Without strong words, added by developers, many moments sound rather...weak and unemotional.

I love the part after the confrontation both Jimmy and Swansea have, for the first time we get to know why swansea is the way he is, and, in a turn of events, we get to know that both of them, have very similar stories and motivations, Swansea got sold the idea that once he got into a job, all his problems would get solved, or at least, they would be easier to confront, after what we could assume was a very serious accident were he got revived (Referencing the 500 gigawatts comment) probably when he was drunk, a car accident possibly?, he tried to fix his llfe, he got sober, got a job, and tried to do his best, but it never got him anywhere, he worked at the company for years, but he never got to know what it felt like to have a family, probably because of how time consuming it was, he says it himself, at the end of the day, the ship was the only thing he had left, because even the company which he dedicated a great part of his life has ditched him, and even after that, he never got his frustrations out on everyone in a physical way, sure, maybe he was sacrastic, used profanity and let out spiteful comments, but that didn't made him a bad person, in fact, he seemed more mad at the company than to his coworkers, i mean, even Anya opened up to him at one point, maybe she thought Swansea was worthy of knowing what was happening between her and Jimmy, and that speaks louder than words.
The difference between Jimmy and Swansea, is that he wasn't a coward, and worked really hard to get where he was, even if it was all without purpose, he was a broken man who tried too much for his own good, and Jimmy never experienced such things, he was just spiteful and resented just because, and was blind too about what his role in the story was, Envy is blind afterall.
I loved this video so much, i never watched someone playing this game before, and it was great watching the librarian playing it!!, i loved the story telling and the use of an unreliable narrator in here, it was incredible, i definitely will be checking what comes next from these developers from now on, it's always great watching

I'm still reeling from all the notions this game tried to put in my head at once.
Interesting... 🤔

It's called being a decent human being, pal. Same thing you feel when seeing a homeless man on the street. Feeling empathy, worried and sorry for them. Dude probably doesn't know these are pre-recorded and thinks Librarian makes videos back to back.
@@lenanicole2837literally shut up, if you don’t know his schedule you surely would be, I was before I found out his videos were pre recorded, so chill out.

1:23:10 Not much of a useful comment but IM LOSING MY MIND
Really really liked the first half but then it got a bit too abstract for me.
Also I kinda find it a bit weird that Jimmy and Daisuke were acting like Anya was going to kill Curly in the section where she locks herself in. I felt like it was pretty clear she was going to kill herself which is what ended up happening. Maybe more manipulation on Jimmy's part.
1:16:23 he really is old.
2:52:46 wait what room is this?? I don’t remember this
That's a room on Voices of the void, another game on this channel but not by the same creator
Im confused why did Jimmy crash it? what was that about the pregnant lady being scared to talk about "the baby" to Jim? I was only half paying attention at the middle and I dont want to rewatch it.
I think it’s implied that Jimmie r*ped Anya
Cause he assaulted her + she'd probably have to give birth while they're still on the ship, so EVERYONE would've known what he did, and there would be no way to get away with it. ran from the consequences of his own actions, responsibility and all
its implied Jimmy raped Anya and the baby would've been born around the time they got back. Jimmy being an upstanding guy, decided to crash the ship to avoid the consequences. Fortunately (or unfortunately) the crew survived the crash but Curly was badly injured leaving Jimmy to "take responsibility" for his actions.
@@kingamaturasu ahh thanks, I got that vibe but zoned out a little in the middle so I didn’t know if anything was actually stated.
@@Cole_1 anya mentioned how the sleeping quarters dont have locks.
Wonder if the librarian will play silent hill 2 remake?
Bruh
like burke in aliens. sabotage all but one cryopod, leaving you as the sole surviving crewmate with any story to tell about how your crewmates didn't make it.
